Hey, I've been looking for a decent alternate deck too play when I get bored of playing my main one.
Favourite playstyle: Aggro, but open to trying something else
Type of player: 70% Timmy, 20% Johnny, 10% Spike
Decks Currently Playing: Naya Zoo, Hatebears
Decks I hate playing against: UWR Control,
Favourite Colours: GREEN, red, black, white, blue (in that order)
Budget: Unlimited
Staples Owned: have most modern staples, but not many blue ones.
How Competitive: Mostly FNM, but with tournament potential (not expecting to top8 or anything but want to do reasonably well once I get to know the deck)
Favourite parts of gameplay: small creatures, big creatures, lands, ramp, blowout wins, non-traditional combos, alternate win conditions, obscure strategies.
I once built a Jund deck because I liked all the cards that were in it, but soon found out that I didn't actually enjoy playing it. I don't like blue, but I'll play it as long as two other colors are next to it in a deck. I'm a Timmy at heart, and aggro is my thing, but I'm open to trying something else.
Affinity and Burn seem like the obvious choices for an aggro player. Burn is the cheaper of the two, but once you have the Mox Opals it's pretty cheap.

Sup, I've been playing hatebears for a long time now, and am sick of it.
Looking for a new deck, ideally some aggressive midrange deck, with a decent amount of interaction, that does not need goyfs.

I tested out UR Twin and honestly, didn't like it how fragile it is if you remove the combo. I am just wondering, what is another good deck that includes the following?

Now, I do know that I have some of the makings for a mono black infect deck. Would this be a good option to get started with? Or should I just use the 3 Liliana of the veil as trade fodder to make a perfectly good deck? I would rather have a "complete" deck, than one with a bunch of crap and 6 good cards.
My play style is pretty open. I have done a lot of aggro and board control/midrange. Again, I am looking for something that is forgiving to get me started.
Budget: As low as possible. 50.00 maybe on what I have in trades
FNM worthy
You could play Mono Black Infect with 4 Phyrexian Crusader, discard, and Runechanter's Pike. It is decent at the FNM level. You will need Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek for the best version or use Distress and Duress for a budget version. Having Liliana of the Veil would be pretty sweet in the deck. With your cards, you could possibly splash Abrupt Decay if you have fetch lands. You may even do the singleton Skithiryx to catch people off guard.
Make sure you have hate cards for the top decks of your meta and the discard should do the rest.

How good would you say that UB Faeries is right now? What are its weak matchups? It's a well-known deck and kind of a classic, and it has a relatively active thread in Established, yet I rarely see it around online or at my LGS.

I can't imagine it has a good burn match up? That kinda hampers it a lot.
Now it is true rug delver is probably the better deck but I have played tarmotwin for a while and am in absolute love with the deck. I am trying to decide though which deck I should play for consideration at a gpt this saturday. Both decks have my favorite cards in them (Goyf, clique, SCM, cryptic) but slightly different strategies with the twin deck being preferred. I am at a loss as I want to play tarmotwin but dont know if I will have fun if it isn't good right now.

Favourite playstyle: Tempo I guess? I started out playing mainly aggro a few years ago (Tempered Steel/RDW) but last season started playing Mono U Devotion and enjoyed playing counterspells for the first time while also really liking playing all of the spells in Burn. I am currently playing Jeskai Tempo in Standard and love the ability to play burn spells with a few good creatures and then transition into a more controlling deck with counterspells and ways to interact with the board. I suppose I went from really enjoying curving out 1 drop 2 drop 3 drop to liking more spells and interaction and the versatility of a non mono-colored deck.
Decks Currently Playing: Merfolk (Modern) Goblinless Guide Burn (Modern) Jeskai Tempo (Standard)
Decks I hate playing against: Haven't played against combo much but didn't really care for it
Favourite Colours: URW
Budget: $50 per month (and trade stuffs)
Staples Owned: Modern Merfolk cards
How Competitive: Mostly FNM
Favourite parts of gameplay: Lots of choices, interaction, being proactive with the ability to react.
I built Merfolk last year before all of the cards got more expensive and have played it against Burn with my wife but have never really competed with it. I like aspects of the deck, but I am leaning away from such creature-heavy decks now. I am thinking of trading these cards towards UR Delver. Is this a deck where knowing the meta is very important? I probably won't be able to play it regularly or keep up with the metagame constantly. That's also a thing I didn't like about Merfolk. Reading what others have said knowing the meta is pretty important in running the deck well.
I love midrange decks, but I have a sort of obsession with control decks.
The ideal midrange deck would be the GB rock, but goyfs are too expensive. I tried making the new deadguy ale deck that's seeing some play now, but I'm not sure it can be a tier 1 deck. What do you guys think?
I like Esper colors and I proxied the Esper Control primer deck but it seems too reactive for me, I kinda got bored. I tried making a more proactive version but when I'm searching for cards I always feel like it's missing something.
Maybe the American control deck is the deck for me. That definitely is a tier 1 deck, right?
yes id say UWR is very competative maybe not tier 1 but definatly tier 1.5 and will continue to be. It may not be the BEST deck but the stragies in that color are solid and have game vs just about everything with some bad matchups. there cards +40 which are cryptics and tarns but everything else should be within the price range and you already have a start with helixes, bolts, paths restos and angels. Although a pure control version is probably not the best for you I could see a more proactive version with more burn and restos as viable. COuld also go down to geist of saint traft if you want midrange.

Well, there are no other playable artifact decks. You can play Eggs if you like losing as much as your UB Tezzeret deck does. The only playable artifact decks are Affinity and Tron variants (RG, UW, Mono U).
Outside of that, you may find solace in UWR Control/Midrange. It seems like it could be up your alley. It's sad it doesn't coincide with your favourite cards or colours but you have to live with it if you want to be competitive.
What's a good deck to play for fun-hating masochists whose desire to make their opponent's Magic experience absolutely miserable is only trumped by their own self-loathing? I'm talking about the closest modern equivalent to Doomsday Fetch-Tendrils in legacy. Budget, colors, playstyle, competitiveness, all of those things are trifling and irrelevant. I have no favorite cards--I hate all of them. All I want is something that makes me question why I bothered getting out of bed every time I open up my deckbox.

I've been looking at both Twin (cheaper since I own half a playset) or Scapeshift. Which one of the two do you guys think would be the most moldable and reslient through different metas?

We probably haven't different views, but Cruise Burn is that type of deck to me. It seems like why did I even bother sleeving it up, other than to try to win store credit. I may quit playing it out of sheer boredom, but it's also tempting to try to win store credit to purchase Legacy staples.
As for the closest to Doomsday, I don't know. Probably some type of Storm, be it UR Storm or Ascendancy Storm, is your cup of tea.
I have found that many of my opponents HATE playing against my Bogles deck, but I think it is simply because it makes 25% of their cards nearly dead cards in hand. It makes me happy to make Lightning Bolt into a Lava Spike and Snapcaster Mage into an over costed Lava Spike that soaks up 1 trample damage.

You want someone to be really upset playing against you? Boy, have I got a deck for you. Introducing UW Tron. Play Mindslaver lock as a win condition. The deck stalls until you get 12 mana and Academy Ruins in play, and then you Mindslaver repeatedly. Take their turn, tap them out, then put Mindslaver back on top. They get milled and you keep drawing Mindslaver. It's the absolute best way to win.
Playing a combo deck, are you? I'll just waste your combo. Or better yet, I'll kill you.
