Sup guise. I'm going to be away for a few days due to a project at work. So now you have a lot of time to decide whether you really want to take that Simic Guildgate here.

oh god oh god now I'm having second thoughts Shadow Slice
So anyway, here's my predictions as to what will wheel:
P9: Adaptive Snapjaw, Armored Transport, Totally Lost
P10: If we're very lucky, Aetherize. More likely, Hydroform and Skygames.
P11: Either Totally Lost or Adaptive Snapjaw
P12: Spell Rupture, Last Thoughts, or Naturalize
P13: nada (Contaminated Ground and FOIL PLAINS if we go Selesnya)
P14: nada (Contaminated Ground)
So that looks like we should get a couple mediocre 5-drops and a sideboard card.
We could also briefly discuss at this point what we envision our deck to be. RtR is coming up soon and I'm thinking our final product will be a Bant-build, with green being the focal point.
Originally I figured our splash color would be white, but lately I've been thinking that blue should be our splash color instead. I would also keep an eye on color-fixers so we have a better chance of playing any good Selesnya and Azorius cards we happen to see.
Whether or not it worked does not validate the play. That's hindsight probability. Let's say I offered you a bet -- I'm going to flip a coin and if it's heads, I'll give you 1 dollar but if it's tails, you'll give me 2 dollars. This is obviously a terrible bet for you. Accepting it is a bad decision. You can't justify it afterwards by arguing that you won the flip, therefore you made the right decision.
Blue
1
2 Shambleshark
3 Beetleform Mage(x2)
4 Plasm Capture
5 Species Gorger, Urban Evolution

Hallowed Fountain
Simic Guildgate
Other
G Mending Touch
1W Lyev Decree
1U Hidden Strings (I still think this should have been Wake the Reflections)
1WU Restore the Peace
5W Maze Sentinel
Summary
So currently we're a mid-range deck, that is light for removal and tricks and simply hopes that our creatures are bigger/better than theirs.
Other Thoughts
We have no nice targets for Species Gorger other than Trostani's Summoner. We currently only have 1 gate for our Gatekeepers, nothing else is going to be particularly nice to bounce (I guess there's a few bounce targets if our evolving fish crab is out). At least he's nice if we have Maze Sentinel out. It'd certainly be nice to land a few of the RTR ETB guys like Azorius Arrester, Centaur Healer, Voidwelder, Lyev Skyknight etc to make him more useful.
Populate seems pretty sketchy from here. I think we're better off aiming for some detain and other falter effects to try and push through board stalls. Big dumb green dudes and some ramp would be nice too.
lol I forgot to actually vote (like it'll make a difference!). Nevertheless, Simic Guildgate.
Naphtali, I like that assessment. Maze Sentinel's not green, although I dunno how significant that will be anyway. I definitely think we're green and wanting to splash blue for those Beetleform Mages, with the other blue / part-blue cards being dependent on what else we'll have in our final pool.
I still think Selesnya will be an attractive option as we go through RtR packs, so I believe we could still be green/white splashing blue. I'd like to know what everyone else's thoughts are on that. We'd have two lands that splash blue (after the Simic GG) so it makes the most sense to me.
I'm hoping to see more low-cost cards / good green cards. I would love to see Gatecreeper Vine and either Azorius or Selesnya Guildgate at some point, plus some sweet Selesnya-colored cards.

It's not abandoned, it's just that my work situation right now (I'm heading an analysis with deadline tomorrow) means that IRL takes up about 95% of my time while I'm not asleep. The next pick will be up on Monday morning my time at the latest.

When you put it like that, Simic Guildgate is the obvious choice. I wasn't sure if Zarichi Tiger was worth it instead since it's a body. Since our deck is UGw and not GWu like I initially thought, Simic Guildgates are really needed.

ya Zarichi Tiger. If Gruul Charm or Cinder Elemental were better I would conside taking one speculatively, but they are avg and Mr Zarichi is actually not bad if we end up with enough W to support it.

Which backs up what we've been saying. We're definitely in Green. We could go either way to determine our 2nd main colour and our splash.
We actually do have a Behemoth; was one of the autopicks.
I know that feel.
