I'm practicing my draft on mtgmirror for an upcoming draft this coming Sunday.
In the attachment screenshot, I'm honestly not sure what to P1P1. Mind's Dilation seems too expensive and somewhat meh. Somberwald Stag is good, but I feel like Green is not that strong in this set. Then you have your obvious common removals of Choking Restraints and Boon of Emrakul.
Do you even consider Midnight Scavengers as a first pick? (In hopes of Graf Rats?)
Just taking in some general advice to help my drafting skills.
Scavengers is a consideration in an irl draft, as the signal you send by taking it is worth the 0.5 power level difference between it and the best cards in this pack (scavengers is a 3.0, stag/restraints is a 3.5). I dont think its worth taking over premium removal if you are drafting online though.
Between the stag and the aura I think either are defensible picks. Stag has higher upside if you can get a 2 for 1 and is worst case an alchemists greeting, whereas the restraints is just more consistent overall. The restraints probably gets the nod from me as it also has some nice synergy with ironclad slayer and delerium, and will just always deal with their biggest threat.
