You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.
(What the hell did you RL MTG players do to Portal? Did you hate it so much that you had deck burning bonfires to get rid of the cards, thus increasing the rarity and prices? Did people mail back their fat packs to WotC in droves, demanding refunds?)
HMs: Impaler Shrike - Just too many ways to kill a 1 toughness creature before it attacks keeps it from being in my top ten. Razor Swine - If it wasn't red... Island - I'm pretty keen on blue proliferate right now
HM: Impaler Shrike (I decided 4 mana for 1 toughness and no color flexibility hurts it too much)
All of the top tier removal is in this list, as well as the better creatures in the common phyrexian cycle - 5/4 trample for 4 is insane even as a vulnerable artifact creature, and 3/1 first strike for 2 is also insane despite the weakness to 1-point removal. 2/4 + -1/-1 counter is actually really strong, much better than blisterstick shaman for only 1 more mana. This list is based on p1p1 power, so costing phyrexian mana is a plus as well for versatility. Spire Monitor is just great despite having very little synergy with anything, as it's basically blue Second Thoughts. Mycosynth Wellspring snuck in there because a card completely based around synergy (artifact synergy, sac synergy, etb trigger synergy, and enabling splash synergy) is a good option to pick up in the first pack, because you can draft around it.

This is really interesting -- I like the way you approached the list by focusing on what the best P1P1 cards would be. I hadn't thought of it that way - I was just thinking about which cards I would like in a deck in general, but your approach has me thinking about the cards differently, which is cool.
Wow... killing a 7/7 with one card. That's just insane.
It's two specific cards....not to mention the number of "destroy target creature" type spells.
I really don't what has people so thrilled for forced worship. I could only see it being significantly useful in a heavy control deck. It just means their bomb becomes a blocker to eat your cards.

My top 10 in no particular order:
Porcelain Legionnaire - Jeez this guy is just good. Just so good.
Blighted Agent - Works nice with corrupted resolve, unblockable infector is nice too.
Gitaxian Probe - Has potential written all over it.
Geth's Verdict - Really nice removal.
Volt Charge - Oh man, really nice card. Removal + proliferate = me likey!
Glistener Elf - Well of course -_- come on we were all asking for it and they gave it.
Blinding Souleater - God this card is SWEET! Nice. Fatty.
Remember the Fallen - Nice. Morbid Plunder.
Mycosynth Wellspring - Really good. So good. Love wellsprings <3.
Glissa's Scorn - Solid Removal.
Grim Affliction - See Volt Charge.
In order, but not a very stringent order. perhaps blinding souleater is worse than volt charge and glissa's scorn is worse than pith driller or artillerize.
I know this is still too early, but what do you think will be the top 10 commons in New Phyrexia?
Here's mine:
Remember the Fallen - White's version of Morbid Plunder Impaler Shrike - Thieving Magpie on steroids Blind Zealot - Power creeped Severed Legion Geth's Verdict - Edict w/ a ping Mortis Dogs - Possible 3-for-1 is possibly good Artillerize - Wellsprings et al.'s bestfriend, albeit overcosted Volt Charge - Staple burn Parasitic Implant - Removal is removal, although most of the time this will just be a 2-for-2. You place it on their bomb, it attacks, you chump block, your turn you have a shiny new chump blocker. Blighted Agent - Blue's Plague Stinger Reaper of Sheoldred - Should have been named Blightwidower
It would also be nice to have some healthy card discussions, since the Rumor Mill and New Card Discussion pages are now just a hodge-podge of crazy deck ideas and unorganized single card discussions, ever since the Godbook leak.
MODs kindly lock if NPH discussions are not yet allowed.
Agree with all but mortis dogs, I might be missing something but i dont see the 3 for 1. Its an AVERAGE card imo, not bad but not great.
So I've seen a bunch of people's early evaluations of M13 limited, and the apparent consensus is that blue is the set's worst colors. I have only played three events, mind you, but I consider myself a bit of a core set limited guru, and while I think it's a bit early to say that blue is the set's best color, I think it's significant;y more in the conversation than people are giving it credit for.
As I've posted elsewhere, Archaeomancer is my pick for the set's best common.
Wow... killing a 7/7 with one card. That's just insane.
Not even counting the body it's attached to, when Fangren Maurader gets me or my opponent up much past 40 life, that does it for me.
So, 15 life sounds about right. Unless it's repeatable. I'm not above siding in Trigon of Mending or Venser's Journal against non-infect.
