I played this deck last night to a 3-1 finish at a 9-man in our game store. I play only paper, so i can't really make a draftcap, but i'll try to write what I remember.
My first pick of the draft was Stormcrag Elemental over Ojutai's Command. I don't really like the command in limited, and I hadn't played yet with the elemantal. My next pick was Epic Confrontation, But I don't remember over what. Toward the end of pack 1, I had started to move over to black rather that green (a 7th pick Flatten is a pretty strong signal) and picked up a Kolaghan Monument and a Blood-Chin Rager.
In the second pack, I took Atarka Pummeler over Corpseweft. My reasoning being that I was already locked into red, that the pummeler is a really strong card anyway, and even if I'm going BR, Corpseweft woudn't really fit into my game plan as a mana-intensive noncreature. During that pack, black relly dried off (somone else has read the signals) but I picked up another Epic confrontation, an Ainok Survivalist, a Segmented Krotiq and an Aerie Bowmasters, so I couldn't complain.
In fate reforged, the rare was Daghatar the Adamant. I picked it, mainly because i wanted to splash it. Black was still somewhat open, But green was good enough that I didn't really look back (even after the
13th pack had Gurmag Angler and Grim Contest.)
In the first match, I played against a straight Mardu deck. Game one he got me down to 6 life with an unmorphed Stormwing Dragon, and when I attacked him with four creatures, he chump blocked and Collateral Damage'd my face. Game 2 I had My own stormwing dragon, and he just never found an answer. In the third game, I landen an Atarka Pummeler with formidable up, and he couldn't survive for long. 1-0
Round 2, the opponent was playing RW. Game one he just flooded out. Game 2 he got a nice start, but my creatures were just bigger. The pummeler was again the star, and after reducing his life to 9 he remained with a Zurgo Bellstriker that couldn't block any of my guys and two other blockers, but as they could only block one creature, that wasn't enough. 2-0
Round 3, I played against UB. Game one, he pecked at my my life total to death with two Elusive Spellfists before I could do anything. Game 2, I used Abzan Beastmaster To get massive card advantage, and I just buried him in big, fat creatures. In game 3 he had tons of very good removal, and I couldn't really create a board before he finished me off with a dashed Pitiless Horde. 2-1
Round 4, I played against UW, and boy, did he have a lot of tricks. Game one, I trampled over his tricks with the Stormcrag Elemental for the win. Game 2, The life totals were 12-5 in my favor, until he Taigam's Strike'd his Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest, double-sriked and attacked for the win. Game 3 was a race, and in the most crcial turn of the game, I attacked with my unmorphed Ainok Survivalist, Segmented Krotiq and Atarka Beastbreaker. He misplayed and blocked only the krotiq, and I pumped the beastbreaker and killed him (he was on 9 Exactly.)
Atarka Pummeler was, not surprisingly, AMAZING. I didn't lose any game in which he hit the battlefield, wheter because of the great ability or just because I now had a 5 toughness creature to activare my beastmaster. I got the stormcrag elemental only in one or two games, but he definitely didn't dissapoint. Overall, I liked this deck very much.
