call me repetitive but....temur battle rage still isn't feared enough. even in non-eye candy decks.
most games i played against monob, tokens, elves or goblin boil down to chumpblocking against more aggro decks.
Gurmag Angler, too, gives MBC a solid wall of meat to hide behind/bash with. And Hooting Mandrills is at least playable, if not in the quantities it'd need to be for it to shake up Stompy's game.

Oh, you think the losers' bracket is your ally, but you merely adopted the scrub tier. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t 4-0 an FNM until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but an extra pack to sell for store credit!
does this mean diversity finally goes up? Or is there still too much good blue for that to "really" change things?
Mono-Black control should see a return to the format, slower creature decks like White Weenie and Slivers could possibly see an uptick as well.
Ultimately, Pauper is an eternal format so blue is still going to be the most represented colour.
Anyways I'm about a week late here but good to see WotC actually paying attention to Pauper and getting rid of a clear problem card. TC's exit from the format coupled with them adding mode Pauper dailies to the schedule means I'll probably start playing a bunch more pauper than I have been.
I do get the feeling they're going to have to hit something from the Familiar deck somewhere down the line though so we could see Cloud of Faeries exiting the format too. Even in the TC meta Familiar was still the best deck, just not the most represented.
Cruise may or may not have needed to go. But when previously non-Blue deck, Zoo or Boros Kitty, starts to use their diverse mana to add blue for just 1 card (Cruise), that is a sign of its strength.
People mainboarded more Bojuka Bog in effort to fight... 1 card.
It warped, in some subtle, and other less subtle ways, the format to where it was a 'Catch All', "Hail Mary", or 'Push' card. As a whole, Pauper is my favorite format. It is approachable, mostly balanced, and evolving format. It just felt like the card was TOO accessable because there is no real way to attack a splash blue card advantage card.
If the card were UU, maybe it could have survived. But just 1 blue mana is to easy to play. There were few ways to have parity when 1 deck had it and the other did not. Yes, there are examples of non-Cruise victors, but that is what slowed its ban. Could Delver see banned? Not really. Creatures are the backbone of most formats, so there are easy to find answers. It is annoying to have 4x Hornet Sting, or the like for 1 creature, but there was fewer answers to Cruise.
It always is interesting to see when bans happen in pauper. The information gathered is somewhat scattered, and dependant upon MTGO. They have stopped most unbeatable combo. Familiars is hard to do because it is a non-Storm deck and eats the clock. Poison is fair, and I like the difficulty in proper play. Tron is fair enough. And there is room for control, tempo, and aggro.
I think it was a good call. Doesn't help that one of the YouTube channel's players sacrificed good plays for expedited Cruise.
yeah, well, nothing unexpected. They didn't let the meta adapt so we just went back to past. When all the hype on its banning is gone, we'll be back to the old complaints cascade about the format. I guess you know what I mean...
It's still better than "adapt" to TC, which was splashing blue in every deck to play it or play a lot of hate cards dedicated to it.
I'm not saying it's perfect right now but I'm not unhappy with the current meta. Infect can live without Invigorate and combo can apparently live without storm too so that's fine. New cards in the latest sets are also making their way to the meta and that's fun too.
My own rules when building a Commander deck:
1) Underrated general that I can build around but the deck must work without him/her too.
2) Every card must be legal in both banlists.
3) No infinite combo that could win (and ruin) instantly a multiplayer game.
4) Synergy at all costs; stay on theme, avoid goodstuff.
Every deck splashing for TC or running main TC hate were clear examples of the meta adapting to it.
Actually that's a pretty textbook example of an unhealthy metagame where a ban is necessary. The metagame had devolved into predominately TC and anti-TC strategies which I think most would say doesn't make for very interesting gameplay. As for giving TC an extra cycle, it already got an extra cycle over the other formats it was banned in, how much longer did you want to give it? I think if it stuck around longer all it would have done is further hurt the format.
