WHAT IS GATHERLING’S DUEL COMMANDER CHALLENGE
Duel Commander Challenge is a FREE one-on-one Commander event hosted on the Gatherling.com website. It is open to all, playing Commander with the built-in Commander filter. Newcomers are always welcome. Matches will be best 2 out of 3, with a 25 minute timer. To register, go here and create an account (use your MTGO username as your log-in name) and go to your Player Control Panel and click the register link next to the Duel Commander Challenge event.
WHEN
This event starts on Sunday, May 15th, at 7:00pm Eastern Time and will last a number of rounds dependent on attendance. With a minimum of eight registered players there will be a top four. I will announce pairings on Gatherling and it will be found clicking on Player CP and then scroll to the bottom of the page. All players will be expected to report the results of their matches via their CP on gatherling. You may also drop from the tourney at any time using your CP. If you have any questions or problems with this process, please don't hesitate to ask. #DCC is our chat channel during events. All players will be required to upload their decklists there. Players without a legal deck list entered in Gatherling at start of event, will be dropped by the system automatically.

8-13: 3 rounds of swiss with a top 4 cut
14-19: 3 rounds of swiss with a top 8 cut

Awesome! I just googled "player run events mtgo commander" and found this. Glad to see their is a PRE event for this. It also has good timing (for me at least) so I plan to attend these when I can. Also PLEASE use card tags for banned cards.

Normally moderators will warn you about them. You got Zur the Enchanter. Highlight and click the single card icon or add (card)insert card name here(/card) (brackets instead of parentheses) and you get Zur the Enchanter which you can hover over with mouse to view cards.

DECK CONSTRUCTION
Please also note that while things may look similar to the Duel-Commander format, this is not the real Duel-Commander because there it is not supported by MTGO.
In addition to the standard Commander banlist produced and maintained by the Rules Committee (http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php), this event the following cards also are banned: Ancient Tomb; Back to Basics; Entomb; Food Chain; Gaea’s Cradle; Grim Monolith; Grindstone; Hermit Druid; Humility; Imperial Seal; Loyal Retainers; Mana Crypt; Mana Drain; Mana Vault; Mind Twist; Mishra’s Workshop; Mystical Tutor; Natural Order; Necropotence; Oath of Druids; Serra Ascendant; Sensei’s Divning Top; Sol Ring; Strip Mine; The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale; and Vampiric Tutor. In other words, it is the sum of standard Commander banlist plus the French Banlist. If a player is found with any banned cards in their deck, they will be issued a match loss versus their current opponent and will be allowed to switch out the offending card(s) with a basic land of their choice.
The following cards are banned as commander, however are still legal for use as part of the ninety-nine: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician; Edric, Spymaster of Trest; Oloro, Ageless Ascetic; Tasigur, the Golden Fang; Yisan, the Wanderer Bard; and Zur the Enchanter. A player found using these commanders will be issued an 0-2 match-loss and will be given an opportunity to switch out the commander for another legal choice. The rest of their main deck must remain unchanged.
