Dust Bowl and Pernicious Deed would be very bad for Modern; they both push huge sections of decks out of viability. I haven't played anything but Modern in a long time, but I used to play with both of those cards (they're two of my favorites). In Modern, Dust Bowl tricks would dominate the late game of anything built to go long. Pernicious Deed would annihilate pretty much every aggro deck, as well as anything else relying on cheap permanents like Lantern. It's not like GB really needs better tools to grind hard. Plus, both Bowl and Deed would (as it currently stands) need to make it through Standard first, so don't hold your breath for these two.
Pillage is also an old favorite of mine, and I don't think it would be too good for Modern. However, it is certainly not what Wizards wants to be doing in today's Standard, so again, don't wait around for this one.
I guess WoTC won't like 3 mana land destruction in Standard. Still... I'm hoping something would get "pillaged" in return to Dominaria... so they reprint the card. Just joking.
The last print of Pillage in Standard is 7th Ed. It just missed the cut by a little.. because Modern started at 8th ed.
I think Regrowth could easily be reprinted without damaging Modern or Standard. It was one of the original "restricted in Vintage, banned in everything else" cards, but over time it lost its Vintage restriction and has been unbanned in Legacy for some time. It sees almost no play, because decks in those formats don't operate the way the used to and they just have no need for the card. I'm not even sure it would see a lot of play in Modern, but it would be cool to have it available anyway. I also think, while it would see a fair amount of use in Standard, it would not be degenerate in any way, so that obstacle to reprinting is surmountable.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
Shardless is a sweet card, but unfortunately I just can’t see being added.
Strix however is a pushed card but fairer than fair. I’d love to see that creepy bird in the best format.
Agent would most likely never see it due to being a cascade card sadly. would be awesome tho for some decks to play since it's easy to kill in modern.
Strix i honestly am surprised has never seen print yet. It gives UB a lot of whats needed on one card.
Yup, my thoughts exactly on both. The really nifty thing about Strix is that it does a ton of work for the slower reactive UB decks that pretty much suck (giving them a proactive early play), but it's so low pressure that the chances of it powering up more powerful decks like Shadow are pretty slim. Also that would be spicy AF for the struggling Tezzeret shell.
(I say as someone who has and plays both Grixis Control and Grixis Shadow.)

I feel it would be better in tezzeret then in grixis, but i would probably play it in both. It's kinda sad not to be able to add anything to an argument, but we honestly have the same ideas anyway. I have always thought that both UB and UG need a few good one and/or two drops for them both to be viable. They have always felt just a couple cards short of being powerful like other color combinations.

Damn, for some odd reason I posted it on the wrong thread...
Given the return to Dominaria, I'm crossing fingers hard so we get a Wirewood Symbiote reprint. Elves are a fringe strategy at best and nobody respects them. The fact that reusing Reclamation Sage or Elvish Visionary sounds like casual play compared to Shaman of the Pack shenanigans just make me drool. That said, Symbiote would probably move Elves to tier 1 along Humans without breaking the format.
Kind of an aside here, but... everyone talks about one of the main obstacles of reprinting cards for Modern being that it has to be considered how it would affect Standard.
Well, I think if you look at that issue, you will realize that we're assuming that an aspect of expansion sets is the way it is only because it's always been that way. But we've seen evidence of the contrary. New cards don't have to be legal in Standard.
Commander sets are legal in Legacy and Vintage. They add new cards to those formats, and those new cards never have to worry about "passing through Standard". So with that in mind, they could create a set where the cards are legal in Modern, Legacy, and Vintage, but not in Standard (Unless it's something already legal in Standard). They could use this set to reprint all kinds of things that would be great in Modern but cause problems in Standard. They could even print new cards specifically made to match the power level of Modern without worrying about how they would affect Standard.
I mean, hell... they could release a set containing new cards only for Vintage, on the same power level as the cards that make Vintage worth playing. Not saying they should, just that there are a lot of options here. The idea that the cards would ruin Standard is based on a faulty premise.

The reason people assume that was because WotC repeatedly stated that they had no intention of letting cards into Modern via anything other than Standard. However, the mood around that has started to change after Maro's recent tweet on the subject, which is AFAIK the first time they've ever said anything other than "No. Full stop."

If Innocent Blood gets reprinted, I'll hold a minute of silence for Bogles.
Pernicious Deed should be a Golgari card in the next Ravnica set. Might be good at wiping boards. Meekstone was one set short of making it to Modern... wouldn't technically break standard but yeah, not going to happen.
Anyone having a "Crap, that's in the Reserved List" moment. Just confirmed that Drop of Honey and Recycle are there. Too bad, we will need strictly better new cards to replace them.

If you don't care about color, you can just play Porphyry Nodes and Null Profusion. Although I don't know why you would want to play Recycle/Null Profusion in Modern anyway.

I know of the colorshifted versions but being a green player I'd gleefully welcome either card. Ramp / Big Mana decks could include Recycle in the SB against control, I've seen Amulet Titan bringing in Ruric Tar so it's on the realm of possibility. "You never run out of gas" is a heartwaring text.
Admittedly Porphyry Nodes is better suited for the white decks than Drop of Honey for the green ones but chipping out pesky chump blockers over the course of the game would be nice.
And YES Null Profusion's flavor text is easily one of the best ever.
I would like to see Baleful Strix as it is just a nice clean non-threat for control, that helps hold things down for a bit. I would also like to see Swords to Plowshares brought in. It is my favorite spell (outside of Moat, but that will not be reprinted ever so...). Council's judgement would also be good. While the actual card is unlikely to see print in a standard set, a functional reprint could be achievable.
