Welcome to the first MTGSalvation You Make the Cube!
The General Discussion threads for this project will be posted in the main Limited forum for greater visibility. All voting threads will still be in the Cube subforum...
This project will let the community build a Cube. What is it, you ask? Click on this link to learn more. The short of it is that it is a choice compilation of the "best" cards from all of Magic's history that are put together for Limited play. As the "best" part is very subjective, this project will try to determine if a collective body can make a fun Cube that is good for the majority...
The following are the only cards that will not be considered for the project:
- The Power Nine (just for this year; next year, if there is enough clamor, we can either remove this restriction or expand it)
Details can be found in their respective threads...
Even if I put all three Yes options in last week's poll together, that would still put it at 50-50, so I don't think FCC cards are a popular option this year.
...
This week's poll is a simple question that may or may not add cards to the cube in the last week...
A side effect of the Week 1 Linear Strategy option is that the five colors have a different breakdown of cards. Week 8 was made as an option to fill in any holes, and this is potentially one of them...
This week's question: Should the five colors have an equal number of cards?
How long after our nominations are we allowed to edit our picks? For example, I nominate Kokusho, the Evening Star (which already has quite a few nominations) and a few hours later Bataleur nominates Helldozer, one of my favorite cards that slipped my mind when I was nominating earlier. I am inclined to edit my post to nominate Helldozer instead of Kokusho, but I am unsure if you have started tallying the votes already? I'm sure it's not a big deal, but some clarification would be nice.
And the colors should definitely be even at the start. My friends and I started with an equal number of cards in each color, but gradually skewed the numbers to help support some of the colors that were underdrafted (white). It's a trial and error process though, and I think that we definitely should start with a balanced color distribution. Just my two cents though..
BTW Shepard, you are doing an amazing job with this.

It's OK, they're nominations. The voting is a separate procedure once all the nominations are in.
This is important since it gives people a chance for things they might not have thought of nominating. (For example, I tend to forget about cards printed before Invasion unless they're really famous or good in 5-Card Blind!)

You can pretty much change your noms until Wednesday (24 hours later), but as bateleur said, it doesn't matter much if someone else nominates it. It does matter if no one else nominates the card you had in mind, though.
Originally, the plan was to have high-counting nominees go in automatically, but with not as many people nominating as originally planned, that part of the plan is out the window.

Okay, I was thinking that the cards that were only nominated once or twice wouldn't even make it to the voting.. Thanks for the clarification.
And I misphrased my question earlier, I know that nominations =/= votes.

- The Power Nine (just for this year; next year, if there is enough clamor, we can either remove this restriction or expand it)
- Unglued and Unhinged sets
- Cards with the word "ante" in the text box.
- Shahrazad
- Chaos Orb and Falling Star
- 1996 World Champion
Anything else is fair game, except for Shadowmoor which is yet to be released...
Now, welcome to Black Week...
The remaining colors, in order of the next weeks, are White, then Blue...
There will be five categories for each of the colors, namely...
- Low CC Creatures (1-3)
- Mid CC Creatures (4-5)
- High CC Creatures (6+)
- Low CC Noncreatures (1-4)
- High CC Noncreatures (5+)
Details can be found in their respective threads...

All nominations for this week end on Wednesday.
Till then...
