I don't think anyone knows what will be seen in faeries right now...
I think Liliana could fit quite well into the right faeries shell. For example, I play UWR midrange and have been testing against faeries. In games where I am on the play and faeries plays a turn 2 bitterblossom (in the rare chance I don't have mana leak or remand), but I play a turn three Geist, faeries loses around 80% of the time. I get to swing on turn 4, and the only way they can try to prevent the 6 damage profitably is by flashing in a spellstutter and double blocking, but at that point I can let it resolve then remove the token or spellstutter.
Lets say they played around removal and perhaps played a scion and didn't block. I still remove the scion on my turn 4 with counter mana or removal mana up. The next turn I'm looking at 2 tokens as I most likely countered whatever else they attempted to play. If I have one more removal spell and they double block here, their board is wiped at they have, at most, 8 life remaining and the game is over right there...
Now, if instead of scion or spellstutter or even V-Clique they had played Liliana on turn 3 and minus 2'd her, I'm essentially down for the count with no way out of it...
Liliana is a 3 mana walker that can lock down a game...something that is right in faeries wheelhouse. I think it is very possible they could play her, but we'll have to see how the deck unfolds. I know I gave a very specific situation, but since UWR won the last grand prix and only got stronger with the DRS ban, I think this is something to consider...
Faeries also has no card-draw, wants its counterspells to remain in its hand instead of in the graveyard, and doesn't want to tap out on turn 3 to play an edict. If anything, they'd play Devour Flesh. Liliana's +1 isn't good in Faeries. Without a good way to use it, she is just overcosted sorcery-speed removal.
I'm sure hoping WoTC has some contingency plans in regards to Bitterblossom's sky rocketing price, like the event deck. Grixis Fae has caught my interest and I may want to build if BB is reprinted.
Lily will not drop a lot in price. Regardless of where BGx/Jund stands amongst all the other decks she is still the best planeswalker in Modern and also used extensively in Legacy as well.

I agree there's a chance that it won't see play in fae, but I do think there's valid arguments both ways. I read Caleb Durward's most recent article the other day and he had it as a two-of but I'm assuming that list is untested, and I think he mentioned he wasn't sure about it. Wondering if anyone has seen people testing it out.
I'm sure hoping WoTC has some contingency plans in regards to Bitterblossom's sky rocketing price, like the event deck. Grixis Fae has caught my interest and I may want to build if BB is reprinted.
It has to be in that event deck. It has 5 double-sided tokens in it - one side should be BB faeries and the other side should be spirits. It will be a B/W token deck, which is a perfect entry deck for new players since it's strategy isn't too foreign from recent standard decks. I'd be surprised if it was anything else.
With regards to the Jund players that feel slighted, I can understand being disappointed. But, at this point, either innovate with those colours that you cherish or move onto a new "dominant" deck. If you truly enjoyed Jund, then this should be taken as a challenge. Prove everyone wrong now that Jund sits in a "underdog" (that's probably an overstatement) position in the meta.
Any thoughts on what [card]River of Tears[card] will settle at?
Hard to say, it will really depend upon how UBx faeries does during modern season. If it shows poorly it may drop a few bucks down to the 4-5 range, but if the deck even shows half way decently I'd say it is staying at 7+, and will probably rise slowly until a re-print (if a re-print ever happens).
I've noticed that both Griselbrand (40) and thundermaw hellkite (20) have doubled in price on mtgo recently and they're both sitting at double the price of their paper versions.
The last card that I can think of that was significantly above paper was threads of disloyalty which was almost trip-le the price of the paper version for the longest time.
THey've both evened out now.
Any thoughts on whether Griselbrand and Thundermaw hellkite paper prices going to catch up to the MTGO prices?
If I had to guess, I'd say the paper prices will probably catch up with the MTGO prices in a few weeks.
Thundermaw going up because everyone expecting Bitterblossom tokens flying everywhere
Griselbrand rising because of Deathrite ban making reanimator more reliable.
Because of the Pro Tour Modern prices are going to go up for a while, at least until the season is over.
I'm really hoping that some cards go down in price as I really want to get some fetches...

I'm actually anticipating it getting unbanned one day down the line.
Nothing immediate, but since Legacy does play it it's pretty much win-win either way.
Though I probably should've waited for RTR to rotate out of Standard if I wanted to minmax my investment...
So out of curiosity, anyone else here on the post-ban DRS long haul investment train?
I'm not selling my paper copies (I think I have five or six), but I am not buying either. I tend to not sell my cards and instead keep them just in case. I have a few TNN, Shardless Agent, and other such cards used primarily in legacy, but doubt I will ever sell or trade them just in case I play Legacy some day. I wouldn't say I'm a collector, maybe just a mild MTG hoarder.

DRS has a major home in Legacy nowadays, so if you ever feel like playing anything using black in Legacy he'll be useful. I think his price will stabilize around $5.00 low, $10.00 high, which is pretty close to what he's at now (if you ignore the insane $24 high price).
As far as waiting for cards to rotate out of Standard before investing, I was completely counting on doing that with Liliana of the Veil. Instead, I kept seeing the price increase. So, I guess there's other factors involved with the market price - at the time I didn't see a huge demand for Lily in Modern or Legacy, as Jund had just gotten nerfed with BBE being banned in Modern and Blade decks in Legacy running Lily weren't rampant yet (although BUG variants running her were plentiful). At least I got in at the right time for fetches and other staples for both Modern & Legacy that have now skyrocketed...
Would it be better to invest in Shocklands now, or after they rotate from Standard?
Probably won't matter a whole lot, but thought I'd ask.
I second this question. I know I will be playing Modern (and EDH) for a long time, and I will need a lot of shocklands, but I'm not sure whether this is the right time to grab those lands.
I really don't see it mattering right now. Shockland prices have stabilized and should remain consistent for a while, and WotC has made sure they are in plentiful supply with the third "reprintings" in Dragon's Maze. On that note, I would expect to see further reprintings of Shocklands in the future. WotC has made it pretty clear they are supporting Modern, and my prediction is that WotC is setting things up for Modern to replace Legacy once Legacy (eventually) goes the way of Vintage with barrier to entry.
Figured this was the best place to ask this, didn't want to start a thread.
My buddy is offering me two NM Liliana of the Veil's for $35 each. I assume this is a no brainer, but wanted to check with the braintrust on here. They would be going in my Mono Black Control deck. I am not anticipating a price drop on these any time soon which is why I am probably going for the deal.

So, yay or nay?
If you are planning on using them for a deck, and if you really want them, go for it. Liliana of the Veil is $59.99 on TCG mid (what most people do by when doing trades), and what most card shops will charge you if you were to buy it from them. So if you want them, that is a great deal. If you're so-so, then I would save the cash for something else.
Yeah, I picked up two more a few months ago to complete my play set. I can't even imagine playing Jund without four Lilys now. Anyone with some common sense could tell she was going to skyrocket in price.
I love having playsets of things but have never really been one to get foils, all black-border, etc. I was lukcy enough to trade some foil shocklands for some Lilis when RTR and GTC were brand new. Replacing those foil shocks with their regular versions was basically $40, so in my head I got a playset of Lili for $40. I know it's wrong, but that's how I think about it.
The foils were acquired from opening boxes. So, yeah, a lot more money invested than just the $40. But whatevs.
Whats the Spec on Birthing Pod? IMHO I see this as the next BanHammer card...but until then I also expect Very good showings at the upcoming Pro Tour and beyond. I know there is a good amount of copies out there, but personally thought this would have already been in the $15-20 range(thats were I think it will go to now anyways)...thoughts?

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
