what??????????? did i know you would go turn 1 for the other win condition????? dude seriously, i did nothing wrong
they weren't real games and i hate losing to luck sacks, simple as is, thats all
I tend to err on the side that you didn't properly prepare your deck and/or didn't mull properly. There is always something you could have done better. You even had a turn with which to play spells. I could potentially understand that sentiment about a 2-1 victory where both of his wins were on the play (assuming you don't play Force of Will), but 2-0 means you're facing a bad matchup/improperly prepared or you didn't mull as aggressively as you should have to force interaction with your main phase.

Maybe you don't know how those decks are constructed. They ARE aimed at turn 1-2 wins.

While I'll agree that sometimes you just can't do anything, I am going to error on the side that Emidln understands probability. I think both sides have a point to stand on. There are times when both could be right.

I have AIM for contact. I am AmeliaNatalia on AIM. Here are my best times:
Wed: 10:00 - 11:30 PM ET
Sat: 5:30 - 11:30 PM ET
I have some time on most nights, but it is not as predictable. Please let me know what works for you.
My experiments aren't going so well, so now I suddenly have alot more work to do around the lab. I doubt that I will be able to find time to play Magic for the next few weeks, so I'll just drop and concede 0-2 to my opponent Throst. Good luck on the tournament man.

Celebrating 3 years of open-minded acceptance, indispensable help, great advice, and incalculably-creative deck-design... Thanks for all the magic!
While netdecking and testing VileHorror i thought about Biorhythm. Sure its really expensive, off-color and crappy but still you're always the one with creatures while playing VH. That made me think.
I'm just posting here to say that VuKKra hasn't responded to 3 PM, the most recent one sent today. I will have no time to play today, so just to notify everyone that maybe he's dropped out (not sure). Cabal chan has mentioned that the win will go to me since VuKKra hasn't replied.

I like designing decks and I am primarily a control player. Using Drain to fight Workshops is like using Exclude to fight Dark Confidant.
Ok, well unless Magicianofthought miraculously comes online in the next few mins and we can get a match in I don't think it will happen. I dunno how the points work but I made every effort to have a match with him/her and it really seems like they missed them. Don't want to whine or anything but it was a bit of a pain in the ass to be waiting around at night for these matches that never came through :S. Also I can post the related messages as well.
Right, so Melman38 has not responded to multiple PM inquiries over the course of the week and I will not be available past this point tonight, so even if he were to resurrect his interest in this tournament all of a sudden, we can't play.
Do I get the win, because I have been active and made every attempt to contact him, to no avail?
Uhm isn't it a little weak to tell everybody wich deck your opponent played??
BB
to be fair, multiple decks can win on turn one, but yes outing combo probably wasn't the best move.

Nope. Jank gets the win because he lives on the opposite side of the world, won't use IM services, and is banned from The Source, the only MTG forums I go to frequently. Oh, and he's in the navy, apparantly. And he doesn't have internet at his home.
Good luck to whoever has to jump through hoops to get a game with this guy next round.
I'm sorry but that is ****ing ridiculous!
You're faulting him for your own faults! Unbelievable.
#1 "he lives on the opposite side of the world" - YOU live on the opposite side.
#2 "won't use IM services" - You won't use the PM function of the site the tournament is being held on.
#3 "banned from The Source" - See the MTGS logo in the top left? It spells 'www.mtgsalvation.com'. I don't think that link leads me to The Source.
#4 "he's in the navy" - Is this some kind of a political statement or something?
#5 "And he doesn't have internet at his home." - I don't see how that has any relevance whatsoever if he responds to your PMs in a timely fashion.
Stop acting like an angry emotional teenager and ADAPT.
Don't ask other people to do it for you.
I normally wouldn't have taken the time to butt in on this thing, but this response set me on fire:
This is all that I needed to know. That being the cased, Killemall missed the deadline, so it's your win.
You don't need to turn the thread into a rant-fest. Hence why I ask, when people post about their opponents, that they specifically include what went on. Such as them not replying, or missing times, etc.
Edit: I want to put something here about people needing to have some easy method of communication, but can't find the adequate words. Really, for serious now.
Tell you what. If you can't install or run an IM system, do this for me. See if you can get access www.meebo.com . In a nutshell, you can run a pre-made IM from your web browser. If you can get to that site without being blocked, I will make you an IM account. Just tell me what you want the account name to be, and what e-mail account to tie it to. Make a secondary e-mail account for it. If you don't want to do that, I suppose I could make it for you, make your IM account, and hands the keys over to you so you can change it.
Anything so I don't have to deal with these issues of games being missed because one person doesn't have a commonly used form of internet communication.
Cabal_chan, who is already investing lots of time into making this tournament work, now has to BABYSIT the people who are unable to send a few ****ing PMs which require nothing additional than an account on the very site the tournament is being held, this account being a NECCESSITY to even register FOR the tournament.
What a ****ing joke, next thing the people are gonna ask him to wipe their asses.
#2 "won't use IM services" - You won't use the PM function of the site the tournament is being held on.
To his/her defense, scheduling through PMs is much worse than through IM, since you won't have an alert for when PMs come unless you are always visiting this site.

I am sorry but you are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Time Zone differences resulting from people living on opposite sides of the world cause huge rifts in play time between opponents. The thing is the majority of the people participating in this tournament live somewhere in the Western Hemisphere. Which makes Jank's participation in this tournament awkward at best, as he lives in the far eastern hemisphere, where it is usually very late at night here in the western hemisphere during his day time hours.
Who says that KillemallFCH won't use the PM services of this forum. Obviously he tried to use them. Seeing as how they had actually arranged a time (he just forgot about it). So yeah I don't see how that has any application to this discussion.
Members of the Source who are banned from this site (such as theInfamousBearAssasin who won the last Salvation Tournament after having been banned at the beginning of the tournament) happen to be participating in this tournament. Do you suggest that they be automatically dropped due to their inability to use the Private messaging system of this forum?
I agree, Political statements should be kept to the Water Cooler, or the debate section of the Forum, and not included in this tournament at all.
It shouldn't but does.

I 2-0 mikeyk159, confirmed.
I don't go to a cafe until the agreed time, usually 30 minutes early. I post and surf the internet from work, and goldfish on MWS off-line at home.
The only time I would be at a location to use IM would be when I'm meeting to actually play the match.
Nothing says budget help like receiving $5000 in recommendations.
I guess leaving out Time Walk, Timetwister, and Ancestral Recall is budget.

Confirmed, what a terrible matchup. Good luck to you too.
The nexttime I go there, I'll see what is up, and if it works or not. I am guessing it will, but I'll just set up a regular IM service if those work.

Yes, as from my understanding, he missed the match.
Ok. I think it's worthwhile to start setting up rules for determining who gets the win when a match is missed.
