We could take Bring Low here if we want to stay the course, but there are two very strong green commons here, which I would consider a signal. As posertom mentioned, our rare is a bit overrated anyway, and green gives us outs to draft Sultai or Abzan, so I think it's time to switch gears. I'm not actually sure if Woolly or Punch is better in a vacuum, but with two very good removal spells already and Punch being dependent on having big creatures I think I'm going to vote for Woolly Loxodon.
Yeah, green looks open, and pairs well with our black cards. Meanwhile, bring low isn't all that exciting. Where we disagree, funkenstein, is that I'll take the first savage punch over the first loxodon. As good as loxodon is (and I'm very high on it), there are other beefy cards that can fill the void.
Savage Punch for me. It is the better removal here and green does seem open. I'm not adamant about playing our first pick, though I would hate to see it no make the deck. Though to make the Twins shine we'd need power enhancers, preferably more permanent ones like +1/+1 counters or auras/equipment. Punch delivers in that regard, too, to a degree.
The pick is between Sultai Scavenger and Mardu Skullhunter for me. I would definitely take Scavenger if we did not already have a delve card; there's a risk of getting too many of those. I'm not sure Skullhunter is the two drop we want, though. There's a pretty good chance our deck ends up more on the controlling side, which means we won't get the discard that often and the ETB tapped drawback is pretty substantial. I think I'm going to vote for Scavenger and try not to prioritize other delve cards too highly going forward.
Edit: For some reason I did not consider Bloodstained Mire the first time around, but I think that's actually the pick. Our red card is better than our green card, and even if we don't end up in red a fetch land is basically a swamp that gives us a free Lotus Petal for delve cards.
Mardu Skullhunter over bloodstained mire and sultai scavenger, and we consider backing away from the savage punch pick (in hindsight, we may regret not taking the bring low). All the best cards in the pack are BR (plus hordechief, which only goes in black or red decks), so I feel confident we're in the right lane.
I'd go with Bloodstained Mire. None of the picks is very exciting. I'd put my delve eggs in the Dead Drop basket rather than the scavenger, and the skullhunter is not very exciting either, Both can come to be further picks. The mire can potentially be a good fix and feeds our graveyard a little bit.
I'll go with the removal, Bring Low. I don't think, we are set into any color combination yet. Even our black cards can all be easily splashed still. And this deck, too, could potentially go Jund instead of a wedge.
I'm not as high on Feat as some seem to be, and it's not a reason to pick up another color as far as I'm concerned. Especially not when there's a perfectly fine removal spell in our colors: Bring Low.
Nonetheless, I'm not going to give up on our excellent black cards easily. My thought would be to position ourselves into mardu, so we can play two thirds of all these amazing jeskai cards going around. That said, I'm not just going to jump into white for a feat of resistance when we already have a good red card and red fixing pointing us toward BR. Bring low is on-color, low-risk, and fits our removal + fatties plan.
Yep, that mardu charm is the signal we've been looking for. But let's keep in mind we may not want a lot of mardu cards, especially aggressive white ones. We look more like a controlling BRw version to me.
