Hey guys I finally get it built and I've got nobody to play with. Played two guys the other day and they quit because I had one and two drops in my deck? idk go figure. But seriously where are you guys playing it? I cant find anyone in the competitive room and rarely in the casual.
I'd love to play some Commander, but unfortunately I don't have a deck for it. what's the best starting point? I see in the MTGO store there are some Commander pre-cons, any of them any good?
The Commander Precons are a decent base to expand upon. They come with some staples like Sol Ring and Command Tower but aren't all that good out of the box unless you are playing against another precon. I started with a Kaalia of the Vast precon and expanded upon it adding cards to it and its pretty good after you improve it a bit. I haven't liked any of the 2013 generals enough to make a new deck around one of them yet.
I haven't actually played commander on MTGO since I bought in to play Vintage and Legacy but there is a community of commander players on MTGO since there are 2 people who keep asking me to play commander or at least there was until V4 went live. I hear v4 is bad for multiplayer.
Played a few multiplayer games this morning.
Client is a bit laggy but works on my iMac.
Check the just for fun room. Games starting all the time or just host one and you shouldn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a game.
Pre cons are a good starting point and you will find a huge variance in power level of opposing decks.
