As a new player to S100 (I've only played casual games vs ML_Berlin) I am a little confused by some of the items on the ban list... Mind's Desire is too strong, but Tendrils of Agony is not? Thirst for Knowledge is banned? Strip Mine is banned? These seem odd to me. Anyway, I'm brewing decks and excited to give this a try next Saturday. Also interested in a Facebook Group if any one has taken the initiative to make one.
No one, not even WotC, thinks this banlist is ideal. WotC instead of handing off banlist regulation to let the community decide, what the hell, let's just erase the format. Personally I think the 2014 WotC list, the Canadian banlist, and the Highlander banlist are all better. Why do we use this flawed banlist? Mostly inertia. People might explore wizards.com and stumble upon the still available ban list and decide to make a deck.
