Desolater magic does have a tendency to get worked up in his videos but his points usually have some merit, it's that people can't get over their hatred for same random guy on the internet who has no impact on them. Don't watch his videos if you don't like him, you don't need to badmouth every single person you don't agree with. It also really makes your argument seem irrelevant if you can't in any way counter what their saying so you instead call them names.
Moving back to the topic of WPN stores and Modern Masters I read the link @joban8 posted and I thought it was interesting the way they worded it compared to Plancechase Anthology when it comes to ordering cards. I realize they just have not posted quantities that will be available to different levels possibly including non-wpn.
However when I was doing some reading on MM2017 I saw that the page specifically mentions "New art on a number of cards." Looking back at MM15 there were hardly any new art cards (I counted two in the first 5 pages of tcg) and although two is a number, I feel like there will be a lot more new art cards. I feel like we can expect new art on Liliana if she is the chase car. Knowing how people love original copies, I can't see lily going much unless we get an eternal masters level of shaft from wizards. Would it be reasonable to pick up normal art versions now in the expectation that they will go up/hold value in the case of a new art reprint?
Value is good. But Dredgevine isn't supposed to be about value. It's supposed to be about V-8; 2000 pounds of nitro boosted war vegetables. The more velocity, the better.

Lili is pretty iconic. New art would not be well received. My guess is, new art was a warning on Snapcaster Mage, and a few others, most of which I suspect will be 10th ed. or older.
Giving LOTV new art would be a bad idea, that drawing of her is literally one of MTGS defining art pieces. That would be like changing JTMS into something different
Question: What are the odds of Blood Moon being in MM17? I've heard both sides, one saying it is an iconic card with a high sticker price, so it could/should be in the other saying that it promotes unfun MTG and thusly will be left out. I really want a set for my casual Werewolf deck but don't know if to the tune of $30 plus is the price point I want to buy in at. Thoughts?

I'd say it's maybe 55-45 in favor. It's very important to the format (even if it's unfun, it helps keep ramp in check), and the list of decent, eligible red rares is pretty short. (It could be shifted up to Mythic, but that doesn't strike me as likely.)
However, you also have to consider what will happen to its price after spoilers. If it's included doubt it will drop far; maybe by around $5. But if it's not, it could easily shoot up $15 - and that's being conservative. And it could also spike if Tron/Eldrazi/Ramp start putting up good numbers, which many expect and which the latest metagame numbers may point towards. I'm finishing out my set in the run-up to spoilers, personally.
As an aside, is there a solid basis behind the "It's unfun so won't be in MM" argument? I've seen it thrown around a lot lately, but we've seen cards deemed "unfun" printed in MM before - like Chalice of the Void and Blood Moon.

I take it back, giving new art to the cards isn't a bad idea at all, it can keep the originals at inflated prices for people who either like the flavor or artwork more, while pumping out new cards in circulation that focuses more on people who just want to play, it's actually a smart compromise
And what exactly does ''WPN'' mean? I've heard the term thrown around a lot, but I have no idea what it means or how it would impact MM if the set is or isn't ''WPN''.
Wizards Play Network. It's like their LGS network, a store registers to become a part of it. One of the benefits is they get to place direct sales orders with WOTC.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
Two things worry me. Blood Moon seems to be in that tenuous spot for a rare. It's almost to where I'd say it will have sustained price memory but it's just hard for me to swallow, because I can still remember when it was like $4-5 per card. It really seems though that cards have to sustain a price above $40 before that price memory really kicks in. Sure those cards drop when reprinted responsibly but they don't drop much more than 40% and they do recover value over time and no printings. I'm not sure Blood Moon is one of those cards. I'm, we didn't even see a real major spike in it when Skred won that GP. I mean, it's a card that has had the crap printed out of it. Something doesn't feel right to me about its price. Also, if Blood Moon receives a rarity shift, the current price could go up by 10,20,30% rather quickly. IDK, maybe should just pull the trigger I guess...

I bit the bullet on Blood Moon recently as well. If you're going to pull the trigger, I suggest you shop around LGSs and pick yourself up copies of The Dark printing. The price difference between all printings is pretty negligible as of now and cards from that set have been creeping up as a whole.
What has me more worried is the low pre-order price of the modern masters set and the weak modern market. I'm certain that modern has at least two years left before wizards announces a new format to coincide with the... er... do we want to call it the Gideon league of heroes? The Fantastic Five?
But dear gods Wizards, give us more modern reprints in your sets! The value prospect on Aether Revolt is abysmal past it's time in standard, and it's already abysmal IN standard. The only cards we all know for sure are making it in modern are Disallow and Fatal Push, with (albeit good) possibilities with many of the combo cards and engines like Paradox Engine, Mechanized Production, and possibly a few vehicles. We wont really know until probably a year from now as people in modern are going to need more time to brew to figure things out with this set. It still doesn't feel like new phyrexia / scars block broken, though, and energy may have a tough time finding a home outside of standard despite how fun the mechanic is. I'd definitely take energy over infect, even if the later is more effective.
Hoping this is close enough to being on topic for price discussion.

Good call. I've picked up quite a few of the GP promos over the last few months, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it'll be in MM17. Can't say the same for Basilisk Collar, however. I had the chance to pick up a playset for ~$32 the other day and I regret not picking them up. Oh well, not the first time it's happened. I'd be surprised if WoTC had the foresight to include it in MM17, so it should fetch a pretty penny so long as the deck continues to play well.
I don't mind being patient for a small price drop, but may I ask if anyone might have some insight on foil Mox Opals? I understand that Affinity is on the rise again, and I would like to finish my Affinity deck as soon as I can but I don't think I can justify purchasing the card when it just went up around 15-30 dollars more than what I bought it for about two weeks ago.
I need two more and was going to go ahead and buy them but with the price increase, I think I am okay with just waiting until the foils are back down to around 50. Any knowledge of when I may be able to expect that price or see a slight decrease?

Good point on the possible reprint. It may keep prices down and Batterskull is usually only a 2 of in Eldrazi Tron. I see it is used in other decks though. We may just see a modest bump in price instead of a spike. Guess we have to wait and see.

That's a tough call. On one hand, MM17 is around the corner and Mox Opal is ripe for a reprint, so you could cash in on the two you have and pick them back up later or just wait it out. On the other hand, if it slips through MM17s reprint list then you're looking at another spike. In that scenario, you'd probably be better off springing for the Masterpiece foils. If it doesn't see a MM17 reprint then I can't imagine foils dropping back down to $50 range unless it's actually banned in modern or suffers as a result of a different ban (e.g. Retract, Puresteel Paladin).
At this point, it is not a matter of if, but when Mox Opal gets a ban. Same likely goes for the Guide cycle, as ubernostrum pointed out.
EDIT: Looking at GP Vancouver, I see 0 Cheerios and 1 Affinity (Top 8) in the top 32. Have not looked at the other GP's. Mox Opal may be safe - for now.

But for now all you need is any instant speed removal or even t1 discard spell to shut them down. But they can beat tron and scapeshift turn 2, which is why they get a lot of free wins.
That's assuming you're not up against the SSG + Rugged Prairie build and lose T1 before getting the chance to have a turn. Of course T1 wins aren't occurring at a regular frequency, however, the fact that they're not uncommon is what worries me about a potential SSG and/or opal ban. I 100% agree that if the deck were to become too consistent then Retract is the likely ban target, but I've been hearing more and more gripes from players about SSG being "unfun" and I could see it get axed if that particular Cheeri0s variant starts seeing more play.

If you want to talk about bans go to the meta thread. Mentioning a likely ban is fine for purposes of finance, but not specific details to talk about it leading to a larger debate.

If they are really reprinting Grisselbrand, then I sincerely hope they reprint Goryo's Vengeance. It's going to spike out of control if not reprinted and it's the only deck Grissy is played in.
Also, I totally believe that guy on the front is new art for Snapcaster. It fits thematically and probably is a reaction to the overall negative response people gave to the RPTQ art. If that's the case, I'm glad I already have a set of ISD foils and haven't sold my non-foil ISD snaps yet. That original art is by far and away the best and will hold highest value.
