It seems that having more than 3 toughness is very rare in M15 limited, while having 1 toughness is common. Removal also has a shift at 3, with Lightning Strike, Ulcerate, Cone of Flame; contrasted with Pillar of Light which basically just exiles bombs.
On a similar note 1 toughness seems quite terrible. Soldier and spirit tokens in white, squid tokens and playable 1/3s in blue, Fester Gloom, Black Cat, Forge Devil and Satyr Wayfinder means all colours can fairly easily get 2-for-1 against X/1s at common. About 1/3 of common creatures have 1 toughness.
The point of all this is: is 3 power crucial? Is getting the 4th point of toughness good? Should I be picking cards like Goblin Roughrider highly, since it trades with nearly everything. Is it a viable strategy to first pick the Paragon cycle and force colours, since 1 more toughness gets me out of removal/trading range and 1 more power gets me to trading range for the otherwise weak (and probably easy to drafts in multiples) 2/1s?
Common creatures with more than 3 toughness are: Carnivorous Moss-Beast, Charging Rhino, Glacial Crasher, Rotfeaster Maggot, Siege Wurm, Wall of Fire ,Will-Forged Golem and situationally Undergrowth Scavenger. That's about 1/8 common creatures, and only Wall of Fire costs less than 5. In comparison, almost 1/3 of common creatures have power 3 or more.
