Absolutely it will see play in Modern, and as a 4 of. 'That which dies, feeds the Tarmogoyf.'
It wont see play as much for it's first ability, I think, though goyf decks will like that ability to find the/another goyf.
No, green Modern decks will run it to splash a planeswalker without having to adjust the manabase. Particularly, I see G/R Tron decks using it to access the Tezzeret walkers. Additionally, it allows G/X decks to play G/Y walkers, and never having to mess with a tried, tested and trusted manabase. Throw in Affinity decks that want to play the Tezzerets. (I'm not the best on affinity, so IDK the colors)
Basically, any deck already running Green can stretch for any planeswalker without imploding due to overcomplicating manabases. There will be a lot of Green testing to see how valuable it is.
In Standard, I've already got a G/W control deck that has no white mana, and no creatures. Just pure control with Nissa and Gideon providing tokens, and Nissa pumping them, and using my mana to counter everything the opponent tries to do.
Not so sure about that, firstly mono blue tron already exists and to my knowledge it doesn't even run tezzeret even though its in color, so I doubt it would be any different in GR tron whose goal it is to simply be as streamlined as possible. Also I think the whole "any deck already running green can stretch for any planeswalker without imploding due to overcomplicating manabases" is kind of wishful thinking, keep in mind, you will only have 4 in the deck and you cant tutor them out like you can shocks with fetchlands, which means if your entire route to casting X or Y planeswalker is to have this in your hand then that plan will most likely blow up in your face. I think the overall card drawing/filtering effect is deceptively good, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here, I think it will definitely need testing before we can make any definitive assumptions for this card
I've never purchased a card on pre-order before. What would one estimate is a good price for Oath of Nissa?
I'm excited about this card's potential in modern and would like to get it before it is too pricey.
Oath of Nissa is not, and will never be, Modern playable. It has some casual appeal, and will likely be worth about 3-4 dollars in the long term, but I wouldn't pay more than about $1 for it now. It'll almost certainly end up around there after release
If you can't see the value of looking at the top 3 cards and getting a creature/planeswalker/land from the three cards, then idk what to tell you. If the card ONLY did that then it would be good. The fact that it: keeps dumping enchantments in graveyard to feed goyf, fixes for BG decks to get liliana out easy, and it filters for one mana.
For some reason I thought it only grabbed a 'walker. I think I will have to re-evaluate.
No one answered my question as to why Glen Elendra Archmage spiked.
Anyone?
I'm presuming that no one answered it because no one knows. Since there is no "real" reason that I know of, it's probably a buyout. It's getting close to Modern season - the season of the buyout.

Inquisition of Kozilek is nowhere near as good as Thoughtseize, especially in the Standard format where there's a much higher mana curve and more cards it can't hit.
I mean it's not going to be Thoughtseize with Mono Black Devotion and such, but Inquisition of Kozilek hits something important from every single deck. Even taking a 3 mana ramp from Naya Ramp can hurt their development. The card itself is definitely miles away from Thoughtseize as a card since it is very limiting, but Inquisition is even MORE miles away from any other discard spell Wizards has printed (please don't include Hymn to Tourach in the conversation ).

Okay, two points on the whole hyperbolic storm spinning around Oath of Nissa. 1) It is nowhere near as good as ponder even when you take Oath's second ability into consideration. Ponder allows you to reorder your next three draws, shuffle your library and replaces itself. Oath has the possibility of whiffing entirely(though that seems reasonably unlikely most times.) and 2) Oath has two likely Modern decks that could readily use it: Tron and GBx. And in both of those decks, it struggles to show any relevant value. Tron has Stirrings which eclipses Oath merely by dig depth. And GBx has such a tight list it would be difficult to find room for Oath.
IDK, its just definitely not ponder and I don't as yet see a modern home for it. Could it find one, well at 1 mana, I certainly think it's plausible.

Guys what do you think about selling my fetches. I could use the money and when they drip out of standard their going to drop for sure because literally every single multicolor deck benefits from them. I'm not using some of my wooded foothills and bloodstained mires and I wouldn't be surprised if they went down to like $10 for a while after standard. Like thoughtseize went from 20 to 14. I could make a long list of all the relevant and flavorful reprints that could have been in Battle for Zendikar... I'm not holding my breath whatsoever.
That said, while I already have my playset of IOK, it would be an excellent time to put it back into the hands of Modern players since it's not on par with Theros Thoughtsieze in terms of price, despite being reprinted in an Event Deck and printed at Uncommon.

They may dip in the short term but Fetches are some of the safest commodities in the game. When that dip happens I'll probably purchase a set of everything I don't have.
If you need the money now for financial obligations outside the game, by all means, do what you have to do. I would sell now and buy back in post rotation once all the standard players start selling.

IDK, fetches might be worth just holding onto. While it's true every rotation sees a bit of a price drop, I'd venture to guess that fetches will have a very minimal one, if any at all. They are staples in every format that uses lands. They could drop to ~$15 but I wouldn't look for them to stay there too long. As to thoughtseize, I believe it is anywhere from $15-20 and will surely cross the $20 threshold eventually barring another major reprint. Fetches though are always gonna be more sought after than thoughtseize.
That was more the long view. Short view, if you can hit the window right you might be able to make up a few bucks. But it's a little risky.

I dont think they will dip as hard as some think. Its really not Standard keeping them at the price they are. I am pretty sure we wont see the fetches drop back down tot that ~$10 range. So many people buying them up for after rotation. If you think Thoughtseize is used in very few decks and only lost $6 after rotation, I figure the fetches maybe lose $1-$3 for a short time before they start to climb again.

Any thoughts of IoK in the new set?
I doubt it. Why? Because it seems logical. Wotc has missed so many chances to slide staples into sets its hard to guess what gets reprinted when and where. For that reason, I dont expect to see it. Especially being a small set and focusing on 2 headed play. Maybe MM2017 if they continue with that schedule.

Are you talking the new INN set? or the next set, Oath. Either way I dont expect to see LotV or Snappy in the new INN set. Same reason as above. It makes sense, so Wotc wont do it.
I really hope it's in but I worry that since every other card that includes a titan's name and has color also has devoid, it might be left out for flavor reasons. Which is totally dumb, but not outside the realm of ridiculousness WotC is known for.

Because of this I can't imagine iok being reprinted - Kozilek in this block is almost completely tied into 'colorless matters' and having a card that specifically referenced the titan without devoid seems counterintuitive. Maybe we can hope for a functional reprint?
Oath of Nissa will definitely be a 4-of in any deck that wants it, and there will be several of those decks in standard. In modern, idk; imagining it in a BGx deck I foresee a lot of peeks seeing Land, Bolt, Discard, or some similar blend with the player putting the 2 cards they actually want on bottom. The deck doesn't really have that high of a creature count. As a proactive 1-drop it also competes with discard spells in that deck, which are arguably better on turn 1 in almost any situation. It might find a place, but I don't think it's BGx as we know it now. Maybe it could be strong in the Abzan Company decks or something like that, but again they have stronger 1-drops for their gameplan.
So, does anyone have any clue why Phyrexian Crusader is spiking? I assume it's modern demand but I sure don't know what from. Only time I've ever seen it played is in an 8-rack SB creature plan, and I definitely don't imagine 8-rack is on the rise.

Anyone have any predictions on Jace, Vryn's Prodigy? When's the time to buy in & when, if ever will he drop? Any chance he goes down before he rotates out of standard?
JVP will drop when he rotates and all the Jeskai Black kiddies sell at a loss to pick up the new flavor of the month. When this happens, buy buy buy because that is a $50 card at the minimum. I suspect he'll drop to $35, at which point he is easy value.
The recent Wallet of Progenitus spike has made me sad I wrote "MANA LEAK" on my Japanese copy of the card back before we had such advanced proxy-making tech. I figured it was worthless back in 2008 and now one copy can buy ten Mana Leaks. It's kind of unnoticeable unless you're looking for it but I can't sell it now.
