All in all, I've found the card to be pretty mediocre. It can be a decent finisher in the GW support deck, though.

Really underrated card. Even without support counters it's great on defense and solid on offense. Gets positively unfair when you start giving flying to your 5/5 Snapping Gnarlid.

I like Steppe Glider a whole lot. Without any +1 counters it's filler at best in my view but in a deck with at least a couple of ways to add +1 counters (which is very difficult not to have in a white deck) this card is good and if there are decent-sized ground creatures in the deck which can get +1 counters then this is very good.

Boring, but you usually want one in a deck with a reasonable ally theme. Tapping down two of your creatures is a great way to eliminate the value of tapping one of your opponent's, though. Low pick in draft, since you're rarely happy to have to play a second one.

Not impressed with this one, and personally I avoided playing it. But once or twice it was played against me to the effect of slight annoyance.

I used it a few times to Sheer Drop some annoying vigilant creatures.

Spawnbinder Mage is in my view a somewhat important component of the black-white controlling life-gain-and-drain ally deck (unless the deck has a lot of removal) which is the best type of deck in the set if you can assemble the pieces (mostly common), and is decent in a generally controlling ally deck (unless the deck has a lot of removal), but a bit sub-par in an average deck with a good number of allies, and very sub-par in a deck without more than a few allies.

Can we talk about how weird it is that this isn't a Condiment?

I mean, Mustard tokens are Creature - Condiment Bear, but Mayo is just a cat? And it's not like it's clear from the art which is which... neither Mayo nor Mustard actually have condiments in their artwork. In fact, I think the only creatures in the set that do have condiments in their art are Ketchup (Human Advisor Condiment) and Tobor of the Thousand Islands, who also isn't a Condiment despite having a sandwich in his (non-promo) art.

I get that they have make sure that condiment tribal is balanced in draft, but it all just seems needlessly confusing.

Mayo should really be an ooze token imo.

My friend told me he considers Miracle Whip to be a higher pick than Mayo.

I told him he was out of his mind.

Well, Miracle Whip is an equipment, not a creature, so they don't even belong in the same archetype. I would not draft the whip unless I'm sure I'll be able to run at least 3 bread types.

Mayo is really freaking good against the sandwich archetype and it's great tech for MiraclesWhip.dec, but it's generally terrible otherwise. Sideboard only.

I prefer Dark Condiment

Clearly terrible in a 4 color control pile, but actually a fairly desirable card for the RG blitz deck. I'm glad it exists, and it should be super obvious whether you want it (unless you're an aggressive rakdos/Jeskai/Marduk deck with a borderline playable count, in which case it's a maybe).

Splashable nekrataal is splashable. Great card to return to your hand (from the battlefield or the graveyard). One of the numerous strong single color car in pack 1.
