Hi there, back from yesterday's legacy night with a slightly modified list from last week. I basically switched Graven cairns for Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and put 4 surgical extraction in my sideboard instead of 2 by removing 2 kolaghan's command.
My 4 rounds were against the same Tezzerator guy from last week, a budget burn deck, a Red Black reanimator and and Death and Taxes.
I went 2-1-1, winning against Burn and Death and Taxes, loosing to Tezzerator and going to time against reanimator.
Round 1 against Tezzerator
I felt pretty confidant against the Tezzerator guy since I murdered him last week, however despite a T2 and T3 hymn to tourach, he was able to recover by getting a Thopter foundry in play and setting up an unhealthy amount of Thopter using a sword of the meek I made him discard with hymn to Tourach. He took over the game.
Game 2 I sided in 3 surgical extraction, 2 scavenging ooze, 1 Abrupt decay, 3 pyroblast and 1 red elemental blast. Out 3 lightning bolt, 2 tarmogoyf, 2 liliana and 2 punishing fire. I Got a T1 shaman followed by a wasteland hitting his ancient tomb and abrupt decayed the talisman he played. Bloodbraid elf cascading into a scavengin ooze sealed the deal before he could stabilize.
Game 3 He got T1 city of traitors into Talisman, I went T1 Shaman. His T2 was a sick The abyss. He asked me if I would concede, and declined. The following turns he played Jace, the mindscultor, but I pyroblasted it and surgical extracted it, reavealing that his win cons were Tezzeret, thopter foundry combo and Jace. The game went pretty slow since no one was playing creatures and I couldn't find my punishing fire engine. He got spellskite out and played thopter foundry. I attempted to decay the foundry and kept a pyrblast in hand with a surgical extraction in hand. He redirected it to the spellskite, then pyroblasted the foundry and decayed it. Felt like I was wining the war, since Tezzeret was the only threat left, but I felt short off answers because of recuring spellskites protecting his Tezzeret, while ensnaring bridge shut off any attemtp at agression by hoarding all my creatures on the board on the same turn. Ah well, felt like that game slipped between my hands.
The surgical extraction felt like they were going to give me easy victory, and certainly made my opponent work really hard for this victory.
Second round was against Burn.
Game one I mulled to 5 because of double wasteland hand and no land hand. I thoughtseized a hand revealing 2 rift bolt, fireblast, one lava spike, 1 lighning bolt and 2 mountains. I died on turn 4.
In 2 scavenging ooze, 2 surgical extraction. Out 4 dark confidant.
I mulled to 6 keeping double hymn to tourach. Hymns nets me 4 burn spells, putting my opponent in top deck mode. Bloodbraid elf and tarmogoyf sealed the deal.
Game 3 I mulled to five keeping thoughtseize, hymn to tourach and liliana and 2 land. Top deck mode engaged fast. And the quality cards I Drew a.k.a bloodbraid elf and double tarmogoyf quickly overwelmed my opponent.
Victory against burn! Again. Against burn, I find myself agressively Mulligan for discard and so far it payed off. Hymn to tourach and tarmogoyf were my BFF in this match up.
Round 3
against black red reanimator. He won the roll, got T1 dark ritual, entomb for sire of insanity, then exhume the sire. Ok, that was stupid. At the end step of my opponent, we all discard our hand. I never got to play magic lol.
In 4 surgical extraction, 2 scavenging ooze. Out 4 abrupt decay, 2 lighning bolt.
Ok, game 2 was draw go for me. I played deathrite shaman and then left at all time 1 green source for safety, exiling creatures he put in the graveyard or bleeding him with shaman's ability. Never saw surgical exctraction, but when scavenging ooze got on the field the opponent couldn't handle all the graveyard hate. Beside, since he killed me game 1 without seeing a single card from me, he had no idea was I was playing.
Game 3 He sided in buried alive to dodge the crippling presence of deathrite shaman. Yet liliana of the veil really shined in this matchup by sacrificing the monstruosity he kept putting on the field. I slowly managed to remove each threat from the graveyard and bled my opponent 2 life at a time. However, the graveyard war was long and the opponent started playing reeeaally. He got to 10 life when time wen out and we had 5 turns to finish the game. I got him to 2 life on the last turn and the judge called it a draw. Funny thing though. He tried to reanimate 1 of the 2 tarmogoyf in my graveyard which was a 6-7, I removed it from the graveyard using my shaman's ability and he responded by casting another reanimate on tarmogoyf, forcing me to surgical extract all my goyf from my deck. I felt sorry for them, but that was a nice stack war.
Last round was against death and taxes, it was pretty one sided pre and post sideboard. I got an answer for all his threat. The fight was long, but a confidant powered Jund deck against death and taxes is hard to face. Liliana really shines in this match up, she got to stick, I had my punishing fires and grove engine going. He locked me out of black mana early game with ports and this is where urbog, tomb of yawgmoth really shined once it got in play. He harded casted multiple time a batterskull but I abrupt decayed and sacced to liliana his germ tokens, he got Jitte in play too, but I kept his side of the battlefield creatures free.
Has anyone tested with Oath of Nissa? I put together a list recently and tried it out and it seemed effective but I haven't been paying much attention lately and this thread is on the 3rd page so it doesn't seem to have a ton of activity either likely due to being worse in the meta than before. I don't know how many reasonable decks there are so it might not solve a problem that exists.
I will say that Oath generally smoothed things out and was pretty nice for getting rid of some dead draws and getting what you need. I wish that it grabbed enchantments as well, but I've found that putting the cards you don't pick on the bottom of the library is generally an upside.
For the SB, I would slant it heavily towards beating combo as I think that's the primary weakness here (without having gone to a proper tournament lately):
4 Deathrite Shaman
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Dark Confidant
1 Scavenging Ooze
3 Bloodbraid Elf
4 Oath of Nissa
1 Sylvan Library
2 Punishing Fire
2 Lightning Bolt
3 Abrupt Decay
3 Liliana of the Veil
1 Domri Rade
3 Thoughtseize
1 Inquisition of Kozilek
2 Hymn to Tourach
1 Maelstrom Pulse
1 Life from the Loam
4 Verdant Catacombs
3 Wasteland
3 Grove of the Burnwillows
2 Bayou
2 Badlands
1 Forest
2 Swamp
2 Wooded Foothills
2 Bloodstained Mire
Play to win. If you don't, you're disrespecting everyone you're playing with by wasting their time. The Douchbag check is at the level of deck construction.

Would honestly rather have more discard. That said, if you're running oath I would definitely run a full 4 PFire so as to not randomly oath it to the bottom. Domri and Loam are what I would drop as they seem somewhat random.
Thing with Oath is almost every time I'd rather have Sylvan Library (which I see you have one of).
As for your list, I'd echo that Domri Rade is kind of random. We don't have that many creatures so I think you'd whiff quite a bit on his +1. Garruk Relentless has been my planeswalker of choice whenever I want one in Jund (which isn't that often). I think Life from the Loam is fine though since you can keep loaming Wasteland.
Play a Null Rod in your sideboard. It obviously hoses artifact decks like Affinity and MUD, but is also good against Death & Taxes, Storm, Miracles, Blade, Turbo Eldrazi, etc.

Nice! I like the inclusion of Matter Reshaper in your deck. It's kinda a sudo 4 and 5 of Bloodbraid Elf. Building Jund in Modern as I speak and I'm looking to build this for Legacy also since most of the cards transfer over.
So is it just me or is clipped wing's the new card from SoI great tech against show and tell or sneak and show... tin fins... anything that puts emerkul or ghrisolbrand into play?
Clipped wings "Each opponent sacrifices a creature with flying."

Ran Jund again yesterday at a tournament. There were about 22-24 people. Made top 8, but lost again in the quarters. Played against:
Death and Taxes: 1-2
Bant Miracles: 2-0
Dredge: 2-1
Death and Taxes: 2-0
Miracles: ID
Top 8
4c Delver: 1-2
I misplayed in the first game in round 1 against DnT by not thinking about him cheating SoFI into play instead of casting it, so I took 12 from an equipped Mirran Crusader when I didn't have to.
In the top 8 I just had mediocre draws game 1 while he had gas. Game 2 I stalemated the board with Goyf, but I had DRS and he was low on health so he slowly died. Game 3 my hands were pretty awful: my 7 had no land, my 6 had Forest, Grove, Decay x2, and Bob (I almost kept this, thinking that if my scry showed a black producing land or fetch, I'd be in business, but I didn't want to risk also not being able to play anything, so I mulled), my 5 was Wasteland x2, Badlands, Bolt, Liliana. Scry revealed another Badlands, so I rolled with it. But in the end his 6 was better. Seemed like it had Underground Sea, DRS x2, Delver, Daze, Ponder?
Aside from my misplays and maybe questionable mulligan, the deck felt pretty good. I'm gonna play it again next weekend at another event (In spite of my friends telling me to just play Shardless and get on the blue success train like everyone else. )

I find it ironic your friend says to play Shardless BUG when in fact, we wreck Shardless BUG. At the same time, it's quite good against a lot of decks, but Miracles and Shardless BUG are my two easiest match-ups with Jund.
That's pretty much what I ended up telling them. Historically I've really wrecked Shardless given the ability of P. Fire to mow down just about anything they play. As well as answer Jace and Liliana. I enjoy playing Jund and I don't have any desire (nor monetary means :P) to switch to Shardless right now. I think if I just tweak my list and keep my play tight (I was pretty upset with my sloppy play at times) I'll be able to push farther with the deck. I think they were more of the mind that blue would give a higher skill cap and that the non-blue colors are just limiting what I can do (my mulligans in the quarterfinals for instance and being able to 'undo' them with cantrips or draw).
I think Jund is genuinely underplayed relative to its strength. People shy away from it because it doesn't have Brainstorm and Force of Will, but its one of the most consistent and powerful non-Brainstorm decks out there. Almost every time I'm deciding on what to play at a big tournament I roll with Jund simply because it matches up well against a lot of popular decks.
I could see this changing depending on how popular Eldrazi gets and to what degree the meta warps around it. While discard + Tarmogoyf has been a great recipe for stomping stompy decks, I'm a bit concerned about the inadequacy of Decay and Fire against them. I haven't played this matchup, so I can't say for certain yet.

So glad to see someone else rocking the Trinisphere. I saw it in list last Summer and have been playing with it since, its great.
I'd go with Grafdigger's Cage or Nihil Spellbomb to hedge against Dredge. Scavenging Ooze never impressed to me in the deck with 4 Groves and 3 non-Grove Green lands. It's a good card in other matchups, but is often too slow for Dredge.

It's really good.
The most obvious cut to me is the 3rd Duress. If you're on the "stock" 4 Thoughtseize and 3 Hymn main 2 extra Duress is enough.
After that I'm less sure...maybe the Rakdos Charm? I've never played with it before so I can't comment on how good it is.
