I've never done a real draft, but I often find myself doing practice ones on that Bestiaire draft site. They put up Zendikar tonight, and it was a lot of fun to make a deck real quick.
So, anyone else use that site and try it out with Zendikar yet?
Well I've done no playtesting so all my decks could really end up being absolute crap lol. I'm just trying to get a feel for how drafts and sealed pools end up and what creatures and colors curve well etc...
I went W/B and thought it came out alright. Zendikar seems to be lacking in removal, but I got a few good ones and a couple creatures with deathtouch. Didn't really manage to draft any bombs though. Still, I'm looking forward to doing this for real next week.
One thing I noticed from clicking through some drafts was, that you are often struggling for enough solid creatures. Of course the simulators have no printruns and an akward pickorder but still I had a feeling, that you a) have to play creatures that fell subpar compared to previour limited sets or b) will just struggle for enough guys
Yeah, no more struggling to cut playables like ACR, or getting 14th pick solid cards (or if you do, it'll be noteworthy). You'll be struggling to get your 22 in Zend.
If this forum had Greasers, Phoenix, Commons and Semantics would be the leaders of the gang and every time they commented on something they would do a synchronized finger snap then smoke a cigarette.
One thing I noticed from clicking through some drafts was, that you are often struggling for enough solid creatures.
This is a good thing. Should help to slow the format down.

Mental Misstep Hysteria sweeps the nation! Legacy format to never be the same! Wizards releases new card made of space-age polymers and Tang, infused with the DNA of Ramses II, Alexander the Great, and Joe Montana! The build would probably revolve around G/W landfall synergy (6 Steppe Lynx!), possibly splash blue (not too much good stuff, unfortunately), run lots of lands, maybe 19-20, to feed the Scythe Tigers. Basically a low curved landfall aggro.
Another draft, earning a measly 88.91%...but still, bomby cards are bombs...seriously, Day of Judgement, Rite of Replication, and TWO Eldrazi Monuments (Pack 1, picks 1&2 to boot!)? Too bad the Creatures aren't as good:

I'm still not convinced that Eldrazi Monument is even playable. Awesome in a token deck obviously but more regularly won't you just play this card and attack - at which point they will just attack you back, and then you sac a creature and repeat, until you have no more and lose? I had this in my sealed pool and didn't think twice about not playing it.
The percentage is definitely weird. I usually do okay, but this deck got a 56.91% when I think it's a heck of a lot better than that. Not a surefire winner, and I'd like it better with more two-drops and burn, but I'd certainly feel good about drafting it.
I got 95% with 4 lacerators double nighthawk and double journey to nowhere. A few kor and a couple giant scorpions. I think it values black way more than red, because I drafted what I thought was a pretty sick red deck last night (p1p1 Chandra, multiple burn spells/ geopede and torch tossers) and got around 60%.

So, anyone else use that site and try it out with Zendikar yet?

Make anything good? I was just getting the hang of M10 drafting on there, but Zendikar is really different.

The format looks like it will be defined by utility creatures with "slow" abilities (I'm looking at you, Frontier Guide Merfolk Seastalkers Reckless Scholar)
But yeah, hard to get decent critters, especially if you're in Blue.

Remember, the computer DOES NOT care about value of cards in money at all. These are only good for fixing and landfall triggers.
