Following various advices, I decided to finally get myself a MTGO account for casual play when Im too lazy to go to the LGS. However, I have found serveral issues (which might just be my dumbness) within MTGO that i cannot comprehend.
1. Why would people pay $1.03 per event ticket when you can buy them off the store for $1? ?!??!
2. Why is the client so !@#$ laggy? I expected instant responses while tab switching, browsing games (the "list of games" screen takes up to 2 minutes to load up)
3. The shop sells a Momir Vig pack for $9.99. The Momir vig avatar is worth $11.
4. How do I dump commons/uncommons? From my scouting, they appear to be worth less than $0.001 a piece.

Cause its cheaper then paying something like $1.10 thanks to taxes.
Client sucks and most people seem to agree though it loads games replay tab for me alot faster.
Thats cause of the secondary market. You'll see this happen alot with theme decks and dual decks, etc. Also taxes again can make it more expensive.
I'll take them anytime. Just PM me here or on MTGO. MTGO name is same as here Neros64
I dont understand what people are saying about taxes. Does that mean when you click say 1 ticket, the final cart total is $1.10? Im assuming only people in America get taxed since i only have to pay $1 (im in Australia).
Theoretically, i could just buy 100 tickets and sell them off on ebay for $103 and make a profit of 3 bucks?

Yeah you have to pay taxes depending on the state we live in. I think theres two states that we don't have to pay taxes in while the rest pay something like 8% or more in taxes for things.

two states seems like a conservative number. Im sure its more than that. Here in Tennessee we pay no tax on online purchases but sales tax is nearly ten percent on irl items.
Since people have mentioned taxes by state, Alabama does not pay taxes on mtgo.

Odds of pulling a JtMS from a WWK pack: 1:80
Odds of pulling any specific rare in 5th Edition: 1:133
So, on average, 1 JtMS every 2.222 boxes or 1 Bird of Paradise every 3.694 boxes. Yeah, I'll take my odds with Mythics, they are easier to get than old rares.

In the USA, the only states where MTGO will charge sales tax are those where Wizards of the Coast has a nexus. This includes Washington state, of course. In the vast majority of states, no sales tax will be charged.
In other states, you (the purchaser) may be required to pay a "use tax" on goods purchased online. This varies by state, but will occur as part of your normal process of filing taxes. Whether digital items count as taxable goods will probably also vary by state.
