Absolutely loaded pack - and I knew whatever I took, my neighbor would get the Naya hook up. Went for the Thunder to keep Grixis open, maybe. Probably should've went Bull, though.

Nacatl Savage
Valiant Guard
Grixis Illusionist
Yoke of the Damned
Ignite Disorder
--> Voices from the Void
Elder Mastery

I hate facing this card in 5C, and I knew my deck would be pretty slow, so a dedraft all the way...plus I doubted I'd run any black to make the Gargoyle any good.
Obviously I won on the back of Feral Hydra and [card]Cliffrunner Behemoth
[/card] since my deck didn't have explosive exalted starts, or a ton of evasion.
Any comments, criticisms, or opinions would be greatly appreciated. I've had a tough time with AAC draft as of late.
I think you gave a pretty good commentary yourself. Definitely cost yourself a few cards when you were pushing 5 color (p1p9 Thrash over Duelist, p2p4 Grixis Charm over Guide, p2p6 Savage Lands over Mosstodon). P3p9 I might have taken the Brackwater Elemental over a second Spore Burst. Also, in building your deck, I was a bit surprised that you included Spell Snip over Unsummon. Congrats on the 3-0.
Absolutely loaded pack - and I knew whatever I took, my neighbor would get the Naya hook up. Went for the Thunder to keep Grixis open, maybe. Probably should've went Bull, though.
I don't fault anyone for taking thunder and trying to dodge Naya, but I think Bull's that much better, and is fine as a splash in literally any archetype. I take fixers aggressively, which some people don't. I think that taking bull and looking for 5c or Naya fat is fine.
Pack 1 pick 2:
Dispeller's Capsule
Volcanic Submersion
Relic of Progenitus
Resounding Wave
Soul's Might Knight of the Skyward Eye
Guardians of Akrasa
Goblin Mountaineer
Shore Snapper
Tidehollow Sculler
--> Infest
Rockcaster Platoon
Invincible Hymn
Island
2nd pick Infest gets me thinking 5C.
Infest is really bad in Jund (thunder), so you're looking to go 5c here. I think taking the Naya card and locking down is fine. You'll be passing an infest, pushing them to look elsewhere. Infest is a greedy pick, I think.
Terrible pack all around, just took the best card.
Paladin literally does nothing for you unless you're taking this as a signal and diving in. It's restrictive both in cost and archetype. Rakeclaw leaves you open to Naya or 5c, and I would do this pick this way no matter what you had taken before.
Pack 1 pick 4:
Ridge Rannet
Undead Leotau (FOIL)
Excommunicate
Banewasp Affliction
Jungle Weaver
Jund Panorama
Glaze Fiend
Gift of the Gargantuan
Obelisk of Bant
--> Bant Charm
Rockcaster Platoon
Plains
Best card again.
You can't just blindly take the best card. You have to have a game plan in mind. Bant Charm is the call if you're taking the way you are, as 5c is the most likely option, with Bant being a plan B of sorts, although that Knight of the Skyward Eye should've been the pick (although I think it ends up tabling)
At this point, I'm thinking Bant is where I'm headed, but I hate to abandon those first two picks.
Correct, although it's better in 5c than it is in Bant.
Pack 1 pick 6:
Call to Heel Yoked Plowbeast
Dregscape Zombie
Kederekt Creeper
Savage Hunger
Ridge Rannet
Soul's Grace
--> Kathari Screecher
Esper Charm
Island
Screecher's pretty bad, since if you're bant, you want to be GWu. Plowbeast is bad in Bant too, but is still better than Screecher, and is miles better in 5c, which is still an option we have to be open to.
This is close with Panorama, but it's likely we'll be able to nab a capsule or two at some point.
Pack 1 pick 8:
Coma Veil
Soul's Grace
Glaze Fiend Esper Panorama
Gift of the Gargantuan
Windwright Mage
--> Jhessian Infiltrator
Mountain
Fixer, not close. Remember, if we're Bant we want to be GWu. That means that Esper colors find us our splash, which is what we want. It should also be noted that it is MILES better if we are 5c, since it casts a ton of our spells so far, including finding that elusive second black for Infest.
So I'm still clinging to 5C possibility...should've been duelist.
If you're looking to 5c (which I would be right now, since the GW guys aren't coming, and the UWg Bant decks are awkward and UGw is unplayable, then Panorama is way more important than some random 5 drop dude.
Pack 1 pick 10:
Dispeller's Capsule
Soul's Might
--> Knight of the Skyward Eye
Goblin Mountaineer
Shore Snapper
Island
10th pick. Awful.
No clue why this is still here.
Pack 1 pick 11:
Banewasp Affliction
--> Island (FOIL)
Onyx Goblet
Mighty Emergence
Island
Pack 2 pick 1:
Obelisk of Jund
Cathartic Adept
Lightning Talons
Naya Panorama
Onyx Goblet
Obelisk of Esper
Rip-Clan Crasher
Elvish Visionary
Bloodpyre Elemental
Soul's Grace
Savage Lands
Blood Cultist
Corpse Connoisseur
--> Feral Hydra
Plains
Feral Hydra without Ranger of Eos is just a dude, and I would give consideration to Savage Lands if that wouldn't send such a horrible signal, and we have to keep that Bant option open as well as looking to 5c, and Hydra fits in both.
Pack 2 pick 2:
Knight of the Skyward Eye (FOIL)
Sigil Blessing
Druid of the Anima
Ridge Rannet
Onyx Goblet
Obelisk of Esper
Godtoucher
Gustrider Exuberant
Resounding Wave
Magma Spray
Naya Battlemage
--> Bant Charm
Rockcaster Platoon
Forest
Very fortunate that we get to keep our options open longer. It should be noted that if we go 5c, we'll be heavily Bant based, making that Infest trouble. That means that if we do look to go 5c, we need the double fixers like Spire and Sphere in pack 3.
Same, but you're right to keep the options open for either.
Pack 2 pick 4:
Vectis Silencers Welkin Guide
Bone Splinters
Savage Hunger
Windwright Mage
Jund Panorama
Relic of Progenitus
Hindering Light
--> Grixis Charm
Bant Battlemage
Dragon's Herald
Plains
Should've been Guide, I suppose....still haven't given up on 5C nonsense.
This is a bit awkward. My gut reaction was Charm, but Panorama might be better in 5c, but then in my version at least, we're overloaded in the two slot, so we can use a pick to firm our Bant deck if that's the direction we take without having to marry it quite yet.
Pack 2 pick 5:
Call to Heel
Yoked Plowbeast
Dregscape Zombie
Kederekt Creeper
Savage Hunger
--> Esper Panorama
Obelisk of Naya
Gift of the Gargantuan
Windwright Mage
Scavenger Drake
Plains
This officially marks the last pick where I cling to 5C. Mosstodon would've been so much better for me.
It's fine, we have like 10 playables in Bant and 13 or so in 5c, so the land is ok. Mosstodon's not that impressive in Bant considering we don't have any Druids or Stewards.
Pack 3 pick 3:
Dark Temper
Parasitic Strix
--> Matca Rioters
Bone Saw
Canyon Minotaur
Rotting Rats
Asha's Favor
Nacatl Outlander
Grixis Illusionist
Jhessian Balmgiver
Dreadwing
Mark of Asylum

Pack 3 pick 4:
Esper Cormorants
Unsummon
Rhox Meditant
Vedalken Outlander
Absorb Vis
Lapse of Certainty
Scattershot Archer
Yoke of the Damned
Nacatl Savage
Filigree Fracture
--> Scepter of Dominance
Mountain
I had a tough time deciding between this and the cormorants, since I was really lacking creatures, but this turned out to be a house for me.
Total bomb.
Pack 3 pick 5:
Darklit Gargoyle
Wretched Banquet
--> Esper Cormorants
Nacatl Savage
Valiant Guard
Grixis Illusionist
Yoke of the Damned
Jhessian Balmgiver
Esperzoa
Scepter of Insight
Island
I considered the blue scepter here, but picked the flier instead.
This one, on the other hand, is mediocre at best.
Pack 3 pick 6:
Darklit Gargoyle
Wretched Banquet
Nacatl Savage
Valiant Guard
Grixis Illusionist
Yoke of the Damned Ignite Disorder
--> Voices from the Void
Elder Mastery
Swamp
I hate facing this card in 5C, and I knew my deck would be pretty slow, so a dedraft all the way...plus I doubted I'd run any black to make the Gargoyle any good.
This is where it gets weird, because if you drafted the way I did, you can splash Bull with all that fixing. If you do that, then you can actually cast Ignite, so you take the one of the two cards that you wouldn't want to face that you can board yourself.
Pack 3 pick 10:
Bone Saw
--> Sedraxis Alchemist Constricting Tendrils
Court Homunculus
Elder Mastery
Island
Great with your Scepter, and you can't really cack a card out of this pack since there are 2 great ones outside of your colors. Man-o-war and a Dragon are tough to choose between, so you just take the card that benifits you and hope.
Pack 3 pick 11:
Bone Saw
Asha's Favor
Grixis Illusionist
--> Jhessian Balmgiver
Island
I keep going back and forth on this card, and I've decided in Bant.dec its actually pretty good. This + Cliffrunner won me an unwinnable game.
It's fine, although your mana's pretty ugly.
Pack 3 pick 12:
--> Unsummon
Lapse of Certainty
Nacatl Savage
Mountain
Pack 3 pick 13:
Valiant Guard
--> Grixis Illusionist
Island
Pack 3 pick 14:
--> Valiant Guard
Swamp
Pack 3 pick 15:
--> Swamp
Meh. Killed a few minutes. That draft was a bit awkward, since you never really WANT to be Bant, and when you are, you have to look for sub-archetype identity, and you weren't really given any, despite the signals calling that white was open. Hope this helped.

Very fortunate that we get to keep our options open longer. It should be noted that if we go 5c, we'll be heavily Bant based, making that Infest trouble. That means that if we do look to go 5c, we need the double fixers like Spire and Sphere in pack 3.
Pack 2 pick 3:
Hissing Iguanar
Vectis Silencers
Deathgreeter
Kederekt Creeper
Spell Snip
--> Bant Panorama
Gustrider Exuberant
Soul's Might
Undead Leotau
Crumbling Necropolis
Dragon's Herald
Corpse Connoisseur
Swamp
I toyed with the Necropolis.
Same, but you're right to keep the options open for either.
Pack 2 pick 4:
Vectis Silencers
Welkin Guide
Bone Splinters
Savage Hunger
Windwright Mage
Jund Panorama
Relic of Progenitus
Hindering Light
--> Grixis Charm
--> Esper Panorama
Obelisk of Naya
Gift of the Gargantuan
Windwright Mage
Scavenger Drake
Plains
Pack 2 pick 6:
Cathartic Adept
Lightning Talons
Naya Panorama
Onyx Goblet
Obelisk of Esper
Godtoucher
Soul's Grace
Mosstodon
--> Savage Lands
Forest
This officially marks the last pick where I cling to 5C. Mosstodon would've been so much better for me.
It's fine, we have like 10 playables in Bant and 13 or so in 5c, so the land is ok. Mosstodon's not that impressive in Bant considering we don't have any Druids or Stewards.
Pack 2 pick 7:
Ridge Rannet
Steelclad Serpent
--> Excommunicate
Banewasp Affliction
Godtoucher
Gustrider Exuberant
Resounding Wave
Naturalize
Forest
I'm holding out hope.
Pack 2 pick 8:
Vectis Silencers
Cancel
Bloodthorn Taunter
Angelsong
Filigree Sages
--> Sigiled Paladin
Behemoth's Herald
Forest
So its pretty clear white was greatly under drafted.
And there we are, Bant it is, lock it up, etc.
Pack 2 pick 9:
Cathartic Adept
Lightning Talons
Onyx Goblet
--> Obelisk of Esper
Soul's Grace
Corpse Connoisseur
Plains
Probably should've dedrafted the Connoisseur.
Can't beat that card.
Pack 2 pick 10:
--> Ridge Rannet
Onyx Goblet
Obelisk of Esper
Godtoucher
Resounding Wave
Forest
Wave if you didn't take the other one, Rannet if you did.
Pack 2 pick 11:
Vectis Silencers
Deathgreeter
--> Spell Snip
Dragon's Herald
Swamp
Pack 2 pick 12:
Savage Hunger
--> Hindering Light
Dragon's Herald
Plains
Pack 2 pick 13:
--> Call to Heel
Savage Hunger
Plains
If we play Bant, this is 90% making the cut.
Pack 2 pick 14:
--> Soul's Grace
Forest
Pack 2 pick 15:
--> Forest
------ CON ------
Pack 3 pick 1:
--> Aven Trailblazer
Toxic Iguanar
Traumatic Visions
Wandering Goblins (FOIL)
Beacon Behemoth
Zombie Outlander
Salvage Slasher
Brackwater Elemental
Exploding Borders
Maniacal Rage
Controlled Instincts
Dragonsoul Knight
Spore Burst
Cylian Sunsinger
Plains
Pack 3 pick 2:
Bone Saw
Gleam of Resistance
Sedraxis Alchemist
Vedalken Outlander
Wild Leotau
Suicidal Charge
Constricting Tendrils
Court Homunculus
Molten Frame
Shard Convergence
Celestial Purge
Elder Mastery
--> Cliffrunner Behemoth
Island
Pack 3 pick 3:
Dark Temper
Parasitic Strix
--> Matca Rioters
Bone Saw
Canyon Minotaur
Rotting Rats
Asha's Favor
Nacatl Outlander
Grixis Illusionist
Jhessian Balmgiver
Dreadwing
Mark of Asylum
Island
Pack 3 pick 4:
Esper Cormorants
Unsummon
Rhox Meditant
Vedalken Outlander
Absorb Vis
Lapse of Certainty
Scattershot Archer
Yoke of the Damned
Nacatl Savage
Filigree Fracture
--> Scepter of Dominance
Mountain
I had a tough time deciding between this and the cormorants, since I was really lacking creatures, but this turned out to be a house for me.
Total bomb.
Pack 3 pick 5:
Darklit Gargoyle
Wretched Banquet
--> Esper Cormorants
Nacatl Savage
Valiant Guard
Grixis Illusionist
Yoke of the Damned
Jhessian Balmgiver
Esperzoa
Scepter of Insight
Island
I considered the blue scepter here, but picked the flier instead.
This one, on the other hand, is mediocre at best.
Pack 3 pick 6:
Darklit Gargoyle
Wretched Banquet
Nacatl Savage
Valiant Guard
Grixis Illusionist
Yoke of the Damned
Ignite Disorder
--> Voices from the Void
Pack 3 pick 7:
Beacon Behemoth
Darklit Gargoyle
Unsummon
Kranioceros
Faerie Mechanist
Asha's Favor
Corrupted Roots
--> Spore Burst
Swamp
I've never played this before, but it actually was pretty effective in tying up the ground for a while. What do you guys think about it?
Mediocre in 3c Exaltedish midrange, but you're not aggressive enough for Unsummon, so here you are.
Pack 3 pick 8:
Frontline Sage
--> Aven Squire
Wretched Banquet
Canyon Minotaur
Infectious Horror
Wandering Goblins
Countersquall
Plains
Woot.
Pack 3 pick 9:
Wandering Goblins (FOIL)
Beacon Behemoth
Zombie Outlander
Salvage Slasher
Brackwater Elemental
--> Spore Burst
Plains
Brick wall that can dome for 4 in your alpha.
Pack 3 pick 10:
Bone Saw
--> Sedraxis Alchemist
Constricting Tendrils
Court Homunculus
Elder Mastery
Island
Great with your Scepter, and you can't really cack a card out of this pack since there are 2 great ones outside of your colors. Man-o-war and a Dragon are tough to choose between, so you just take the card that benifits you and hope.
Pack 3 pick 11:
Bone Saw
Asha's Favor
Grixis Illusionist
--> Jhessian Balmgiver
Island
I keep going back and forth on this card, and I've decided in Bant.dec its actually pretty good. This + Cliffrunner won me an unwinnable game.
It's fine, although your mana's pretty ugly.
Pack 3 pick 12:
--> Unsummon
Lapse of Certainty
Nacatl Savage
Mountain
Pack 3 pick 13:
Valiant Guard
--> Grixis Illusionist
Island
Pack 3 pick 14:
--> Valiant Guard
Swamp
Pack 3 pick 15:
--> Swamp
Meh. Killed a few minutes. That draft was a bit awkward, since you never really WANT to be Bant, and when you are, you have to look for sub-archetype identity, and you weren't really given any, despite the signals calling that white was open. Hope this helped.
