What happens if you hit Spawnsire of Ulamog while playing with the Momir Vig Avatar? Are you allowed to cast the Eldrazi cards you own outside the game?
6/15/2010 In a casual game, the cards you cast from outside the game come from your personal collection. In a sanctioned event, those cards must come from your sideboard. Note that you can't cast cards from exile this way; exile is a zone in the game.
In a tournament or any sanctioned play (such as you would find on MTGO), "outside the game" means your sideboard. So, if you were playing vanguard and had Eldrazi in your sideboard, I don't see any reason why you couldn't cast them; a token copy of Spawsnire of Ulamog would play just like the actual card. If you were playing Momir Basic, however, then your sideboard can only consist of basic lands, and so it would be useless to activate Spawnsire of Ulamog's second ability because there wouldn't be any Eldrazi available for you to cast.
Real life Vanguard or Momir Basic are both casual formats, and so "outside the game" means your personal collection. In either case, your collection probably includes Eldrazi, and if it does then you can cast them with Spawnsire of Ulamog's second ability. Of course, when playing casually, you and your playmates should probably just agree on whether "outside the game" means your sideboard or your collection before playing (especially since you have a 1-in-14 chance of hitting Spawnsire of Ulamog if you activate Momir Vig for X=10)

Here is the ruling on Spawnsire of Ulamog:
