Mostly because some people struggle with definitions of basic words. Nothing much else to write home about.
As for SCG, not much else to talk about until Modern GP this weekend and the Modern Open after that. Will definitely continue painting the picture of the Garbage Fire that Modern has become.
I completely agree with your first point. It seems silly to me to suggest that Kent Ketter did not break the rules or to have an 'agree to disagree' stance about the whole thing given the evidence.
That being said, talking about the format as a Garbage Fire is disingenuous and extremely hyperbolic. You're obviously still broken up (SURPRISE) over what you see as some irredeemable atrocity.
But please, for the Timmys, stop taking the opportunity to bash Modern in every post you make because your pet deck got banned.
I've laid out several arguments for why it has made the format worse (most recently in the "state of Modern" thread). It's not just one deck, it is an ENTIRE ARCHETYPE that is no longer competitively viable which results in a huge change of how people play. Rather than respecting opponents, games are more about dumping your hand and hoping for the best. Matches are decided by the pairings board, the dice roll, and your top 10 cards much more often than your actual decisions during the games.
We're off to a great start with GP Dallas and Affinity/Zooicide round 1...
This is a textbook example of confounding variables. "Dredge won through the best possible hate available" isn't the full story. "Dredge won through the best possible hate available AND the opponent mulled to 4/5" is more like it. It's no surprise that a mull to 4 is a death sentence for almost any deck (except maybe Dredge itself ). Lantern Control managed to beat a horrible Burn matchup in the quarterfinals a GP after the Burn player mulled to 4.
Anyway, we still have a GP this weekend, which would give us more data about Dredge. Dredge underperformed at the previous GP weekend - now with Cathartic Reunion in the mix, the deck is stronger than before and there's really no excuse if it fails a second time.
Just saw dredge win through a relic of progenitus and a kalitas, traitor of ghet. His opponent kept a 7 with turn 1 relic on the draw.

Yea. People really have a hard time grasping competitive REL from the IPG.
But it is what it is.
The thing we learn from this is ALWAYS mention your own triggers. Don't assume your opponent has executed it. (even if your opponent has acknowledged it). You're responsibility for ensuring it resolves.
If you don't mention the trigger... it's considered missed. Always unless a judge rules differently.
and on to dredge...
It's actually not that difficult for a dredge player to play around GY hate. That deck is super resilient. I've seen it several times.

I'm not going to argue with you in this thread. I simply asked you to stop *****ting on Modern in every post, especially if your opinion of the metagame is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

It was the first in quite a while; calm yourself. People are entitled to opinions. If a moderator has a problem with it, they will contact me.
He may have strong opinions but his unique brews have been a breath of fresh air for modern and that's almost not arguable. Kiki-Chord wouldn't be where it is today without him.

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
I don't think Chris Van Meter has done commenting much recently and they have never worked as a commentating team before.
Pretty excited to see Amulet back. I tried the deck for 3 FNMs, but moved on from there. The deck is still incredibly powerful - just lost consistency.

Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
Boswell seems to have an open stream of consciousness just flowing from his mouth this weekend. Patrick, Cedric, LSV, etc. are so good at going over different lines of play and showing the viewer why Play X is relevant two or three turns from now.
CVM and Bos are just doing a play by play it seems...
EDIT: Looks like Kevin Jones made it to the quarters with Delver!
CVM and Boz have provided terrible commentary all weekend long. Beyond their bland presentation and seemingly lackluster chemistry, Boz especially has made several incorrect comments and analyses that needed correction or clarification. Their personal comments about the format as they came up also felt extremely forced and often completely contradictory to comments they had made previously in the weekend. All in all, they make a horrible commentary pair.
On the bright side, Top 8 is up and Delver is among them!
Tom Ross - GW Tron
Todd Anderson - Jund
Robert Cucunato - Affinity
Adam Fronsee - Bant Eldrazi
Ben Wienburg - Burn
Kevin Jones - Grixis Delver
Matt Ayers - Dredge
Dan Musser - Bant Eldrazi
No Infect to be seen, but 6 of 8 are essentially linear/aggro decks. Jund will likely get crushed by Tron and Grixis will have an uphill battle against Burn. Let's see how it plays out. Hopefully Delver is the chosen match because there really isn't much to see in Jund v Tron (current vote leader).

I really hope that we don't have to suffer through Bozwell/CVM commentary for the next tournament. Both just state the obvious the entire time while just making statements that are just flat out wrong. Not to mention the just cringe worthy side comments. From bozwell saying that "lingering souls is SUCH a bad card" despite the fact that many lingering soul decks did well this weekend to "path to exile is a horrible card" when Tom Ross splashed white in tron and got top 8 with it. I REALLY hope that they get Patrick and co back. Well nothing new that we learned from this tournament. The same old same old is doing well.
