This is a draft excercise, where people can vote on this particular player's next pick in the draft. Scroll down to the latest post to see the current choices.
This excercise has concluded. If you are interested in how this player's pool turned out, go to the end of the thread, and maybe try your hand at building the deck.
Having picked Verix, I want to play it, so red cards get more appealing. There are three cards here, that stand out to me: Skizzik, Intervention, and Offering. Offering is the better removal, and we probably shouldn't lock ourselfs into a color this early, so that's my pick.
I think, the best choice here is the Acolyte. Evasion wins Limited games, and a 3/2 flyer can go quite a way. The Raider may be a good choice, too, since it is a big midrange critter. And I can even see some arguments for taking the rare land.
It's somewhat curious, that the Aven Sentry is still around in this pack. This may indicate, that white is open, but it's too early to say. There is also Deep Freeze as blue removal. With Verix as the first pick, I feel we should push red, though, if possible. And there are two good red cards in Valduk and the Cyclops. I'll be speculating a bit on getting some equipment and maybe a playable aura or two, so I take Valduk. As a legendary, he will also help with historic stuff.
I take the Raider. We want to play red for Verix, while black could be an easy splash. Skin-Witch and Chronicler could be useful, too, but right now, I want something beefier.
A few cards here, that would be useful. Obviously, the Golbin is better than the Evangel as an early creature. The Short Sword would help Valduk. The Sentinel is a combat trick and can keep both Valduk and Verix alive. Blue actually looks quite open, but the cards here don't push me much into that color yet. So my favored choices come down to Goblin vs. Short Sword. I'll take the Goblin.
I don't see anything here, I'd want to play for sure. We could either hate one of the bigger fatties or take the black aura. That one could potentially make the deck and has synergy with Valduk. So, Demonic Vigor.
It come down to the Lance or Infection, I think. I've read some praises about the Infection, but I just don't see it do that much. I'd rather have the Lance to attach to Valduk.
If you are already reading this, why not pick a card and vote? The point of this excercise is to have people collectively choose the next pick after all. You don't have to explain your choice, that is optional.

Frenzied Rage might make the deck, and now I kind of wish for another Valduk.

Is there really a world where we run two vigor? I'd rather take one of those solid blue cards just in case things change down the line. Snapper goes well with our pump effects, too.

As of yet, black is not fixed for this deck, I can easily see it shift into some other color and just splashing the Offering. Here I'd want to hate the hard to deal with creature, and maybe we'll even be blue in the end. Cold-Water Snapper.

If I was drafting this on my own, I'd be gladly picking up the nonbasic and see where my enthusiasm for splashing takes me. In a more serious attempt, I'd probably go Caligo Skin-Witch.
