We're not Blue! Why does everyone keep trying to take Blue cards?!
If you feel we absolutely must splash Blue here then at least take the signet so we can do it without losing to our own manabase!
(Orzhov Basilica for my GBR deck, please.)

Merl decided we were RUGb from P1P1 and everyone else just sort of fell into line. Bad move, since this is rapidly looking like a train wreck. If that's going to be the case then I guess Chronarch is the pick, even though all it's recurring right now is that Wildsize. It'd be nice if we could get something that actually does something sooner or later, since I don't see a single card in our deck that points to a strategy or even a loose theme and I have no idea how we actually win games right now.
Splashed chronarch is better than half-on color bounceland anyway.
No, it really isn't. Bouncelands are very, very good.
How often does a land generate card advantage?!

Chronarch is also card advantage, and it actually gives us cards that we don't mind drawing rather than more land. Since our deck is looking pretty tough on the mana at the moment - and I don't actually believe we really ever had a choice here, taking golgari cards in pack 1 locks you into 4 colors unless the stars align for RGB - I'd rather that my bouncelands actually manafix me. We can certainly pick up another one in the next pack and a half anyway, and if I have two bouncelands I will very rarely play a third unless it's on color.

If you take Golgari cards in pack one, stars really don't need to align to go RGB. It's just making sensible picks, like taking, I don't know, Douse in Gloom instead of its Izzet equivalent.
Also if you very rarely play a third bounceland, you're doing it wrong.
Anyway this deck is a trainwreck now, because people wanted to be Izzet before they even saw a pack, and refused to not be Izzet even after we clearly weren't in pack one. So I've given up on this draft. Going Golgari -> Izzet is simply bad drafting, there's no way around it.
You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.

I echo this sentiment, and add that I would, and have, take an Orzhov Basilica over Chronarch in straight RUG some of the time.
