This event has moved to a new thread and a new day, Saturdays at 3:30pm Eastern.
Thank you, MtGOStock, for being the original sponsor of s100 in its first season and being the current sponsor of Friday Heirloom.
If you are looking to buy cards, please consider visiting our sponsor at one of his botchains. With so many bots, and such a wide variety of cards, he is bound to have what you're looking for! Search for any of the following under the trade tab: Cardstock, Cardboom, Applegrove, Freerares, Tradervic.
The event will be managed by gatherling.com. Players will need to register for an account there, then register for the event through their "Player CP" and add their deck. All players will be expected to report the results of their matches via their CP on gatherling. You may also drop from the tourney at any time using your CP. If you have any questions or problems with this process, please don't hesitate to ask.
Please meet up in the #s100 chat room and submit your decks by 3:25 EST! We like to start promptly!!
The current prize breakdown is:
First Place: $5 credit with mtgostock's "CardStock" botchain
Second Place: $2 credit with mtgostock's "CardStock" botchain
Third Place: $1 credit with mtgostock's "CardStock" botchain

During single elimination weeks the door prize will go to a random player who lost in round 2. The host is ineligable for the door prize.
Matches will take place in the Getting Serious room and must be constructed as follows:
Format: Vintage
Watchers Allowed: Yes
2 Wins per Match
25min Clock
Labeled as "100CS Tournament"
In the event that a player times out, that player will forfeit the round. Players are expected to conduct themselves with courtesy and respect for other players. Repeated abusive language and/or behavior towards another player may be cause for disqualification. Kindly control yourselves.
MAKE SURE YOUR DECK IS LEGAL FOR THE FORMAT!!
In MTGO's collection screen, go to the Display drop-down of the deck editor and select List View. Sort by Qty. make sure the only non-one value are basic lands. Playing two copies of an identical non-basic card is illegal. Playing two different versions of the same card (e.g. M10 Lightning Bolt plus a M11 Lightning Bolt) is likewise illegal and you will be removed from the tournament.
There are cards that search opponents library such as Acquire, Bribery, (Hide/)Seek and Praetor's Grasp! A quick snapshot of the screen (first enlarge the space for the library cards), and you have the proof.
We won't be able to tell if our opponent's deck is really a legal S100/Highlander.
How do we overcome this issue?
Mostly, by trusting each other. But also by enforcing harsh, brutal rules against cheaters. And I'm talking about IMMEDIATE, PERMANENT BAN FROM ALL GATHERLING PLAY to whoever is caught taking advantage of the missing filter. This will be clearly said before every event, of course. But there will be no mercy.

On occasion, we have 100-Card Modified Heirloom. The Heirloom Legal Card List as of August 2015 can be found here: Heirloom Legality List. The list of legal cards is static, and is updated approximately three weeks after each set release. Alternatively, you can check an entire deck for legality here: Heirloom Legality Checker.
The following cards are banned in 4/60 Heirloom but permitted in Modified Heirloom:
Chalice of the Void is restricted.
Dig Through Time is restricted.
Thirst for Knowledge is unrestricted.
DTT MAY be getting banned in 100cs and TFK MAY be getting un-banned in 100.
Or WotC could do nothing and let the ban list stagnate.
Season 1 has now ended. We have now reached the 1 year anniversary of this tournament!
I have made many good friends during Season 1, it was nice meeting you all.
ML Berlin & Leila Pari, I want to say a big thanks to you both for hosting this tournament during Season 1. You did a fantastic job!
Sensei, I enjoyed fighting against your midrange decks during the last year. In our head-to-head matches in Season 1, what was the final tally? If you beat me overall in the head-to-head battles, then I plan to take revenge in Season 2. I am plotting...
Hexalite, thanks for agreeing to host the next few events whilst ML_Berlin is searching for new accommodation.
Roaroftheoden, pk, Sea & Rhythm, Stiltskin, Total Hate and all the other control (or controllish) players who seem to be on the rise recently, I have decided to add Ricochet Trap and Guttural Response to my sideboard. No Mana Drain, Counterspell or Fact or Fiction for you next time!
And a huge thanks to the fine folks at CardStock bot chain for their generosity and support throughout the year.
Thank you for hosting, ML&BaneBoi. Thank you to Cardstock/MTGOstock for being a generous sponsor.
Hexalite, thank you for stepping up to the plate. You will be the be very first host of CMS Season #2!
Reminder everyone: Battle for Zendikar is not legal until it is officially entered into Gatherling.
Michelle, in your Player CP in the center right there is a Statistics section. Who is your "Biggest Rival?" You are mine and you are ahead 13-12.
Appologies for going AWOL everyone. Unfortunately things have gone from bad to worse in regard to my free time. For the forseeable future (likely at least through the holidays), I'm not going to be able to work from home on Fridays. That means I often won't get home until 2+ hours after our event starts. My Sat and Sun are usually tied up with family obligations or I'd suggest we just move it to the weekend. Regretfully, I'll no longer be able to host CMS.
Would anyone object to moving this event up an hour to 4PM ET / 9PM GMT?
(Once Bane returns, we would move it back to 5PM/10PM.)
It's 6h difference to CET.It's 11 pm in Europe(unless you live in UK or Portugal) or even later like in the Ukraine.
However, pls tell us if you need to start at 5pm!
GOOD NEWS
Sponsor answered my mail and will pay out all prizes. I will send him the results from the last 4 weeks on Sunday.
Ok, I asked in todays event, too. Nobody, there and here, raised his voice and said:' No sorry, pls don't start 1 h earlier'!
So from now on we start 4pm est! Gatherling server time may change next week, depending which time it uses! For all players: End of Summertime in Europe is 1 week earlier than US! Check the time of event in gatherling after Sunday, when clocks have been turned 1 hour back! Then, 1 week later, US will do that, too, and we will be synchron again. Check gatherling again for starting time! So many times , players missed the start of events, because of the different timechanges, week after week.
Well it was nice while it lasted.
Please tweet/email WotC to see if we can change their minds. I'm guessing not but it's worth a shot.
If sadly WotC doesn't reverse course, the obvious replacement is one-on-one commander. The question is whether we should play with the commander or ignore it and play 99-card Singleton. Thoughts?

Perhaps most importantly, Here is where Aaron Forsythe gave his word that we would, and I quote, 'Never be without a format to call your own.' Wizards of the Coast has suffered greatly for the sake of keeping its word: The only reason the Reserved List still exists is because a similar pledge is still being upheld. Never let them forget what they have committed to.
If you really want to rattle them, write to the major holders of Hasbro stock (list below) and convince them that they are losing money by this kind of thing:
I'm surprised when there was so much (apparent) rage about the v3-v4 change, nobody thought about something like this.
I would caution to use any promise by them to held them accountable, because:
- Leagues
- What he said does not mean you will have a specific format for them, only that they would be able to be played. And they will still be even with the removal of these formats.
I for one don't find commander to be an acceptable replacement. The ban list is a complete joke (Primeval Titan banned, Sol Ring legal?! and that's just one of many examples). It is not a format that makes sense for 1v1 play at all (IMO). There have been attempts to remedy that with the French banlist but I think the current MTGO singleton 100 variant is the best one.
I would play the same s100 format, it would just have to be done in freeform or vintage.
I was seriously going to build a commander deck until I realized what cards were legal: Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Mind Twist, Serra's Ascendant, Sol Ring, and Strip Mine.
WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT
I guess I can put in the comments section "LEGACY-legal decks only, I'm using countermagic." I don't think I would get too many opponents.
I would play the same s100 format, it would just have to be done in freeform or vintage.
Message me and I'll play you. As long as we're using the Vintage filter, we might as well use the Highlander Banned List. There's no reason Ponder or Thirst for Knowledge should be banned. Pod is completely absurd too. Or WotC can just not be dumb and not remove the format.

Of course when they remove the format, the only enforcement of deck construction rules is based on a gentlemen's agreement, though we definitely should use some kind of standardized ban list, and that Highlander one looks fine to me (I have no interest in Canadian highlander- points systems for deck construction are inelegant and kind of arbitrary). I agree about Brainstorm and Ponder, they really did not need to be banned- I think the logic behind banning them was that they're just auto-includes if you're playing blue, but they're not so powerful/warping IMO that they need to be banned. I'm ok with banning Pod, I really do think that it's powerful enough. I know you made a case for banning Ranger of Eos, I could go either way on that, but apparently it's legal in Highlander.
I don't think Entomb needs to be banned (because I like my reanimator deck) but I see they're considering unbanning it.
Looks like the formats are dead. This week's announcement repeated that the formats are going away. It would have even been preferable for them to say nothing, which would indicate they're rethinking format removal.
Please change the starting time in starting post,Sensei!
It wouldn't be the first time, or 2nd :-), if they change their mind. With enough pressure, we may prevail. Problem is, that most drafting players don't understand, that without casual players they won't be able to sell their drafted and not needed cards to reasonable prices or later at all.

Sounds good overall, but while we're altering ban lists, I don't think Grindstone needs to be banned (nor Entomb, but I'm not objective on that), especially if we're going to have DT banned. The Painter-Stone combo is only a little easier to pull off than Helm of Obedience-Rest in Peace for example and that one beats Eldrazi, too. Also, to be clear, MTGO Highlander is a 100 card format as well?

Dear WotC Staff,
I am writing to petition you NOT to remove the casual formats listed in this week's announcement!
These formats may make up a minority of games fired, but for some of us, they are the whole reason for playing.
Removing these play options will not make the game better and will actually ruin it for some of us.
Sincerely,
