We're trying to ramp up again by encouraging Legacy players to meet regularly in San Francisco. Ideally we'll have a sign-in sheet and if the group grows to a decent size, eventually we'll either create our own tournaments or petition certain stores to have more Legacy events.
It may take some time, but the goal is to bring the dispersed Legacy players in the Bay Area together so we can have a group and hopefully either host our own tourneys or have a store host one once they realize the demographic exists.
I should be able to recruit more people from my Wed draft group.
The more the merrier! Reply to this thread if you have questions and I will PM you with my email address.
Well, I am a San Francisco resident who enjoys the Legacy format, but I don't think I can make it to your meeting, due to other obligations. I just want to say, however, that it's nice to see someone take the time and effort to put something like this together, especially since San Francisco seems to be rather lacking in card stores and tournament venues. Good luck to you.
Thanks slash!
Yeah it's hard times for Legacy in our area. It's a pity. However, I believe the format is strong and incredibly fun. If we can raise awareness, hopefully others will realize it's their format of choice and have additional incentive if we can start having tourneys.
We'll see!
Backup plan is Westfield Mall (nearby) food court if Cafe Venue doesn't pan out.
I'll probably update how it went and maybe we can have more people as the weeks go on.
Hi there! I'm also a San Francisco Magic player who also enjoys Legacy. I'm glad to see you organizing this, but you do have to realize that today is the famous SF gay pride parade...and this goes up for a long time. Sure, the march ends around noon, but there'll be tons of people there, so you have to consider that it may be an inconvenience to many.
That's a very good point. The good news is they can come next time
At least that way we'll feel good about the group increasing in size week over week!
Near San Francisco Soup Co seating in Westfield Mall food court Sunday @ 2. Can't wait to play some paper Legacy tomorrow!
There used to be a place in San Leandro to play legacy/ extended but that time has passed. I will look at this forum for info on Legacy format games in the bay area.:D
*Side Note* I was curious to see if you knew of anyone attending Comicon in SD Because they are *NOT* having any Legacy or extended events there...! :facepalm:Which to me and others that I am meeting there is huge because I we were looking forward to doing some gaming there. If you or any other players are interested in requesting a Legacy/Extended format Event there I'd really appreciate the additional support.
There's a Legacy Tourney in Berkeley during the SD comicon.
Goodluck to you. I hope they do something.
If you can make the Berkeley event, if we can show there's enough interest, it'd be nice to have a place that will host regular events. Check the upcoming events thread.

Anyway - lots of fun yesterday.
I'll update the OP again when we have our next meeting. We may start inviting EDH players to build the group and bolster the # of Legacy players.
Im debating if I should come with seriousness or with a jank ******** deck
