Flametongue replaces Steamcore Weird. Id go -1 Firebolt, -1 Staggershock, +2 Fire//Ice as they are all pretty similar. Recoup, I forgot, only works on Sorceries, so nevermind that one. In theory, Id like to throw a Desert into lists that run Expedition Map. Not sure you want to go down that road.
Tough call on the Fireballs. Both seem like they would be good, but for different reasons. Id go with Volcanic Geyser because I think instant speed trumps almost any other intangible a card could have.
Are kavu and fire//ice really worth it though? Although weird is weaker in a sense, it deals damage to the player and is a stronger chump blocker, whereas you can't simply cast kavu if no creatures exist as it will nuke itself, and it can't deal damage to players either. As for fire//ice, The mana to damage ratio is much greater on firebolt, and I already have more than enough draw spells.

It's going to entirely depend on what you are playing against. If you are a casual player then just use what works the best against your friends' decks. Stuff like Kavu and Fire are nods towards diversifying the removal options, which you might have no use for to begin with. But if your best friend plays elves then Fire is going to be really useful.
Please keep the discussion to Pauper. If you want to discuss the use of non-Pauper cards, please move the conversation to the appropriate subforum, thanks.
Against infect, bounce spells work, as do burn spells with flashback. Lightning Bolt and such are less good due to the numerous pump spells. Repeal and Echoing Truth are pretty good. Sometimes though they just get very explosive starts and win the game; there's no actual way to beat Forest, Forest, Glistener Elf, Vines of Vastwood, Invigorate, Invigorate, Mutagenic Growth.

On average, Magic players are worse at new card evaluation than almost every other skill, except perhaps sideboarding.
Scar, if you're willing to devote the sideboard slots to it. Doesn't do (much of) anything vesus the 3 mana guys, but you shouldn't need it by that point.
My favorite infect sideboard card is Curfew, since it actually does beat Bon's 'unbeatable' draw, though of course you need a turn 1 Island (on the draw).

Why do people run Curfew instead of something like Unsummon? Does Curfew benefit you that much if it does bounce one of your creatures?
Theres the U/B variant of 8-post. HERE is kind of the most official thread you'll find for it over on PDCMagic.Com but, besides theres plenty of odd threads here and there of the U/B version. Just say a thread posted on HERE today about there version of it.
I've also seen occasionally a version of mono-green Post, that plays a ton of ramp (Overgrown Battlement, Wall of Roots) and follows it up with land destruction effects like Mwonvuli Acid-Moss and Reap and Sow. The all-LD deck is obviously good against 8-Post, but I strongly suspect that deck just folds to Delver, though, which makes it very bad - nevermind how embarrassing it must be to have Reap and Sow countered by Gush.
There are also builds of the green 8 post that don't do the land destruction and just spit out infinite fatties. Then there's the white (or white/red) rebels 8 post, which was a fad for a couple weeks and has pretty much disappeared since then.
I think Rebels was a real case of new toy syndrome, though for a while it was kind of a scary deck.
I feel like it still can be a scary deck if played right, but I'm of a mind that DimirPost is the strongest of the 8post decks even if Izzet is the more popular version
Just picked this deck up yesterday, and I'm having a blast. I just copied the burn-centric variant from Bon's excellent primer, swapping the Echoing Truth for a crusher (1 of truth seems meh without teachings).
Is Lightning Bolt really that much better than Electrostatic Bolt? It can go to the dome, which is nice, but I always just end up using all of my burn on their guys anyway, and having more 4 damage removal for pesky golems seems like a good time. Someone mentioned earlier that the only 3-toughness non-artifact guys running around are CystbeareR and sunchaser, and I would think that being able to blast enforcers is at least an even tradeoff vs affinity? I'm guessing the bolt really shines vs non-aggro, when it can shave some turns off of a kill.
I really like the burn-centric variant, but I'm trying to figure out how to squeeze some teachings action in. Maybe trimming some mulldrifters since I have a crusher?
Electrostatic Bolt is probably better now in this meta since it kills Spire Golem. Affinity doesn't seem to be a real deck right now, but Spire Golem is a concern for Izzet Post, since it only dies to e-bolt, flame slash and some more expensive spells.
A solid starting point for Teachings is Tom Martell's list; he runs a 2/3 split of Teachings and Alchemy. The big problem with a burn-heavy Teachings variant is that there's a shortage of instant-speed burn that is actually good, though maybe Fires of Undeath is a card.

Black removal is just more versatile right now. Having access to Duress is also massive in a lot of match-ups.
What is the UR strategy against reanimator? I cringe whenever I see an Unearth, especially on a bloody Chittering Rats. Afaik, we don't really have a way to attack graveyards, so do we just try to restock our hand faster than it can be emptied?
Also, for Dimir lists, have you guys thought about splashing red for Kaervek's Torch? I don't think it would be hard to pull off, especially with the inclusion of Trinket Mage to tutor up a Great Furnace, and the payoff would likely be good game. Just a thought.

You mean against rats? Post stomps them anywhoo, I don't see those specific cards being a problem. You just go about your normal plan of big mana and then run over them with CA later on in the game. They have a super slow clock.

Most of them already do. At least the ones a fortnight ago when I last checked daily results did.

Our strategy against the Rats decks is to laugh, relax, and win the match. It's one of our good match-ups; you just out-draw their discard, they can't kill you quickly so you just topdeck much more powerful things than they do, etcetera. Think Twice is a good one; you can pitch it to discard then re-buy it. There's no real need to disrupt their graveyard, since the only graveyard interaction in that deck is Unearth, and Unearth is just extra copies of their various durdle creatures.
If you want to have graveyard hate in your sideboard for some reason, Nihil Spellbomb is a card. There aren't any honestly good graveyard decks in the metagame right now though; you're just hating Tortured Existence decks that don't show up too often.

Spell Burst is awesome.
I'm honestly not restricted, because it's a casual paper magic deck I use against friends, any other card suggestions you guys can make?

What should I take out for these cards? And would you play fanning the flames or Volcanic Geyser?
