I was playing a green-blue soulbound deck (which is SO much fun, even if i didn't win anything) and it seemed to be almost good, and just missing something... i didn't have very many fast 2 or three drops, just a few.
Sure, i did some dirty tricks with Nephalia Smuggler and Mist Raven, but there really wasn't much that could block howlgeist, and without it i wouldve just bounced creatures until i ran out of cards.
I dont have my decklist or details of all my games yet, but im curious to know what cards were most important to other decks.
My deck was horrible, but Blood Artist was my best card. It just looks inconspicuous, a little 0/1 off in the corner. And then you start saccing things.
Signalling is like farting: it's a natural thing that helps people avoid being where you are, and if you try to do it deliberately, things turn to crap fast.

I hereby found the American Chapter of the Zealots of Semantics. All glory to The Curmudgeon.
Wolfir Silverheart won games (as expected). Best part was landing the bond on a Champion of Lambholt.
Riders of Gavony won me a game, too - lots of humans this set.
Rush of Blood is fun with some evasion when you need to get in for some final damage. Won me a couple games on Heirs of Stromkirk against non-red.
Saw Homicidal Seclusion just WRECK FACE with a Demonic Taskmaster. I'm so scared of that combination, really glad I didn't play against it.
I did draft a Howlgeist but it never came out. Usually by the time I had enough mana I was already on top, with some very aggressive 2/3 drops. Don't let anyone tell you this format is slow, because GW has a ton of aggressive 2 drops.
I can't remember the name of the card, but the +3/+0 equipment was the nuts for me.. I played in two drafts and picked 2 of them each draft. Complete house

You drafted both Champ and Silverheart? That's some of the luckiest drafting I've ever heard (whether or not you ever get them in play at the same time, it's insane)

It was a 5-man draft and only one other guy played green, but Champ was P1P2 and Silverheart was P3P2. I passed Griselbrand P2P1 to the guy playing UB (opening Temporal Mastery P1P1) so we were happy about it. I ended up going 4-0 so I guess I had a pretty good deck, haha.
In last night's draft this 3-0 for me and I would say the two best cards of the evening for me were the Goldnight Commander and the sideboard Cloudshift (play Malcontents, flicker Malcontents, swing with 6/3 trampling Kruin Strikers).
Yeah, the first place at my draft was red white and he just demolished. Goldnight commander and Kruin Striker were all stars in red white of course. Cloudshift could do some annoying things too. Games were over for me in like 5 turns against him. Simply because of this archetype, opening an Angelic wall in pack 2 (for me) is a viable reason to switch into white.
Kessig Malcontents. I managed to pull two into my RW humans deck. It's pretty great to drop a 3/1 on turn 3 that also burns your opponent for a few damage. Cloudshift'ing him is awesome. He also wears Angelic Armaments very well.
Just a really great RW humans card in general, if you pull two in draft/sealed you can probably revolve an entire deck around them.
Druid's Familiar is ridiculous, especially in this removal-lite world
yeah, I have first-picked it already, and will probably do so more in the future. It goes so well with so many things -- it's about equally good in aggro and control.

So have I, I'm totally not surprised. It's one of the best uncommons IMO (the best green non-rare non-Wolfir Avenger?)
Definitely Craterhoof Behemoth. I swung for 122 damage against a guy with 90 life. I won by one life. Easily the best limited game I've ever been a part of. After that it was probably Geist Trappers, though.
Probably Evernight Shade. My deck was terrible, but it game me a win or two I just wouldn't have had otherwise.
Yeah, the guy is so good. If you're black heavy, he gets big really fast, and undying is awesome with all of the sac effects you need -- or just getting to trade twice. I like that card a lot, and since it's heavy black, you tend to get them reasonably late.
Silverblade Paladin.
He's a major bomb.
Combine him with Nearheath Pilgrim and it's GG if your opponent doesn't have removal.
I once played a Zealous Strike on a vanilla 2/2 and blocked a 8/8 Wolfir Silverheart to death in first strike with the paladin, the pilgrim and the 2/2.
Result: one dead Wolfir silverheart and 4 lifes for me
I'd have to say Falkenrath Exterminator. If he goes unchecked, he just takes over the board. I was living the dream last week when I soulbonded him to Nightshade Peddler. Definitely first pick material.
And as one poster mentioned earlier, this format can be fast if you draft it correctly.

I lived that dream last night my LGS. It was short-lived, as my Peddler ate a Human Frailty, but I was able to ping a Demonic Taskmaster before that happened.
Wandering Wolf has been a house for me, especially with all the pump in this set (won a match pretty much just riding him and Trusted Forcemage to victory). Also, Stonewright and Heirs of Stromkirk have won me games.
Angel's Tomb and Archwing Dragon (4/4 flying haste for 4 is pretty awesome, a lot of removal is sorcery speed) have been pretty good for me as well, though I haven't gotten to do any Soulbound shenanigans with them yet.

Just about everyone I played said they completely underrated the threat that Exterminator poses. I'd expect more people there to pick him up in earlier picks after I rode that deck to an undefeated victory (only lost one game all night).
Also, I wanted to mention Angel's Tomb but forgot. I played it for the first time last week just to see what it did. I hadn't seen anyone play it so I had nothing to base it off of. I was really surprised by it. If I had to guess, I'd say it got in for a total of about 21-27pts of damage during the evening. For a three mana investment, that's not bad. If I was going aggro again, I'd probably pick one up in the 5-8 pick range.
Yeah - Angels Tomb is one of those cards that's way better than it looks. The fact that your opponent can't get it with any sorcery speed removal is key.

I would have liked a wandering wolf, or a Druids familiar, but a second howlgeist would have been great.
Every single game i won was due to Howlgeist.

Same here. Black is brutal, but this card is a pretty compelling reason to play it.

Draft My Cube!

At first i didn't like homicidal seclusion but once i realized it wasn't an "enchant creature" i knew it would be good. Especially with cards like Bone Splinters and Barter in Blood.

If you drop Tribal Forcemage on turn 3, this can give you two 5/5s on turn 4. Not much your opponent can do about that.

Draft it on Cubetutor!
