I think the market might go through some adjustment given what I've heard of attendance at the last few GPs. I didn't think that wizards would double dip into the pain train twice and that last year would have been the height of drama, but the second wave of animosity from the ultimate masters is palpable at my locals. Two folks just said they had enough of this and sold out of their collections. These are modern players mind you and not standard players.
Wait, what? Do you mean to say that players are reacting to a set that hasn't been fully spoiled and for which we don't know about print run amounts in a Chronicles manner?
If so, this is probably a non-issue and just a few crazies overreacting.

I'm not saying modern is collapsing, I'm saying that there are people who are offloading collections of format relevant cards due to the masters set for reasons that I didn't think about until now.
If 10% of all people playing modern gave up magic and sold out, that would have even more impact than stores offloading singles to put capital into ultimate masters. Also, I cant emphasize enough that locals are not all the same and that locals are not comparable to GPs. The over all attendance of GPs is down and only marginally recovered from two years ago.
Channel fireball tried to make it sound like things are going super up, but the reality is that the bar for improvement in attendance got set pretty low.
That means demand should still be lower on the entire market than two years ago. It also could mean less packs opened and therefore lower supply.

Less drama, more brain power.
Without any external forces driving behavior, on any given day it is probably true that for every person who sells out of their collection, someone else buys in. If you argue that ultimate masters is an external force driving negative behavior, fine. I have no idea where you're finding anything even approaching compelling evidence for this, but let's assume it's true. If that's the case, it may increase the people selling and depress the people buying. But it would have to be such a large disaster that the evidence is clear to everybody (it's not) to even come close to a number like 10%.
Call it psychological threshold, but for me prices need to go *down* for me to consider buying in further in modern. I have a sliding scale that drop off sharply above $20. Snappy, hierarch and al. would need to be cut off in half for me to seriously consider buying in. I presently only buy these type of cards when I luck into a high-priced standard foil in FNM. (Given that they've given up on master-pieces, the number of standard cards that can be traded for enough value are scarce. Teferi, where are you?)
IOW, I'm happy whenever another master set comes out, but experience has shown me that the actual cards I need don't get hit significantly enough to make them affordable.
I also always find it amusing that people rage over cards in their collection they had no intention of selling losing value. What do you care if people can buy them for less that what you pay? Are you constantly trading one deck for another?

I'm starting to think you might be getting the wrong impression here. People leave magic the gathering for all sorts of reasons. I've seen people leave because of the sprankle drama that happened last year just because standard was depressing, iconic masters fell flat, and the only thing to look forward to was the next unset.
Does that look like Magic is dying? Hell no, it's just down from the peak it was at in 2016 and we all know the reasons. Also, 10% was literally just a random number used in an example. I could have picked 2% or something, but I wanted to use a number large enough to get the point across.
A couple of prolific youtubers have been going through some existential crisis recently that has caused some negative waves on social media. That coupled with criticism aimed at Ultimate Masters is what is leading to the seasonal "wave 2" of the debby downer syndrome we've had. It's sort of bad to have it happening within a year of the last big social disaster since people were just starting to get over it with Guilds of Ravnica being released.
Also, Pierrebai most people don't care if the cards went to 0 dollars in value, they just want to play the game. It's not very realistic that cards would drop to 0 dollars in value, but as people who just want to have a fun past-time it's a pretty logical stance to take. Most of us would want to pay way less for cards than what vendors are selling the cards for, but part of the reason the price is where it is at is because someone out there does value that card high enough to warrant the price.
As for the mentioned social media stuff: The thing is that some of these people on social media completely fail to understand that what they say and do to go against the grain is nothing new. People have raged against things they don't like for ages and it's what companies expect. One player sells out and says he doesn't want to support wizards, but then goes and plays Arena. Another player encourages others to boycott WoTC products, yet buys WoTC products himself. We've all seen this song in dance in MtG, online games, mobile games, etc. It's a miracle we have enough traction in the political sphere to get some limits put in place for loot boxes.

I don't think it's likely. They already revealed the rare land cycle in the box toppers and they just reprinted that card in iconic. My own hope for additional lands are Ancient Ziggurat and the Urza lands at uncommon. At common the Kahn gain lands seem pretty likely as those are a pauper favorite and help fix the mana for limited.

IMO, chances are slim to none. I agree that it likely would've been a box topper had it been included; especially when you consider the number of sub-par box toppers that would've easily been replaced by Canopy (e.g. kitchen finks eternal witness lavaclaw reaches raging ravine stirring wildwood etc ). Since one Canopy costs over a 1/3 of what IMA boxes are going for, I'd honestly consider just taking the risk of buying a box rather than a single Canopy; I'm actually surprised boxes are still that cheap. It was a poor excuse for a $250 MSRP Masters set, but an incredible value if you're paying $130/box. I think the negative connotation of it being a bad set is the only thing keeping box prices low, because the prices of cards like Canopy, Aether Vial, Mana Drain, Elesh, Cryptic etc suggest it should be considerably higher. I wouldn't be surprised to see a price correction in sealed boxes once UMA is spoiled in its entirety.
Wondering why Gisela, the broken blade is still expensive? Was planning to test in modern homebrew, but discovered she is still 8$ each in online stores.
Okay, so quick update from scanning ebay: There's a metric crap ton of Ultimate Masters being unloaded still at 264.99. Two thoughts after talking to my own LGS owner:
1) The price is really high so many LGS are not ordering a lot of them. I actually heard from two places that 265 dollars is better than distributor pricing, which does not sound right at all as they are getting them for pretty darn cheap. Probably sub 200 dollars a box before reselling to places given many are able to get the boxes for around 200-220. My guess is that the extra allocations are going over to the places selling for less.
2) If the sales numbers on E-bay from Sports and More + other sellers is accurate, we've already seen over 6000 boxes sold on pre-sale for well under the MSRP. This is going to get interesting...

There are quite a few pricey cards from Eldritch Moon and it's largely due to the set simply not getting opened as much as the sets before/after it; Summer set sandwiched in-between blocks that included masterpieces/expeditions. However, after checking TCGplayer she really isn't that expensive; Currently the cheapest LP copy is under $5
Eldritch Moon was the best set printed between Khans of Tarkir and Guilds of Ravnica, with several modern playable cards (Selfless Spirit, Bedlam Reveler, Collective Brutality, Spell Queller), but it was a small summer set, making it the least opened set that year.
For Gisela, she was reprinted in the From The Vault flip cards, so her price will be relatively stable for the next few years.

All is Dust as a rare is pushing me into building some eldrazi tron. Chalices have been kinda plummeting in price. That thing used to be $60, I bought one copy around $45 last month, now the M25 versions are down to mid 30s.
Some of them, absolutely. I'm certainly happy that Runed Halo will come down. Cards that are up there due to a single printing seem to annoy me on principle.
I kind of cackled at Back to Basics. That's going to be just like True-Name in Battlebond. The base card will be a reasonable price the a foil is going to well up there. At least until all the Miracles and Stoneblade players get their copies.
Why Tasigur as the box topper? They have all of this in the set, and they picked Tasigur... and not even the GOOD banana Tasigur, but the girly man wierd Tasigur. Yes, I know he is always wierd and girly, but no Banana?!
