Who would have thought we'd ever see an Uncommon do that in this day of massive print runs?
What massive print runs are you talking about? Wotc changed how the print sets years ago to stop having so much product left over.
From the way it was explained to me, before the change, Wotc printed X amount of product and it was a large amount. Very rarely did they have to do another printing to fill orders.
Now they print X amount to fill all the initial orders. The second printing comes only when they have enough orders to have another run. Very rarely do they do 3rd runs.

Foils are still extremely reasonable with half a dozen or so on tcgplayer under 80$. The price disparity between regulars and foils is unusually low, with the standard copy rising. Although, even with that rise, it's considerably less money than it was before the reprint.
If you need them, buy them asap. If you can afford foils, they are low by comparison (and cheaper than regular copies from 2 months ago).
So between fatal push and Kolaghan's command is it possible that there is still money to be made in speculating on modern cards these large print run sets?
(Yes I realize that fatal push see's play in standard too)
(No I don't speculate for money, I just like to pick up cards in trades if I think they have potential to be played in modern)
Value is good. But Dredgevine isn't supposed to be about value. It's supposed to be about V-8; 2000 pounds of nitro boosted war vegetables. The more velocity, the better.

I personally think there is still room for growth on both Fatal Push and Kolaghan's Command. If you can pick them up in trades where you're not giving up anything you're attached to, I would definitely do it....

Started in Ice Age...got both old and new, from Power 9 to Present Day sets...just ask or name a card!
The time to buy Kolaghan's Command was 5-6 months ago when it was $5. It's tough to justify buying in at $15... I don't think it will be worth more than $20 for quite a long time, if it ever hits that mark again. As for Fatal Push, it's a great card that will hold plenty of value over time. But it's also not thematically tied to a plane and could be reprinted at any time. It's probably not going to be cheaper than $5 until it's inevitably reprinted, so if you want them to play, it's not going to get any better for picking them up. I would personally invest in them beyond what I need to play though.

There seems to be a price difference on TCGplayer, SCG and eBay.
SCG has them at around $50. TCGplayer has sellers at $40 but the market price and medium price is about $50. Ebay is selling them for around $40 each.
Is anyone buying them at around $50? Will the eBay prices for Mishra's Bauble eventually end up increasing to $50 each?
Does anyone know what is up with the TCGplayer marketprice/medium price and the sellers? They seem to be in different price ranges.
DSJ will eat a ban in likely less than a year. Its meta numbers will go the way all good decks go and then it will be banned. The real question is what will get hit. DS, Bauble and Traverse are all reasonable targets. I don't think they would take something from the base jund list because that has been proven to be fair. I lean away from DS being targeted because its such a situational card. The problem though, is every deck finds it self there so it will have many homes. I do kinda doubt it will be so many that it becomes an issue. Traverse is essentially Goyf/DS 9-12. In a delirium build it is pretty sick. On the plus side, delirium isn't exactly easy to attain and maintain. DSJ makes it look easy but that is only because the entire deck is geared towards it. Bauble is a perfect little trinket for getting an artifact into the yard and replacing itself all for zero mana. It's the only card in the format that can do that. I think that paints a pretty big target.

Death's Shadow does not need a ban right now in my opinion. It is definitely a top deck and shapes the meta like any other top deck would. But it also helps keep the meta rock/paper/scissors in its own little way. It does seem very splashable in many decks and for that reason, the only ban that would make sense if something did get banned would be Death's Shadow. It would be a ban very similar to the Wild Nacatl ban and that right there could also be a reason for Wizards failing to act on Death's Shadow.

Oh yeah, I don't think it's gonna be banned soon. I question if DS itself will be banned mainly because the situation it becomes oped in is also a bit problematic for the player using him. Bauble to me feels more bannable. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm not even really arguing with you but Bauble is such a strangely unique card. I mean, maybe that is how it will stay in the format. There isn't anything really like it. I mean, are there any other cards in mtg that cost zero and replace themselves? That is crazy good. Traverse I bring up because it is essentially a better GSZ or more correctly a better worldly tutor in DSJ. That's really good for modern..

Anyway, scalding tarns continue to slowly go up with only slight downward corrections here and there. If I was in the market for them I would jump at any chance to get them at $50. The price gap between zendikar and MM17 versions has literally vanished; maybe $1 difference tops.
I feel like pre-order season is a never ending struggle of damage control trying to stop people from making stupid decisions on pre-ordering over priced singles. It's like no one thinks about what they are going to do with the darn card, they just see a shiny playable card and are like "oh! super OP planeswalker!" with zero deck building or thought going into that assessment. How many Chandra, Torch of Defiance incidents is it going to take?

Good luck on that one. I doubt the future standard all star is going to drop below 20 anytime soon, given how back breaking having 3 standard legal Gideon is and not a whole lot of ways to deal with him.
I got a feeling you should be able to pick up Ally of zendikar for cheap relatively soon, though.
