I am in the market to purchase kalitas, Lilliana the lost hope and collective brutality in paper and online.
Shoulda wait until rotation in September for both paper and MTGO?
I suggest to buy the Collective Brutality as soon as you can. Mine were given by a friend a few months ago, I think they were 5$ each at that time... and now they're 10 dollars. Could possibly rise more since they're played in a lot of decks.

Kalitas and Liliana will both drop after rotation. Collective Brutality is unlikely to fall much if at all. The card sees no competitive standard play and is used in like 10 modern decks plus legacy play and there is really no replacement for it. I would expect a small dip followed by a rise as people buy and hold.
Thanks for the update.
Is the economy the same on mtgo as in paper? I just started mtgo and am getting familiar with the mtgo economy.
They tend to follow the same general trends up and down particularly with rotation, but online cards tend to lose a lot of value particularly once the redemption period ends. If you check out mtggoldfish they actually track the value over time of cards for modo/paper and even do it for sets so you can see how they look. Heres Dark ascension for example https://www.mtggoldfish.com/index/DKA#paper
Anyone know what is going to happen with the allied check lands once they rotate into standard? Are they just going to go up in price due to standard inflation or will they keep their current prices due to all the prior printings? I'm trying to think of another land that has rotated in and out like this before in standard but the only thing close are the pain lands.

They'll go down, but not by too much. They've been printed plenty of times, and they're not that good to begin with. If you need them for a deck you'd be better off buying them now and playtesting rather than waiting months to save a buck. Unless you're really into whatever the new art is.
What swords will people play the most in modern if Stoneforge gets unbanned? Will the general equipment-package be one batterskull and two swords or one batterskull and one sword?
What makes you think Stoneforge Mystic will be unbanned? Ever since I started playing this game, every unban announcement is preceded by Stoneforge speculation. And every time, the announcement passes without being it being unbanned.
Modern is in a good place right now, other than control being a tad nerfed - and I think Wizards likes it that way.
There are THREE Masters sets expected (2 having been announced) in the next year. It is hard to see them rocking the boat with a Stoneforge unban until they see how the reprints and Ixalan change things. I'd expect a Mind Sculptor unban first, honestly.
At this point, I think Stoneforge Mystic is a pipedream. Would be a boost for Cheeri0s decks, maybe too much, which has to be taken into consideration as well.

It's like clockwork, man; chatter about SFM and JtMS unbans start to pick up before every B&R announcement and then dissipate shortly after. Take a look at SFM's long-term value timeline; it's remarkable how almost every peak is directly correlated with that year's (or however they structure it now) B&R announcement. Great time to unload any extra copies you have laying around.

Well, I didn't say I think it will be, I said IF it gets unbanned. If you go to the banned/unbanned poll-thread, you'll see SFM has the highest number of votes for unbanning, so if that's any kind of indicator of what magic players feel is safe for modern, an unbanning just might happen. And that would affect card prices. Discussion of why it should or shouldn't be unbanned belongs in other threads.
Any Fish players here? Curious to hear opinions on whether any of the Merfolk spoiled from the new standard set are modern-playable, and if so, if you think they will draw more players to the archetype? If that were the case, I could see Aether Vial take a nice price hike; although, it's one of the cards I'm expecting to be reprinted in one of the two Masters sets WotC has on deck. Similarly, I'm curious if it will drive up demand for other pieces in the deck, notably: master of the pearl trident, Harbinger of the Tides (foils), Master of Waves, etc?
Mirror Gallery will stay high as a flavor win favorite with casual players, but the other two will drop. Untaidake can't tap for mana other than for 2 for legenday spells and any planeswalker deck is going to have a lot of other control spells not to mention walkers are all color intensive. It will spike and crash. Shaku is a 3 mana colorless ramp in decks trying to play 4 drops. It'll crash just as quickly.
They'll all fall, but Untaidake will be the surprise winner in the Giddeon.dec of the future. It's a sol land, as such it is always just one deck away.

best joke ever
Cheeri0s has already too much equipment, a tutor is useless
Not at all. A tutor allows them to run less equipments, and instead start running answers in the main for decks that cause problems.

The problem with Untaidake however is that you can't use it for mana for anything but your Legendary cards. Meaning if it is going to see play, it'll most likely be in a deck with Urborg. And honestly, I don't think that's gonna make the price spike or stay spiked :\

I think if anything is going to bring more Fish players in, it'll be from the Merfolk vs Goblin deck. Though having some Fish in the new set won't hurt.
Kopala I imagine will see some play, at least to start with. In Mono U Fish it's fighting for those flex spots with Kira/Vendilion's so who knows how long that'll last.

Is now the best time to buy tarmogoyf or are they likely to go down in price even more?
If you can get them for less that $60, I'd do it. It's very unlikely they show up in the next two premium products, and even if they did it won't crash the price much from here. Goyf may be at its bottom right now. I wouldn't speculate on them, though. Just buy what you need. Fatal Push is still a card and until players figure out a way to neutralize it, Goyf won't be good again.

WoTC, thank you for finally announcing the Modern format, an eternal format where everyone can participate.

The best option is in a casual EDH deck where you can use it to cast your general turn two. So Jank Azusa, Lost but Seeking

Goyf is still one of the best options at 2CMC. Fatal Push might have hurt its position in the metagame, but it's still a 4x in many mid-range or CoCo decks. The change in the Planeswalker rule might give a second wind to BGx decks, since they will be able to run both 3cmc Lilis at the same time.
That said, I agree with your conclusion: buy if you need them, don't speculate on them. The fan base of Magic is on a downward slope, due mostly to the many problems of standard and the changes in rotation alienating many young players. There is no guarantee Modern Staples will go up in price, since they we are also seeing more reprints.

Having survived like five "this is the end of magic" periods, I gotta say that's a little hyperbolic. Standard issues have largely passed, and the current format is being extolled by basically everyone. Modern is basically immune to those issues, as well.
