8Post generates way too much colorless mana to care about this guy, and Dragonauts doesn't play enough spells with colorless mana in their costs, but Storm probably wants him - how hard is it for a storm deck to curve into :symu::symr:?
EDIT: This is a legit question, I've never played storm.
Oh, you think the losers' bracket is your ally, but you merely adopted the scrub tier. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t 4-0 an FNM until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but an extra pack to sell for store credit!
Goblin Electromancer is probably good for something, the potential is surely there. If there's good common fixing in RTR and the format moves towards two and three colour decks being more playable, it might even make a new archetype possible. I don't think it slots neatly into an extant deck, but it's a card to watch as the format develops. Might be some interesting version of Post wants it, even; it's extra acceleration that's also a relevant body. The fact that it's a 2/2 for 2 makes it quite good on paper, it just has to find a home.
People who don't play Post constantly overestimate how consistent the Post engine is in Izzet Post decks. As it turns out, Archaeomancer is better than Mnemonic Wall, because that one colourless mana does matter.
A slightly slower dragonauts/kiln fiend deck could emerge around this guy.
Non post counterburn might happen.
Either way this guy is immensely exciting. This is the second common spoiled i believe and it is pretty damn cool. Here's to hoping pauper get's a lot more goodies.
I'm mostly excited about Overload at this point - if there's a simple burn spell or bounce spell with Overload, well, that's Pyroclasm and Evacuation respectively. If there's a counterspell with Overload, that's better anti-Storm tech even.

On average, Magic players are worse at new card evaluation than almost every other skill, except perhaps sideboarding.

a clasm effect or better would greatly effect pauper, even a bounce effect as youve said.

OTOH, I kind of hope they don't make a shatterstorm, because that would pretty much hate Affinity out of the format.
I expect there will be a usable Scavenge creature for G/B Tortured and maybe even Stompy.

Ooh, yeah, I forgot that one! God I would KILL for mass artefact destruction. Affinity is a broken-ass deck and it gets by just fine in Modern where those options exist, so I don't think it would hate the deck out of existence.

Grim Roustabout 1b
Creature - Skeleton Warrior 1/1
Unleash (You may have this creature enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. It can't block as long as it has a +1/+1 counter on it.)
1{B}: Regenerate Grim Roustabout
Can't see it over other aggro creatures in black. Not that mono-black aggro is much used anyway. I kind of doubt there will be an Unleash creature that's constructed playable; maybe if there's a bear with the ability, so you can make it a 3/3 that can't block?
Lots and lots of spoilers, but I wanna focus on this one:
Obviously, there's a ten-card cycle of these across RTR, and they're a huge deal. I can't begin to imagine how much of a big deal, but I'm pretty much going to go grab some rare/uncommon taplands to test it out. I imagine it won't quite make two-colour aggro viable in the format, but being able to run four mana-fixing lands certainly makes the control and midrange decks in the format, especially ones that already run two colours, a lot more consistent.

hrm.. They are obviously very important, but I don't know if they will actually change the format. I don't know any two color decks that want 16 ETBT lands.
I suppose they make 4 color control more viable?
As for other cards:
I'm not sure this is actually good, but Axelbane Guardian combined with Overgrown Battlement could make for a nifty wall ramp deck.
Grisly salvage looks interesting for G/B Tortured Existence. Not sure I'd use it, since it doesn't let you grab TE if it comes up in the 5 cards.
The lands are superior (not quite strictly superior, since they don't thin the deck, and they don't work with cards that care about basic land types) to evolving wilds/terramorphic in a 2-color deck.
I don't think Sluiceway Scavenger is the Scavenge card I'm looking for in a Tortured Existence deck; if the front end was cheaper and 2/1, maybe.
Decks that just aren't consistent enough right now might become possible, like for example Jund. Slivers, WG / UG Hexproof. They're pretty much better than bouncelands and replace them in lists that play those, and you can play more of them than you can play bouncelands. UB Control right now plays 5 etbt lands, it could easily go to 4 Dimir Guildgate, 1 Dimir Aqueduct, 2 Terramorphic Expanse without issue.
Decks that right now aren't really possible might be, even. Gates support double-coloured mana costs much better; Ux Delver could be a thing, when you can play four of the relevant Gates, and slower decks might move into a third colour more easily. UR Post will want two Izzet Guildgates at the very least replacing Evolving Wilds, and I think probably more.
Any deck that plays mana-fixing lands will swap those out for Guildgates at the very least, because they're better than all of those. The improvement you get from that should push some decks over the edge of viability.

I"m thinking of a deck with Axebane Guardian, overgrown battlement, Gatekeeper vine + gates for a splash kind of thing. maybe a post variant. Any thoughts?

You could probably get away with the red splash and focus on some intense burn like Torch or Rolling Thunder, along with your typical Mono-G beaters like the Crusher and Aurochs Herd.
I could see it working but I'm not sure it'd be totally efficient to run that Gate package. You could probably pass on that.
