Welcome to MTGSalvation Block Situations! Each week, I'll post a topic pertaining to Block that the users of MTGSalvation can discuss. This isn't a contest and there aren't necessarily any right or wrong answers (Although some answers may be better then others ;)), just a good discussion.
You are playing G/W/u GhaziChordGlare. Your decklist is:
You are playing against a unknown opponent in post dissension block. You are given the following hand. Do you keep it on the play? What about on the draw?
Forest, Birds of Paradise, Birds of Paradise, Simic Sky Swallower, Farseek, Court Hussar, Loxodon Hierarch.
I"d keep either way, since you can go:
Turn 1: Forest, BoP
Turn 2: Farseek
Turn 3: If you've drawn a land this turn or last turn, of if on the draw, turn one, you should be able to play the hierarch now. If not, play the court Hussar, dig for a land, and you should be fine.
EDIT: Plus, not too many people play darkblast, so your BoP is pretty safe.
I would keep the hand as well (it is not the best hand, but it has some draw power and land fetching power). Sure the mana could get sketchy, but they might now know that a turn 1 Seal of Fire on your turn 1 BoP is GG.

I am looking for Date Stamped promos from Khans of Tarkir block so I can finish my set. Check my wants if you have any.

I dunno, this hand is questionable. The second BoP is pretty redundant, as it'll throw off your tempo to play it. Your objective with the opening hand here is probably to get the Hierarch up and running. The Court Hussar is what would compel me to keep it. This format isn't very fast, so you'll probably be okay keeping it on the draw. On the play, the only thing that would be disruptive to your base is really Seal of Fire, as I don't think Darkblast is played enough.
You really need that second land, though, to stabilize properly on the Hierarch. The Hierarch's so good at doing that, though, I'm sure you can get away with this hand.
Sure i keep, i surely can place hussar on 3rd or even loxodon. Probably i can take Sky on 5th. Of course all of this if nothing mess with my hand, but i'll certainly keep this hand.

I'd send it back. In the event that your next card is not a land, you'd be relying too much on cards that would depend on bop/farseek. If your opponent lays a swamp, it might be darkblast/riot spikes. Mountain would lead to seal of fire/riot spikes. Island would lead to spell snare, and if that happens, bye2 farseek and gg. Too much depends on these 2 cards resolving for it to be a keeper.
I'd keep this in any case whether play or draw. But I'll certainly go with this hand if i'm drawing anyway.
The important elements of this hand is not acceleration but board advantage... you see once you draw a selesnya guildmage, 3-4 creatures in play is pretty lethal. Once you get a Supply // Demand you'll be pretty much on the way to get freaky monsters in through Chord of Calling or glare of subdual

25 lands in this deck. Someone calculate some odds for me. There should be a land coming quite soon.
All is not lost if the bird goes down, by the way. You have a second bird. Hierarch makes up for previously lost tempo vs. aggro.
With Pyroclasm and Wrath not in the format and Culling Sun being a way off possibility, I might even be tempted to lay the second bird on turn 2 if I don't draw a land. Even if my opponent takes that as a sign of weakness and burns one of them, I have even greater odds of drawing another land on the next turn, throwing down farseek and playing hierarch the turn after that. Then they feel silly for wasting removal on a bird.
With a 25 land deck containing 7 mana fixers, the problem isn't low mana hands, it's hands with only land and fixers.
