I've been in a couple of M13 drafts and it just seems like UB fliers with talrands invocation and bloodhunter bat just win. Is there any way to draft that kind of fights against this? I'm just stumped.
Big green spiders sort of wrecks it, from experience. Regenerating Death Touch, or that darn Silklash Spider which I ALWAYS see in every draft and never pick myself.
I said it somewhere early into M13: B/U exalted fliers is a thing. Tough.
Well first, it's worth bearing in mind that Talrand's Invocation is probably the best Uncommon in the set, so if your opponent is beating you with one of those you can't expect any archetype to rescue you without similar card quality from your side.
Second, U/B "fliers" isn't really a thing. Bloodhunter Bat is a strong card, but it's Black's only flying Common in the set (and Vampire Nighthawk is the only Uncommon).
The implication is that you're some kind of ground-based deck and are losing because your opponent is flying damage over your blockers. U/B is not a fast deck, though, so this shouldn't happen much.
Three possibilities:
1) You're drafting mediocre ground-based aggro decks that aren't good enough to win. Ground-based aggro is hard to get right and I don't recommend it, really.
2) You're not really losing to the flyers so much as to the fact that your opponent's control deck is successfully achieving control and their kill condition just happens to be flyers.
3) A "couple of drafts" is a ridiculously small sample. Maybe you were just unlucky?

My favourite archetype currently is actually UG durdles. Farseek and Divination are key cards that go fairly fairly late and that can really make the deck hum along to get up to Sentinel Spider and Faerie Invaders consistently. Talrand's Invocation is my favourite T3 play in the format.
Second, U/B "fliers" isn't really a thing. Bloodhunter Bat is a strong card, but it's Black's only flying Common in the set (and Vampire Nighthawk is the only Uncommon).
Crippling Blight is Black's main contribution. Between Blight and Unsummon, it can keep spiders out of the way long enough for a fleet of Welkin Terns to go the distance.
For all those suggesting rare cards, those most likely would never show up on your sealed/draft.
Your options are:
Removal spells like pacifism, murder, o-ring, divine verdict, plummet, etc...
If you're green, the deadly recluse or the 4/4 spider with vigilance
If you are in a color with flyers, play flyers too. Play as many flyers as you can. Faerie invaders adds a bit of a surprise and it's pretty strong of a flyer at 3/3, only drawback is that it's expensive.
RG seems really well positioned against UB Mono-Fliers. You have Serra Spider, the green Doom Blade, Plummet, Bladetusk Boar (to race), Searing Spear, Centaur Courser, ect.

I write about cube and run cube drafts on magic online.
It's the best archetype, so you should expect to lose to it more often than not. The only decks I've been losing to consistently with U/B involve Trumpet Blast, but even that isn't great when you have access to Cower in Fear and Public Execution. As somebody mentioned, though, a more controlling U/B deck works wonders against the aggro version, especially if you pick up Fog Bank, Cower, and a Faerie Invaders or two.
