In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.

Dear God no! I have a brand new Asus i7.
I dont play on Cockatrice because
1) It's godawful - and that's saying something considering I play on MTGO
2) It makes me feel like I am doing something wrong, which takes any fun out of it for me.
You're welcome to that opinion but as these tournies are expressly for testing in the modern community then having to blow money seems counter intuitive (as everyone will just play their MTGO modern decks and hello stale metagame).

I confirm. It was night, so the animals at the zoo were asleep... Or there wasn't enough land to build a zoo on. But either way, it was a great fun match-up

To be fair, you had a good position for recovery if I whiffed on that topdeck.
I kinda derped myself thinking you drawing a lone BTE (for the rest of you, there was a lot of back and forth between Goblin Guides in g2) wasn't going to spiral into the board position you vommed out. I had Celestial Purge in hand for one but there I was thinking "what could possibly go wrong?" It could've gone very VERY wrong!
The bracket has been finalised, so please check the post and send in your decklists for verification if your name is in black, and let us know if we've missed you. Apologies for the lateness, we've had some issues with the staffing + the website change has muddled the inbox among other things. The due date for round 1 has been extended to the 15th.

That's how we do it. It's unfortunate that you don't play in our tournaments. We are always looking for more players in the community.
The way I feel about Cockatrice is that it's just like playing table top. People make mistakes, miss triggers and what not. That is a part of the game. Playing in an environment where you have reminders for everything will make you less aware of triggers and how things go on the stack. Even though Cockatrice doesn't have that added complexity that MTGO has, I find it better prepares you for when you are playing real life major events. Now don't get me wrong. MTGO has daily events and it seems generally better players skill wise, which makes for better testing.
The best thing we Cockatrice players have for competition are these IQ events. On the plus side, I've gotten to know many people in the Modern community because of these tournaments, and that has given me plenty of people to play with regularly. Some of us have even come to know each other for things other than magic, and personally I hope to remain in contact with them for years down the road.
I recommend you give it a try. At worse, you just wasted some time.
perhaps due to some poor sideboarding choices by my opponent...Thanks for the games! and thanks Lantern for watching and clarifying birthing pod rules...

Apparently my deckcode isn't right, and I can't find the PM I sent with it. Here is my updated code for this month - I think it must have gotten lost in the forum transition or something.

Though Id rather it be my hello nacatl one
I might be tempted to play Zoo though, as the deck is even better now.
If I haven't sent in my decklist, I'll sort it out when I get back from work.

EDIT: note that the B&R changes will be in effect for the March IQ (that is, Deathrite Shaman is banned; Wild Nacatl and Bitterblossom are unbanned).

I've turned chat on, just in case I make a play error that a judge wants to comment on.
