My first post of this had it in the wrong sub forum. With that in mind im Going to repost here. I hope thats okay.
Hello. I have not been playing magic long and saw a video suggesting leagues as a great place to play and build a collection while learning the game.
I ended up joining a local store league. Below is my sealed card pool. This will be week 3 of the league and I have added 6 boosters i think since it started. It included a Silumgar sealed release pack. The reason I post this is because I'm doing horrible. I was playing U/B and my win loss ratio is very bad.
I would be grateful if some more experienced players took a look at the pool and see where the best colors are. I have been getting conflicting advice from the guys I play in the league. I almost feel like it may be a bit of sabotage example being to run 21 lands instead of 17 in a 40 card deck. But I am new and don't dwell to hard on conspiracies. Thank you for taking a look at the pool any help would be awesome. Thank you again.
The way I played it last nite I stalled the ground with death touch and mega morphed Bowman building devotion for Karametra, God of Harvests. Then I had dragons swoop in and swing. Also Archetype of Endurance Seemed to be a big bomb protecting my dragons and my mana flowed free enough to get him out. Thank you Karametra, God of Harvests for all the mana you coughed up during my 2 matches.
I kept the Dragonlord Silumgar because he is just that good. I was able to cast him every time he came up with the help of Karametra's Favor and Sheltered Aerie. As for a mana base it worked last night but once again advice and card exchanging to do something even better would be great.
I apologize for not having a complete booster packs list to add to the original post. My time was cut short at the shop last night. I will try and see about getting it updated.
Any advice is always appreciated. And a Big thank you to the guys that posted in the other sub forum about this pool. I did play the UB version you offered and enjoyed the card draw that was there.
Your list looks like it has no manabase attached to it? What are the deck construction rules you are working under?
Wow is that a bad deck. Looking solely at your monocoloured cards I'd be thinking of UW or BW. Looking at the gold cards I agree that UB is where you have to bee.
That's a LOT of decent cards. If you're going to run 18 lands (and you should, your powerful bombs are all 5-6 mana) then you need to go from 39 cards to 22.
Here's a first cut at the strongest cards in our pool that will almost certainly make the cut:
Qarsi Deceiver is the most questionable card in my list: it's there to be a wall, nothing more. It's entirely possible that they would be better as [/card]Elusive Spellfist[/card] or some megamorphs.

Thank you for the advice. I haven't had any time to go and play with your suggestions this week. Today though I will be heading to the shop to work on the deck and buy two new boosters. I was wondering if sticking with ub are there any specific sets I should get the packs from?

That is the pool. I have been trying U/B but maybe there is something else I have not considered thanks again for taking a look.
Also let me know if there is a more preferred way of posting suck a large pool of cards.
1 Dromoka, the Eternal
1 Abzan Guide
1 Dragonlord Silumgar
1 Karametra's Favor
1 Whisperer of the wilds
1 Deathmist Raptor
1 Sheltered Aerie
2 Aerie Bowmasters
1 Return to the Earth
1 Lurking Arynx
1 Archetype of Endurance

1 Flatten
1 Vulturous Aven
1 Ukud Cobra
1 Sidisi, Undead Vizier

Out of the two packs I felt the white was good with another Pacifism and Echoes of the Kin Tree and in green another mana color fixers in Karametra's Favor and Sheltered Aerie. Also pulled a Deathmist Raptor.
