He's about the only card I think has potential so far.
Four toughness to survive bolts, races TNN very well, TNN can't even play defense effectively vs him because the tokens will just keep getting through.
Colds Nimble Mongoose as well, and can play offense while doing it thanks to vigilance.
Goyf can cold his offense if he gets up to a 4/5+ as can KotR, but it's an interesting dynamic because neither can swing in themselves despite being bigger because Brimaz outraces both because he'll get the free tokens on his own swing that would start fogging them each turn.
I like that he just matches up well against the creatures Plow can't hit,
It's interesting enough that Brimaz + Karakas can't prevent an opposing Jitte from getting counters. You'll bounce Brimaz but they'll still have the token to assign damage to. Same would apply to trample, though that's certainly less relevant in Legacy for what it's worth.
Obviously the biggest question is if this is strong enough to replace other finishers in D&T as that seems to be the most likely home for him. Crusader matches up better against B/G/x decks because of the protection, but Brimaz with four toughness will give decks relying on red removal fits which Crusader matches up poorly against. I think Brimaz does better than Serra Avenger in general, particularly because he dodges Bolt, her evasion to dodge stuff like TNN isn't as key because Brimaz naturally matches up well, the tokens he leaves behind give equipment targets should he be removed, and he's Karakas friendly. In the right metagame I can see Crusader's protection still being what you want. I guess Avenger still beats something like Moat, but in general Brimaz seems better positioned.
EDIT
I've seen people suggest a split of Brimaz and Avenger, for hella vigilance and still getting Avenger's evasion when it matters. That actually looks pretty sweet.
It does get past leyline but the main issue is the damage to player is contingent on the creature dying.
This case could be made about a lot of fringe cards in nearly any deck. Overall, both cards are very conditional. Getting around leyline is key for burn -- but there are a lot of variables that work against said cards being effective and efficient. For example, you could argue Flame Rift does just as good if not better than those cards. Price of Progress x4 in the main deck as well.
@Dyne:
Not sure. Where would be be best? I feel he doesn't support existing archetypes any better. He's no "upgrade" to anything but is potentially powerful. I can't help but think he's a small step up from Lorescale Coatl.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.

Oh, I thought he was talking about playing a spell that is countering a spell with counters on it as it comes into play, but I see you guys were just discussing whether he was flashing a creature with flash in order to flash a flashback or just flashing a creature with flash but not needing flash in order to flashback a spell without flash.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
I love the spirit. They pushed her pretty hard and I definitely think she'll see heavy Legacy play. One thing to note is that she doesn't stop ALL extra card draws. Instants and abilities like Horizon Canopy can still be used during an opponent's turn. Still, she does a good job of turning off Jace and the blue cantrips since most are sorceries.
Oh good, this is exactly what Enchantress was looking for out of Theros block... an enchantment creature built to hose their deck entirely. I'm sure they'll be thrilled.
Meanwhile, I expect vialing this in in response to Brainstorm to become a common sight soon enough. Notion Thief is nice tech and all, but here you actually get a reasonable body that you don't have to break the bank for.
So if you cast Brainstorm on opponent's turn, would you at least be able to draw one card? (kinda lame though that you have to place two cards back anyway. lmao)

This card is very strong. If only it wasn't a creature...
But, since it *is* a creature, a 3/1 for 2 is exactly where you want to be in legacy.
I can see this as an easy fit in Death and Taxes, Junk, and possibly maverick. My gut says she's good in Stoneblade, but I'm not sure if they'd want to cut off their own drawspells so it would need testing.
So if you cast Brainstorm on opponent's turn, would you at least be able to draw one card? (kinda lame though that you have to place two cards back anyway. lmao)
Yes
Oh, also it's worth noting that she synergizes well with Bob for some truly irritating card advantage.
I'm starting to be glad I have played enchantress this last little while now. I am curious more so now how this may effect all the cantrip based decks. What will be the new face of X_delver.dec?

Not at all? It'll just get removed. it's not like people stopped playing cantrip cores when Thalia ran rampant, this card isn't much different. It's a nuisance but not a backbreaker.

Yeah, Spirit of the Labyrinth will make a huge impact on Eternal. Interestingly, it seems like a card that only really fits in Death and Taxes and Maverick-style decks. You certainly can't put this in a sideboard of a UWx deck. In that regard, I think it's a clever design and ultimately a positive addition to the format.
On the other hand, her 1 toughness means that she dies to all the same hate that True-Name Nemesis dies to, so it might be an awkward time to enter the format since Golgari Charm and Zealous Persecution have never been more popular.

The Spirit says you can't draw more than 1, if you can't draw again, you can't replace a draw you don't have with a dredge I would argue.
If you draw a card during a turn, you won't be able to dredge due to further card draws after that. However, as long as you dredge without drawing a card, you may dredge as much as you want.
^No, as long as you never actually draw a card you can dredge a million times in your turn with no repercussions. Once you've actually drawn a card electing not to dredge then you're done for that turn and can no longer draw or dredge.

Paying 1 more mana for a brainstorm is quite different from drawing 1, putting 2 back (or even draw none, put 2 back)

Huh. Spirit is a thing. I didn't think they've have the nerve to print something like that. This is going to be a big deal, I think. I'm looking forward to the Brainstorm blowouts with this and Vial.
That said, this is one hate card that storm decks can point and laugh at. Most of the time, anyways.

High Tide, TES, and ANT run most of the 1-mana blue cantrips, Tin Fins almost completely relies on G-shizzle, many SI lists still rely on Cruel Bargain and Infernal Contract, and the creature-based storm decks (like Cheeri0s) won't work without Glimpse. I'd call this a pretty serious storm hoser -- the only "storm" deck I see working around it is Belcher.

Ladies and gentlemen, DnT just got a new toy.
Current decks of choice:
Vintage: Shops.
Legacy: Lands.
Modern: Lantern.
(...let's just name stuff that Notion Thief hoses later than her...)
Love Vialing her in response to those? (Yeah, imagine doing that in response to Brainstorm or a Griselbrand Rip 7...)
Sadly, she can't stop Dredge!

Sweet card.
[THS|SOM|5TH] Devotion to Black
The 3/1 body makes for a nice beater/clock too, although a bit more frail. I have a feeling I'm gonna hate her a lot. So glad she doesn't have flying.
Sidenote: It's totally unnecessary, but it would've been neat to see her with Bestow.
