Wrong I've been playing stax since before you guys released it.
I've been playing it for a long time since before I released it as well, in several different forms actually. Still, the fact of the matter is that nobody seems to have enough confidence to take anything that isn't Sun Tower to a large tournament. Having complete confidence in Sun Tower, I'll be playing it, along with teammates. I'd love to be proven wrong, but it hasn't happened yet.
I'll be playing B/W Stax becuase I like the versatility of having stax 5 and 6, and I don't own rolling earthquakes so I can't make suntower that effectively.

Asking people to remove quotes in their signatures is tyranny! If I can't say something just because someone's feelings are hurt then no one would ever be able to say anything! Political correctness is stupid.
I'm almost 100% sure I'll be going to Columbus. Since I want to play in at least one GP Trial first, Columbus will then be the second or third time I've played Legacy in a tourney. I can't claim to know much about it, but I've been looking thru here the past few days, and will continue to do so, to try and catch up.
Currently, I want to play an updated version of Pikula's Philly deck. It's mainly because I <3 <3 <3 Hymn to Tourach and Sinkhole, and would love to play them against people when it counts (since I haven't been able to for 12 years or so). I'm fairly happy with the first 57 cards of the deck, but I'm not sure what I want 58-60 to be yet.
The last list I saw in the Red Death thread (which is itself over a month old) only had 7 burn spells. While I like the reach that burn provides, only 7 spells isn't very compelling. Plus, Negator seems absolutely awful if anyone plays Red, or creatures of their own. I might sideboard it depending on the matchup, but it seems like a sketchy maindeck choice. I say this, of course, without having tested the deck.
Im going to be playing a R/W/G combo enchantress deck which has been kicking ass and taking names in the local tourneys In fact so much that locals have started putting tranquility effects x 4 in there board just to try and slow me down well at least until I drop this little gem karmic justice Ill post my list after the gp. Lookin forward to playing against some of you see you there.
I wish you all luck. Its hard to influence the meta from 10,000 miles away...but if I was coming I'd probably bring one of the two decks in my sig...I can never run a deck which I didn't design, my momma didn't raise me that way.
But seriously, Sun Tower is looking good. And Vile Horror and Death and Taxes could use some big tournament results.
And if anyone takes any of my decks I will worship them forever

"We've made OVER NINE THOUSAND unique cards."
- MaRo, October 8th, 2007 IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAND!!!!!
Now...is Future Sight legal for Columbus ? Because if it is, Hulk Flash will be seriously changing the metagame (maybe even if FS isn't legal then). A combo deck that could be a) faster b) more resistant then TES is mean...and it isn't stopped by Chalice, Trinisphere, Pillar. Wow.
I believe it's the day before FS becomes legal; thank god. Hulk Flash will still be alright but nowhere near as obscene without the pacts.
Edit: Daze and Worldy Tutor can replace the pacts of negation and summoner's pact, though they are less efficient, for the most part.
Guys serious question no hype here. Is the Flash Hulk deck going to make a showing or is this just hype and talk. Do i really need to consider changing decks so i can easily beat this deck.
The Incredible Hulk can be very effective. I'm currently testing a very efficient build of it and people in the Columbus Hulk thread say they can combo off turn two 25%+ of the time. I don't remember the exact percentage, but it was somewhere between 25 and 40, I believe. Also, because of all the hype, it is going to be played by many players, so it is worth having a sideboard against it. I've found Stifle and Trickbind to be pretty effective, and they can also come in against TES, Solidarity, IGGy-Pop, and any other Storm based deck.
Personally, I expect there to be enough decks there to warrant a U or B splash, no matter what colors you're playing, for either Stifle/Trickbind (blue) or hand disruption and Leyline of the Void (black). Those are really, from what I've seen, the only two colors that can actually compete against the deck going off that early. If your deck already runs one of those colors, drop in on the Hulk thread in Developing Competitive and see what they are worried about. If you're not in those colors, I highly suggest splashing one of them.
The Hulk players definitely expect a large turnout and showing of Hulk decks because they have sideboard options at the ready to beat the mirror. I'd say it's worth being ready for. -Jack
I'm hoping they'll annouce Flash is banned Monday in emergency status effective immediately...but I'm starting to worry they won't. It won a couple legacy tournaments (including GPTs) this weekend I've read on other sites like the source and TMD.
You need to prep against them, especially the aggro decks.
Many semi-flexible cards like Leyline of the Void and Stifle are being moved to the MD aggressively in many decks, and similarly a lot of the other decks are molding in other ways to take an anti-flash stance.
It may not be in its prime, but Hulk Flash will definitely make a splash.

Celebrating 3 years of open-minded acceptance, indispensable help, great advice, and incalculably-creative deck-design... Thanks for all the magic!
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
Do i really need to consider changing decks so i can easily beat this deck.
That sentence is incorrect. You see not only do you have to change decks, you can't easily beat Hulk Flash. That's simply because no deck can actually go more than 50-60% against the Hulk, while many simply die to a 20/80% match-up. The pre-fs stock lists are beatable, however they are still some of the best decks in the format. The real ball dropper will be the much better tuned lists that the pros decide to play. Not even hate decks like UW and UWb Fish can get more thaqn a 50% match win against those.

I don't really understand the fear of pros' deckbuilding skills. Legacy deckbuilders are more than capable of ultra-resilient Flash builds, we just don't always release our tech outside of teams/test groups until we've done well with it. As is there are U/B/r and 5c fetchland-based Flash builds floating around between teams that simply don't lose to UW or UWb Fish, and give everything short of 4x Extract, 4x Extirpate, 16 discard/counter U/B Control a run for their money. Sadly, even flash_hate.dec doesn't always beat these builds due to upwards of 16 disruptions spells, good tutors, a properly designed manabase, and generally sound deckbuilding. The players and their pairings, not the individual builds, are what will decide the winning Flash builds. The edge the pros have is that they, on average, make fewer mistakes playing.
As for builds, I'll bet Meandeck, EPIC, etc bring much better tuned lists than most, if not all, of the pros bring. Any takers?

I call fiction. The good eternal players are about as good as the peopel who consistently T8 ptqs, maybe a little worse. Pro play teams are much better builders in addition to making less mistakes. The format's randomness factor means the T8 probably wont be star studded, but ineviatably in magic the cream rises to the top. I've heard that a few very good deckbuilders have been tuning flash; hence my calling of fiction.
What does everyone think the percentages of control/ combo/ aggro will be at the GP I personally believe it will be combo ridden like 40-45% and my deck will have heavy board and a couple main slots for the combo match. Of course I probly wont face a single one of them lol but Ill be preppared to stomp them into the ground game 2-3.
