Ugin has nowhere to go but down. It's a powerful card, and it recently topped off at $35, but has started to drop. I would be very surprised if it remained around $35 after a few months, and it will almost definitely lose value after rotation (which, granted, is many, many months away).
Ugin's price really surprises me. It's only not played in many decks and is only played as a 1- or 2-of in the decks it is played in. Is it some kind of Commander all-star?
It is only played as a 1-2 of in most Standard decks, but it's played in almost every Gx ramp/devotion deck and most control decks, which makes up a pretty huge chunk of the metagame. I'm not too surprised that it's up there, but I don't think it'll stay.
No, it's just a lot of hype since the PR and the fact that it does indeed see some play. It is a 1-2 of in GR Tron, played in several Standard decks, and is just overall a desired card (for collection purposes and EDH type formats). I know I wanted one myself for my Tron deck and ended up paying $28.10 for it because I couldn't wait for it to go down.
Personally, I would rather have Vendilion Clique than 3 Ugin (Ugin being at its highest right now and Clique in a lull).
I am also curious about Monastery Mentor. I want to get a play set at their lowest, but am scared that any of the formats could cause it to increase (seen play in Vintage, Legacy, Modern, and Standard). Right now the play is very sparse, but if it changes, there goes the "decent" current price.
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Standard - Mono Red (6-2 and 5-3 in 2 McQ)
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)

While I doubt that formats other than Standard will cause it to increase in price this rotation, you should get it before rotation. Most of Jeskai Tempo will still be Standard legal after rotation and everyone is going to want to buy Monastery Mentor as a replacement for Goblin Rabblemaster.
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
What price do you think Monastery Mentor will bottom out at, and when? I'm very tempting to buy them now, as they are currently around $17-$20 a piece, and that seems low. The Esper Mentor build is gaining some popularity, and it may be something to keep an eye on.
Well Mentor is seeing some legacy play so I predict that he will stay around $15-20 for awhile

On mtgsalvation people don't want to discuss ideas, so I give people something else to discuss: my controversial opinions.
When do you guys think is the best time to pick up Collected Company? Will it get cheaper as soon as the set is released? When/Will it go up because it seems quite strong and I guess it will be played in Standard?
I don't see this card getting much standard play to be honest. So the price will be driven solely by modern imho

I wanna buy Celestial Colonnade, what's your opinion on that one, especially regarding mm2015. I definitely not wanna wait until Return to Zendikar before buying.
It probably won't be in Return to Zendikar because they are almost certainly reprinting fetchlands then. However, I think that the manlands will be in MM2. Manlands are significantly more useful for limited than normal dual-lands and Modern Masters is focused completely on making an awesome Limited format and increasing interest in Modern.
"Memory effect"? Nobody would sell it for a lower price since it is a very playable card, soon or later it will be on a tier deck. Actually that is happening with most of modern cards.
Collected Company will go down unless there are at least 2 Standard and 1 Modern deck picking it up. With print runs what they are today, that's what i takes for a rare to stay at 5 bucks in my experience. There is no way in hell Ugin is going down (slight dips notwithstanding), it is just one of the most powerful cards in Standard and, conveniently, a foil to all these fancy new dragons people want to play. It is my honest bet for most expensive Standard card 2015. When it rotates out of Standard it will obv go down, but I think the card has still room to go up.
Do you all believe KTK fetches will dip a bit when Zendikar fetches arrive in BFZ? I'm contemplating whether to get my playsets now or wait for a dip when fetches are spoiled. I almost supect that the dip (if there is one), would only undo what they have gone up until then, so it might be better to get them now...
Some of them are only 12 bucks, I don't see them going too much lower even as more filter in to the market. When do they rotate out, again? That will probably be the lowest point, but I don't see them shooting up too fast afterwards.
Debating between picking up a playset of Foothills and Heaths or Aether Vials for DnT.

Get foothills and heaths now. They're around $10, I don't see them getting much lower. Aether Vial on the other hand is $23, so there is no rush in getting these I'd say. There's the chance it could get reprinted in MM 2015.

IT was in MM1 not sure what that means for its chances of another reprint?

Tarmagoyf was in the first Modern Masters and is confirmed to also be in MM 2015. It's possible for a card to be in the first MM to also be in the next one. http://mythicspoiler.com/mm2/cards/tarmogoyf.html
I think you might as well wait for MM2 to find out if vial is in it. Its not going to go up either way, so it can only go down. I think that the allied fetches are as low as they are going to get, but at the same time they are also not going to start climbing for several months. Some may peak a bit as the standard meta fluctuates, but the gradual increase will probably not happen until they are no longer being opened for limited. You have time there too. Honestly you should make sure you have older lands like shocks since they are only going up, and you have time for fetches.
Yeah, I feel like Vials are never going to be reprinted outside of a promo set, so if they're not in MM2015, they'll keep going up because they're a need card in Modern and Legacy.

That may be true, but they are not currently used very much in Modern. They are good staples to be sure, as they can be great when the right deck comes around. My point is that I don't see the price of Vial changing much between now and after MM2 is fully spoiled regardless of whether it is not in the set. That is only what...2 months? It is just not a card that is prone to spiking, so you don't lose much if you wait a bit to grab them.
So why did Eye of Ugin shoot up about ~$8-$9 in the last week? To my knowledge Tron hasn't done anything significant in a minute. Pretty unfortunate because I planned on finishing Tron this next paycheck.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
