Treespeaker has won me too many games to not pick it here. The biggest redeeming factor of it is that its GREAT in every archetype we could hope to build. Are we ramp? Fatties come out two turns faster. Are we aggro? We're playing 5-drops before they're playing 3-drops. Are we control? Our defense gets established faster than their offense. This card has impressed me so much in this format. All of my levelers love the guy, buy him shots after closing, and throw banquets in its name!
Fall looks good, and were this an actual draft, I might pick it just to see how well it plays in limited, be right now I'm more sold on the guaranteed awesome one-drop.
I think I still like Hatcher more as a card than Treespeaker; the durable body and multiple token creation offers a ton of options. I think, however, that our previous picks are lending better to green as a base color at this point. We had the opportunity to solidify ourselves in red, but since we chose another route, we should keep to that other route. Not that I'm complaining; I try to force green in this format if I can.
You have no idea how badly I want to refute each of your ridiculous points, but I'm not going to because it will only continue to derail this conversation over a JOKE I made about a cute interaction between two rares, during a fictional draft.

Do it in a PM then, or start a new thread. I explained why Momentous Fall isn't a great card in draft (although its playable, in a Shared Discovery sort of way). You're the one who started spurious comparisons between Momentous Fall and Memory Jar.
Good luck refuting any of those points by the way
ETA: Started a thread on fall, since Phyrre's right, this is off-topic. Phyrre, please feel free to demonstrate why 7+7 < 14 or other enlightening pieces of logic that you feel refute my 'ridiculous points.'
If this forum had Greasers, Phoenix, Commons and Semantics would be the leaders of the gang and every time they commented on something they would do a synchronized finger snap then smoke a cigarette.
The lesson I'm drawing from this barrage of extreme examples being thrown back and forth, is that Momentous Fall is good, but situational. I'm therefore going to go with the Treespeaker, which is always good.

I'm in favor of erring on the side of proactivity over reactivity when the power level of the cards is in question. If this were Momentous Fall versus, say, something more mediocre like Vent Sentinel, then I'd go with the Fall every time, as the power of the card mitigates its reactivity. However, given how strong Treespeaker is, I take it over Fall here.
Momentous Fall is hardly unplayable, and the deck we're drafting seems ideal for it in theory, but without the key proactive parts of the deck in place yet (mana accel, threats other than Gigantomancer), I think it's important to make sure we set those in place before taking a card that works best when we've already established a board position.

Signalling is like farting: it's a natural thing that helps people avoid being where you are, and if you try to do it deliberately, things turn to crap fast.

Dawnglare Invoker... and you just need to draw that one removal card.
Also, learn too read. You're spamming this thread with nonsense to the point that people will not take you serious if you continue this way.
Learn 'too' read? I'll take your advice very seriously, it has obviously worked well for you.
At least two people mentioned the 'gigantomancer/fall' combo. I think answering that idea is very valid. But then again, maybe I read 'two' much into those posts.

To summarize, I'd rarely pick Treespeaker over the Fall, but this is one of those times.
Actually, I agree with this. The way it currently looks we probably need the Treespeaker more. But I'm quite sure Momentous Fall is usually the better card.
You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.
I'm actually a bit disappointed to see nothing about the Basilisk.
There are three cards I'd take over it in this pack without blinking. General consensus is that the 3-drop is a fine card but nothing impressive. Considering that it is up against two of the better ramp cards in the format and a possible bomb rare, its absence from the conversation isn't surprising.
I'd take Basilisk high if we are in that "aura gnarlid aggro" archetype, since a 2/2 Deathtouch with a totem armor on it is pretty much unblockable also. But for this pile, it's way down the list (well, maybe not WAY down, but definitely not comparable to some of the other cards in this pack).

I would be ecstatic if the Basilisk wheeled as its a fine card in just about any green deck. It doesn't, however, compare to the power level of Treespeaker. In this pack though, I think it does stand a pretty good chance of wheeling.
It's more that people always overvalue removal. Really, if they make a card ":symb:: Sorcery: As an additional cost, get F'd in the A. Destroy target creature." people will say "removal is removal" and first-pick it.

Basilisk doesn't compare to Fall (power) or Treehuger (utility)
It's just a decent creature and/or intimidating wall.
