RB decks have recently started killing me withthis pretty much every time I don't block all of their creatures all the time, and it's left me running kinda scared of them. I'm curious if this has started being a thing for everyone, and if so, how should I be adapting in deckbuilding/drafting? Are people taking these cards higher? Do they constitute a signal of any kind at any point?
I've been drafting uncaged fury highly when in the color since the beginning, always served me well. It just randomly closes games, sometimes unexpectedly winning otherwise lost games.
Uncaged fury + rush of adrenaline is the better combo imo (and much easier to assemble). I think the general odea is to just be very afraid of uncaged fury if youre in red, and to keep in mind that the fury + rush combo can trample you out of a game. I will take fury at around midpick now, and always aim to get at least one copy of fury/rush in all of my red decks since its powerful enough and easy to assemble to just win you multiple games out of nowhere. Ive beaten a guy who milled himself to the bottom of his deck and just cast Ever After repeatedly for every single creature in his graveyard because he didnt account for the trample damage when blocking.
Yeah, Uncaged Fury in particular makes the Rx aggro decks scary. I've had the "better" deck with a good draw and still lost multiple times in the finals of 8-4's to a Rx curve of random dudes backed up by Fury at just the right time.
You should simply trade aggressively against a red deck and try to keep an instant speed removal/trick to blow them out when they try to go for a play like that. The sooner you make them use those tricks the better usually.
against red there's three cards you need to consider.
1: uncaged fury
calculate the power of their highest guy + uncaged fury... if it puts you to 3 or less, play as if they have it
2: Voldaren Duelist
he seems to show up at the worst times. if you've seen him game 1, play as if they have him the following games.
3: dance of the devils
easiest to play around because it's usually obvious when they're packing it. i will still attack into it by offering only one guy for them to kill (usually the lone attacker)
