As Realmwright enters the battlefield, choose a basic land type.
Lands you control are the chosen type in addition to their other types.
There is not a single inch of Ravnica that hasn't been altered at one point or another to fit someone's whims.
Illus. Slawomir Maniak
Love how he works as a manafixer, and he's great with Lilliana of the Dark Realms. But otherwise is pretty neat.
The Prismatic Omen is already miles better than this card. It's so much harder to interact with and I don't think they want more than 4 in that deck, they need actually spells.
Prismatic omen is better. On the other hand, this can be easier to find in a blue/green deck seeking to abuse cards like flow of ideas or howl of the night pack. Admittedly, green wouldn't really care about finding forests for such a card, but dropping this guy into a flow of ideas is a really large amount of cards to draw. Probably cards like jaws of stone are better, though.
Prismatic Omen is definitely better, but I'll probably be trying it out as a 1-of in my experimental Scapeshift/Gifts Ungiven list. Being able to search up Snapcaster/Noxious Revival/Prismatic Omen/Realmwright is definitely a decent Gifts stack. Even though the deck doesn't need it, sometimes you need to go off w/ 6 lands via Omen or Realmwright. It's nice too because you rarely ever want multiples of Omen/Realmwright, which makes Gifts a viable tutor for the package.
EDIT: Another benefit too is that Realmwright is tutorable via Chord of Calling, which could breed a new type of Scapeshift list focused on creature-based land search like Coiling Oracle, Wood Elves and such. The advantage of this is obviously having more chump blockers when necessary (along with providing another wincon in the form of Kessig Wolf Run).
People say that Prismatic Omen is basically a 2-mana ramp spell. To elaborate, without Omen, you need 7 lands to kill your opponent (Scape for 6 Mountains and 1 Valakut, 18 damage). With Omen, Valakut counts as a Mountain, so you only need 6.
If that's the case, then Realmwright is a 1-mana ramp spell, which is undercosted. Even with Search for Tomorrow you have to wait 2 turns.
The downside is that your opponent can kill Realmwright in response to Scapeshift, causing Valakut to deal 0 damage.
It has blowout potential, but it's also vulnerable and you never want more than 1. It could see play as a 1-of in Scapeshift.

It would be better to let them Scapeshift, and have them rely on him to make their lands into mountains and then kill him. Valakut's trigger requires more than five mountains when it resolves too.
If you kill him in response to scapeshift, they'll just get mountains.

What's the big deal? You could have played multiple Righteous Avengers for years now.

maybe using it to abuse something that needs a particular land type (like mutilate, for example) but i cant think for anything worthy.
