I think it'll drive enough demand to raise prices like thoughtseize, fulminator, etc
But you're right
On the other hand, mtgo had shadow go up to 9%, and it's still a hefty price on mtgo, I wouldn't underestimate people. Jund/Junk is also a desirable deck for people coming from standard, seeing all the creatures and removal
What is the ceiling for something like bauble? Is there a precedent for what its price is likely to do from past indications?
I can't think of a single uncommon in Modern that has reached such ridiculous prices.
Aether Vial is pretty comparable.
Casual use and a 4 of in a top tier deck, and it's been in the $40-$50 range for years now despite a FTV, MM at rare, and masterpiece.
Bauble strikes me as a ridiculous card to hold the price that it's currently commanding, but it's a great enabler for several powerful cards and other artifacts with similar levels of play have held the price.
Ah yea, that's a good one. But Vial was always way too good for an uncommon anyway and got upshifted in rarity. Bauble is just.. Bauble.
What if WotC feels the same way and prints it as a two of in an upcoming dual deck? Would be a fun time to watch the forums...

Why did the price of Mishra's Bauble drop? And what does reprinting Séance have to do with anything?
The temporary spike may have been seen as ridiculous and people stopped buying them. If people stop buying them, new sellers continue to undercut the current sellers until an equilibrium is found.
Seance may be a middle finger to the guy who purposefully and deliberately tried to buy up and destroy all copies of it. At least I think that's what it was.
So now that we are getting more fetches, do you think the shocklands will finally spike? I know there are a lot of them, but they have not had any real movement since RTR, and that was a long time ago at this point, a lot of new players have gotten to Modern, pretty much everyone is always willing to trade for them, so it's not just about decks not needing them, it seems like every other card played in the format has gone up or been reprinted since then. I don't want to sound greedy, I am not looking for a huge profit on them, I just picked up quite a few extra (like a second playset of each, not hundreds) with the idea in mind that when the Fetches came back I would be able to trade one for one. I don't expect that for the ZEN fetches, but Khans was also hugely opened and Mires are another 50% up from Vents. At what point do they go up???

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Unlikely to spike but will likely creep up slowly. The demand for modern created by MM3 will push up demand for staples like shocklands and khans fetchlands.
Also because shocks unlike fetches are not generally required in playsets except for 2 colour decks. Eg: Grixis control, 2 vents, 2 grave, 1 crypt but 4 tarns and 4 delta.
But I don't see them reaching a 1:1 trade value for 6 months (very generous estimate) at least.
Edit: actually no on second thought they are unlikely to ever be at a 1:1 value
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
I was looking at Fulminator Mage and I'm sort of wondering what advantage this has over Molten Rain. It's a 2/2 that you play turn 3, meaning it gets chump blocked by everything alive at turn 4 and the only thing I could think of doing with it otherwise is blocking something and then sacrificing it to kill a land, but if I'm doing that it's turn 4 already. Why not just use Molten Rain?
The price on it seems like it's purely from limited supply unless I'm missing something.

Mostly, it's much better when you're applying a lot of pressure and disruption (attrition matches like Jund), and can loop it back with K-Command. And it fits into non-red black decks, and even in BRx decks is considerably easier to cast. Red is often a splash color, so RR often comes at the price of an extra shock or of screwing up your mana for at least a few turns.
Also, Living End. Not sure if that drives prices, but it maindecks 4.

Thanks, that explains it a bit. I think it's a great card for modern, but it seemed kind of slow for burn, which is what I was looking at. If jund is using it than that alone is why it is expensive. Jund is like the VIP club of decks and it seems like anything played in that deck just goes into the sky.

Fulminator Mage is also better against Valakut decks because it can sit there and attack into them each turn. They often don't actually play a Valakut until they try to go off and having Fulminator on the battlefield allows you to kill the land at instant speed.
I bought a playset of Cavern of Souls for $94 last night - there's no way it's going to stay as low as $40, is there?
I would've jumped on that in a heart beat. Unless the rumors are true of an increased supply, Caverns biggest drawback that its now Mythic and sought after by many across multiple formats.

May I ask where do you get this price? EBay price is much highernthan that.
One of my local stores sells at Card Kingdom prices ($40 each) but in Canadian dollars, so $23.50 each is the converted US price after tax. Hadn't planned on dropping that much cash (espcially after I balked at $7.50 for Eidolons) but seemed almost too good to be true. Lucky too, a guy just happened to be selling a collection there by consignment, the store doesn't usually have such good stuff.
Is $40 per a good price to pick up a play set of verdant catacombs?
Give it a little time to see what happens. The advice I've been given is to wait until after the set releases and at least a week or two to see how the price trajectory goes on those cards. Right now they just got spoiled and we've seen the initial price cut of people dumping existing Zendikar copies. Wait until the MM2017 ones start getting out there.

Where did you see Bauble at $60? I looked on SCG, CFG, and TCG player and they were all at $35-$40. Did it go down $20 in a day?
Right? Wouldn't put it passed them. They did give investors/market-manipulators a "**** you" in the form of a Seance reprint.
