1. Edict effects (Liliana's -2 ability and Diabolic Edict), Toxic Deluge (a painful way to do it), get it with discard spells or run a 1-of Terminate in the main deck (personal flair).
2. Why? Liliana, the Last Hope doesn't do much for us in Legacy, but I guess it's better against Pyromancer and other tokens decks than Liliana of the Veil.
3. If there's a ton of Storm, other combo decks or a lot of control, then yes. I'd see almost no reason to not have one in the sideboard if you can get one.
All of that is based on my experience. Others may feel differently.
Hey guys, been awhile since I've posted but figured I'd start doing it again.
I made 35th with Punishing Jund at US EW. It was fun and hard, especially with facing two very hard matchups that I won, which I'll go over shortly. Heading into this weekend, I built the SB for combo/Lands and saw no lands and little combo. Against grixis and czech, I was confidant for the matchups and felt good going in. I like playing spice which you'll see in the list below.

Post weekend thoughts:
8-3 the and my losses where to not being able to draw the right cards against my opponets. I got to beat two show and tell decks pretty easily with back to back hand disruption. Overall, I don't think I'll change much going head in the main, except maybe turn that taiga into another waste land. SB wise, backlash is coming out for either another REB or a diabolic edict. Dreadbore was insane this weekend and killed at least 3 JTMS. Golgari Charm did work against Pyro tokens and TNN. Garruk did some amazing work against all the small creature decks. Didn't get to cast chandra at all this weekend, which made me a bit sad. Vial smasher won at least 4 games for me. Card is insane with kcommand and BBE and even punishing fire in the long games.
First off, I have a legacy tournament coming up soon. A big one. First place gets a Lotus. 9-16th gets 200 USD. Do the math to fill in the blanks, big stuff. High stakes for a local thing. Plot twist, I just moved to the area and don't know the meta very well for legacy. Deck of choice? Punishing Jund.
I have been playing jund in modern since 2012, so I have loads of experience with grinding the deck. The legacy version? not as much as I would like to have, but I have some reps in.
so for the questions:
1.) Is it a good idea to run any number of Fatal Push in the MB? If so, how many?
2.) I understand what it is in modern, but what would be a good "catch all" stock sideboard look like?
Hello all,
I first time poster in this thread. I am going to SCG Dallas and I'm planing on taking Jund with me to play as the Legacy player for our team.
I wanted to talk about side boards in the new meta, what we should really have or not have. And also, Blood Sun something we could use vs. Lands?
Hello all,

Yeah Blood Sun sounds awesome. Instead of needing Pithing Needle to turn off the natural combo and Leyline of the Void to screw with their graveyard, we now get the benefits of Blood Moon without all the downsides.
At first glance it looks like a terrible Blood Moon but there are actually plenty of decks that want that kind of effect.
I don't think so. Deathrite Shaman did a lot for the fair midrange decks in Legacy. In WotC taking aim at Grixis Delver, they literally boned a major portion of the format. I'm sure the fair decks will figure something out and recover somewhat, but I think they went too far. Taking Gitaxian Probe pretty much kills Infect and hurts ANT/TES as well. I really don't know why they felt they needed to get both. I'll be paying attention to what happens in Legacy, but I don't see how this doesn't give a green light to decks like Reanimator, OmniShow and the like.
I don't think so. Removal isn't the issue. The problem is we lost the last sliver of hope in preventing unfair decks from wrecking us. We have discard and sideboard graveyard hate for some things but that's not enough. Especially when you consider how many decks we would still be a huge underdog against even if we included force of will somehow.
Unfortunately I have to agree. Initially I thought about just increasing my removal suite to include Assassin's Trophy, but the truth is Punishing Jund doesn't have removal problems. it has combo problems and a lack of threat density. Without a good one drop and threat (our only one drops are Bolt and Thoughtseize) I don't see a reason to play Jund. The fair decks just outclass us and Bloodbraid Elf is not enough.
If you were to play Jund, I think I'd do a 2/2 split off Trophy and Decay since uncounterable is still very relevant and AD hits MOST things you want. You could maybe run Scavenging Oozes to make up for the GY hate and having a threat, but I still think the lack of T1 plays hurts a lot. I've thought about moving over to a Junk (GWB) list with Goyfs, SFM, Confidants, Thalia, and Liliana, but no Punishing Fire makes me sad.
Then why not go with Maverick/Liam deck? Because that's where I keep ending up when I try to construct a fair deck.
I actually already have. I've been running Punishing Maverick for the last 3 or so months to moderate success. Went undefeated and won FNM last night, but there have been nights where I'm lucky if I break even.
Although it is a fair deck playing P. Fire, I definitely miss Jund a lot. Especially the discard and Liliana, which is why I am considering going Junk (GWb) with Goyfs, Liliana, etc. once Assassin's Trophy comes out. However, the truth is I'm more leaning towards Junk Maverick instead since the tool box seems pretty good now, but like I said, no P. Fire makes me feel weird.
I don't see how that game plan does anything significant for you currently. Jund is just straight up bad right now unless you've got some new tweaks I'm unaware of. If you're not playing blue cards, your deck has to do something busted. Playing fair magic is not "busted."
