Could there be some sort of trix package in modern? If we add cards that cause the opponent to lose the game some sort of deck could be worked out.
So far I have Leveler and Phage the Untouchable, if you give either of these to the opponent and break the egg you win.
Are there other cards in this vein?
Also, you can play things like your Worldspine Wurm or Emrakul with the egg too. This would keep your opponent guessing and maybe even have them crack the egg for you.
You'd need the Trader and the Egg and a creature and something to break the egg.
That's a lot of work! Why not just use Immortal Coil?
A few reasons: The deck is most likely playing red with the bazaar trader, so there are no shortage of ways to break the egg.
Even with the trader on the board your opponent will never be sure if the egg contains an Emrakul or a Phage. So you get to play some mind games with them.
There is no reason that a deck with this couldn't use immortal coil as well. Gives it more options.
There is some fun in putting cards face down in exile that your opponent won't know about.

True, until your opponent blows up your egg in response to you trying to give it to him with Bazaar Trader. Its a neat win-con, it just takes a lot to get going.
this is a fun idea, but unfortunately i think the format is against it for several competitive reasons. the reason trix works so well in the other formats is it uses enchantment to win, enchantment spot removal has and is always been less frequent in magic decks as compared to creature spot removal. with summoner's egg being a creature you don't even have an advantage game 1, most decks have creature removal in the mainboard, extra in the sideboard. compared to enchantment spot removal usually enchantment removal is in the sideboard, if in the 75 at all. game 2 your opponent will bring in more creature removal for egg.

Ya I was thinking it would be fun. I guess to all the egg breaking potential, you'd want to run Emrakul and Worldspine Wurm. Other high casting cost creatures as well. At this point if they break your egg you get Emrakul for 4. So to play the deck well, you'd have to work on your poker face.

You could also use Clone shell as another egg.
