So, it's been 3 weeks since the SCG Premier IQ. Any predictions for the top 8? I'm going to predict 8 Jund.

Looks fine to me.
I mean we still have room until we hit 30% of the meta again and our Standard Abzan brothers were over 30% of the Day 2 meta at the latest SCG Event.
For the SCG Premier IQ in Richmond, how about something different that wins? Let's go with Scapeshift. On a side note, loves to the combo decks out there (Ad Nauseam, Grishoalbrand and Living End).
Top 32 for SCG Chicago is up! 248 players attended the event which was held nowhere near "Chicago" so that number probably should have been higher. This is the first large American Modern event where Origins has been legal, so I tried to highlight Origins cards that got used. Let me know if I missed any!
Boring top 32 aside GW Hatebears being 14th, BW Tokens being 17th and Scapeshift at the 20th spot.
I agree. I am also confused at the lack of Grishoalbrand. That meta seems pretty good for it, being light on Affinity (which can be a slightly bad matchup) and lacking of any other tough matchups.
Now I really wish there was some way to find out what all 248 decks were. How many people played each deck?

I was so disappointed coming in 9th. I lost to the temur twin player and burn player in the top 8. was 7-2 overall.
2-0 vs grixis control
2-0 vs jund Game one she kept a two lander didn't draw a third and ate double spreading seas. Good player though and I liked her lines.
2-1 vs jund
2-0 vs ur twin
0-2 vs temur twin. he had great hands and played well
2-1 vs naya burn. he made several misplays but still would have lost the two games anyways.
2-0 vs grixis control
1-2 vs naya nurn
2-0 vs u/r twin. The twin player might have been able to win game one but he messed up a cryptic command modes. He needed to tap bounce but he went draw so an activated muta vault after crytpic resolved killed him

It actually wasn't light on affinity at all it is just a ton of grixis showed up which kept affinity off the top tables. Also twin was heavy and jund was just below the top 32 all over the place.
Merfolk was the right deck for that tourney very little burn over all even though i played it twice. Affinity was getting stomped by all the grixis and twin player and/or jund. Only thing i would change is cut 1 tectonic edge for another tidebinder mage
Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?
Deck 14 isn't GW Hatebears. It's WG Death and Taxes.
Now that you say it, yes you are right.
You have to admit thought that these two decks can be confused with each other from time to time.
Oh, absolutely. But I play D&T, so I can tell them apart. SCG constantly makes this mistake, which is unfortunate, because it makes D&T look less competitive than it really is.

Does anyone have any thoughts on which Origins cards will show up in the Top 8 decks? I think Affinity with Day's Undoing might show up. Like to hear what you people think!
Liliana's a "safe" pick just because she's solid with cards like Fulminator Mage that have synergy with both modes. As for Day's Undoing anytime you can draw seven for three mana, regardless of the caveats, something broken will happen.
Darkhorse picks: Abbot of Keral Keep - good early because it can pressure, and great late because you're always getting value. The bricks you'll experience early are offset by the overall value, kind of like when Bloodbraid would cascade into removal with no creatures on your opponent's board. And the optimal plays like Abbot > Thoughtseize/Inquisition or Abbot > Dark Confidant/Goyf or Abbot > Terminate or Abbot > Path/Nacatl/Delver or what have you replicate the velocity that made Bloodbraid so good. Huge fan of this card and its potential. Molten Vortex - its synergy is better with Life from the Loam than Seismic Assault because you only need two red mana to eliminate everything you need to in the format (Exarch, Hierarch, Confidant, Ornithopter, Voice, etc). It punishes creature based strategies the way the Grove/Punishing Fire engine used to. Not quite as busted, but still effective as hell. Animast's Awakening - seems busted, and a potential staple as a one or two-of in Scapeshift IMO. Sphinx's Tutelage - a better option than Mesmeric Orb IMO for people that actually believe mill can be viable.
The results for the modern event at SCG Richmond is missing a decklist. A friend of mine made top 8 with jund and was DQ'd for wagering because someone had joked that if he won he would have to buy everyone dinner. At the time he was crushing elves in the top 8. Here's his list.

Wow, really? That sucks.
Kinda ridiculous that something like that can get you DQ. Anyway that explains why there are only 15 decks listed and I like the list from your friend. I prefer Olivia Voldaren over Huntmaster of the Fells too.
Definitely not on an entire meta-game wide scale. Something that people should be keep it mind is that BG/x rarely had any competition at being a fair and highly disruptive deck but now with Grixis Control on the map people do have an alternative to Jund/Abzan if they want to play such a style of deck and no Liliana of the Veils and Tarmogoyfs means the deck is more affordable despite the last price surge of Snapcaster Mage
I would actually prefer if they banned Twin and Griselshoal became the new meta combo. Twin is just too lame and shoved into so many other archetypes. Idk how many iterations of Twin decks are out there from Living Twin, Jeskai Twin, Tarmo-Twin, Grixis Twin, RUG Twin. It just kills ingenuity.
Griselshoal is more of an all in deck that can be disrupted but still has multiple avenues of accomplishing its goal.
I doubt the plan B of this deck is going to ever be splash green for goyf, or blue for Though Scour and power out a Tasigur.
