The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
The difference is, if you abuse Blade Splicer, you get a new relevant creature every time it comes into play. If you abuse Attended Knight, you get a new crappy 1/1. Sensor splicer is the closest thing to Blade Splicer we're likely to get.

On average, Magic players are worse at new card evaluation than almost every other skill, except perhaps sideboarding.
The Huntbeast could be a 13th & 14th creature for the hexproof aura deck; way better than the 3/1 wolf, which is just kind of sad in an environment where even the control decks run 4-6 creatures minimum. I think I'd rather have the 2/2 flyer in a deck that runs blue, though.
Sentinel Spider seems like more of a reach; I think Penumbra Spider is better in a big green deck, and the 5/6 or 6/7 reach guy (I forget exactly) is at least tutorable by Wild Empath.
And another big stack of mostly reprints and some draft filler, but one interesting addition to the red discard and draw suite:
Wild Guess RR Sorcery - as an additional cost, discard a card.
Draw two cards.
Sucks if it gets countered, and the RR cost gives it a serious downside in a multicolor madness/reanimate deck. On the other hand, it isn't card disadvantage the way faithless looting is.

Its actually card parity, unless it gets countered. I think its most likely home is in mono red ETW storm as a second red draw spell.
Well infect/mono g aggro decks just got a whole lot more accessible - RANCOR REPRINT!!! Even at U, that'll take its price down from 4-6tix to ohhhh, about .05c. It's awesome to see the best enchant creature evar get a reprint.

Outside of blinking scenarios, a 1/1 and a 2/2 with first strike for 2W is a lot more similar to Blade Splicer than a 1/1 and a 3/3 with vigilance for 4W.
Admittedly, though, the jump from a 2/2 to a 3/3 gives Sensor Splicer a lot of credit.

Okay, Gem of Becoming (3 artifact, 3, {T}, Sacrifice Gem of Becoming: Search your library for an Island card, a Swamp card, and a Mountain card. Reveal those cards and put them into your hand. Then shuffle your library.) is terrible, right? I can't think of a cloudpost variant that would want three different basic lands, and I can't think of anything else that would cast this. Good in pauper prismatic?

I could be wrong, but isn't Gem of Becoming uncommon?
Just like Steppe Lynx, War Falcon isn't as great as it seems. White Weenie decks run around 4-12 Soldiers and no Knights so its pretty conditional which isn't something you want in a competitive deck.
Most White Weenie decks run Icatian Javelineers, Loyal Cathar, and Kor Skyfisher which I'm not sure is enough to support War Falcon. In the past, they've run Order of Leitbur, Porcelain Legionnaire, Leonin Skyhunter, Veteran Armorsmith, Ballynock Cohort, and Knight of Sursi so the tools are there. But if you just started swapping out non-tribal creatures for soldiers and knights you'd end up with a deck quite different from current WW decks. I think it would be more aggressive but also less flexible.

It doesn't go straight into a standard WW list, that's true. But I have seen Soldier WW and Knight WW place in the DEs on occasion and this can only help those builds out.

Contraption is a new artifact type. There are currently no artifacts with this type. And there's no current game meaning of "assemble."
I hate to ask this, but does Pauper start paying M13 on release or pre-release?

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Hey guys, I quit magic for the last 3 months or so due to my exams and I was wondering, has there been any major changes to the format during this time?
I likeAttended Knight
Well if you think about it, they release a new set almost every 3-4 months so you really haven't missed anything yet but, you still might want to check out M13 if you haven't fully yet. Rancor is being reprinted as an uncommon which is usable for pauper and will drop the price down too.
So is the Return to Ravinica card considered spoiled for this thread? It IS a common, and the new ability text has some potentially interesting applications in Pauper.
I wanted to play it a bit coy - I'm not sure I like this card in particular, but I was thinking about other cards that might be abusable with the Populate ability (which creates a copy of a token creature). The cards that I could come up with were Giantbaiting, Penumbra Spider, and that landfall expedition card that produces the 7/1 trampler. Plus I guess there are a few 3/3 golem-producing cards out there.
Seems possible for white weenie decks that use a lot of equipment. Probably not as good for what it does as Lone Missionary, but not strictly worse.
Primal Huntbeast 3G 3/3 Hexproof
Sentinel Spider 3GG 4/4 Vigilance Reach

I guess. The picture in the Magic 2013 spoiler at the top of the page is black, but the linked thread says it's uncommon.

Well, I found out last night that it's M12... anyone want 11 M12 packs, going cheap? lol.
