Hopefully this is the correct spot for this. I'd like to start playing some Modern online and seeing as how the MTGO meta is vastly different from my local paper meta I'm coming here for a recommendation. I had considered Soul Sisters but know the deck folds to infect pretty hard. Any other recommendations in the $100-150 range?
Edit: I also considered this Death and Taxes budget build I saw recently on gatheringmagic.com (one if roguedeckbuilder's decks).
You already mentioned it: Infect. Gb i guess, maybe splash blue also, for disruption. pretty cheap, good matchup versus Tron, soul sisters, and storm.
You can always play some other (free) online mtgo simulator to brew and test your own deck, if you like brewing.
Also, you can make a pretty cheap Delver deck with Delver (common), Young Pyromancer (uncommon), and although any of the great 2-drops would be best (snappy, bob and golf), there are other possible creatures here. just fill it with burn spells (again, commons), a lot of cantrips (and make sure you play the U and R phyrexian mana 1-cost spells). add mana leak and you have a deck.
I'm saying delver because it's easily upgradable, like slowly adding spell snares or something. also, you can go a lot of directions- splashin white, black or green is all good.
That Delver deck actually sounds very interesting. Unfortunately I couldn't build a deck to save my life so ill poke around online for a decklist. I especially like what you said about being able to upgrade it as I go along.

I like this idea. You get to start out at a cheaper, decent deck and get to work your way into a top-tier deck.

Unfortunately I haven't found an "entry level" decklist. I've also been told that in Modern without Ponder and Braibstorm that Delver just isn't good. Still might give it a try.
splinter twin and both pod decks beat soul sisters because they have infinite damage, soul sisters isn't a good deck, burn, monoUtron, or depending on budget affinity or RGtron are good choices.

Thanks to Rivenor for the art.

The other budget deck that is hilarious and just good enough to be competitive is the Nivmagus Elemental combo deck that went around during PT: RTR.
